If you drive down 8 mile looking for the Pony Express, you’re gonna be looking for a long time! They closed it down a few years back and it’s now The Blue Moose. It’s still similar enough that you’d recognize it if you wandered in. Yes… the bikini days are long gone! The food is good at the Moose & I eat there fairly regularly. It’s worth stopping in. I’d actually rate it at a 3.5 if it was an option. The girls are pretty cool for the most part & the beer is cheap & cold. It’s worth a stop if you haven’t been there before! Check ‘em out… but DON’T look for the Pony… you’ll never find it!

I was very happy to find that this was no longer a bikini bar but that’s not to say that it isn’t still on the trashy side. I met a friend here for happy hour on the patio which is a really nice patio but everyone was just sitting out there smoking one cigarette after another including the waitstaff. Our waitress was terrible & very chatty… she didn’t know the specials & told us it was her first day & then later told us she’d been working there for a year, mostly days & was always having people walk out on checks. She kept hiding behind our table smoking so she wouldn’t get caught by her boss. After her taking 15 minutes to find out the specials on top of the time it took to get the bucket of beers & the time we sat not being served 30 minutes went by before we had drinks & by that time happy hour was just about over! It took us 20 minutes to get the check & when it came it was wrong & took another 10 to get it back correct… by that time we were out of drinks & just sitting there(we didn’t dare order another, we didn’t have all night). The clientele left a lot to be desired… I’m guessing they enjoyed the previous bikini bar aspect. The whole time we were here a creepy guy with a tank top & mirrored sunglasses sat & stared at me. I checked to make sure there wasn’t a TV over my head he spent so much time looking my way & there wasn’t. Basically, we sat here for 2 hours most of which was spent waiting & being glared by creepy guys. I was hoping this would be the kind of place I could go by myself any night of the week & feel at home with like minded people but this is NOT that place for me. I’ve lived in Farmington for over 5 years & still haven’t found a good neighborhood bar like I had in Dearborn… it’s kind of disappointing.

I love this bar since they changed to the BLUEMOOSETAVERN! Staff was very friendly and fast, the food is amazing everytime. I’ve been there 3 times since they opened and I’ve been impressed every time. Good job BLUEMOOSETAVERN and thanks for giving me my new hangout! Anthony.

The burgers are great I had The Heat, lots of flavor and some type of special hot sauce, it’s great. My go had the Backwoods she loved it. The patio has a sweet fire fountain and the place was crazy. Made for a great night. Thanks Blue Moose. Btw you can’t miss the place the sign can be seen from space at night.

this is a white trash alcoholics bar… their claim to fame is that the waitresses wear bikinis… but trust me, you will pay for them to put their clothes back on. Its like they are trying to be a strip club, but the girls are not good looking enough so they make em wear swimsuits. The only plus is that they are open at 7AM, so if you work midnights you have a bar to go to in the morning.

I kinda like the greasy bar grub at this place. The bartenders are in bikinis, which is why I’m there. Lots of turnover, so don’t get used to any one girl. They only have 2 working, so you likely won’t spend much time chatting anyway. I’ve seen goddesses and some real rough ones working there. Good beer prices. Clientele is all over the place. Lots of regs; some of them are scary and some are really nice. You can expect someone to come up and start a conversation.
