I was referred to this business from a family member for a cake for a birthday party. Communication was sent to see if they could replicate a picture, was reassured that it could be done and when I went to pick the cake up, it looked nothing like the picture. To top it off, my order was incorrect. I ordered a cake and 2 dozen cupcakes, they claimed the order was changed to 1 dozen(which I know it wasn’t). To top it off, order wasn’t ready when I went to pick it up, had to wait for her to finish. Professionalism on a scale from 1 – 10, I would say a 1. Cakes/Cupcakes on a scale from 1 – 10, I will give it a 2. I’m usually a great supporter of Black Small Businesses, but when this is the type of service they feel is okay, I will gladly take my business elsewhere.

Very good cupcakes but a little on the small side but flavors are awesome! You can’t go wrong with anyone of them

My son’s godmother keeps a gluten free diet. For his birthday, we just ordered a cake from the grocery store, but got a couple of chocolate GF cupcakes from Cake Luv. She said they were some of the best she’d had! The selection of cupcakes is always changing — there are 6 – 8 varieties available at any given time, and the variety changes from day to day. I’ve been in a dozen times, and have never been unhappy with my selection. The owner recently added soup and sandwiches to her menu; I recommend the chicken salad.

We’ve been here twice since they opened. First time was shortly after they opened, the second time was just recently(9÷6÷2014). First time in, the cupcake selection was very limited, and she said she wanted to start out small until she built a bit of a client base. When I went in again, I could see from the signboard on the sidewalk that there were about a dozen different types of cupcakes listed. Wanting to support a new business, I went in and ordered 2 cupcakes(red velvet and chocolate peanut butter cup) for $ 5.00. The first time we had cupcakes, they seemed kind of average(neither the wife or I really remember exactly, so they must’ve been average). But this time, they were amazing. The red velvet was absolutely amazing. The cake taste was perfect, moist, and the frosting was the best. You could almost taste the pure sugar, yet it wasn’t sickeningly sweet. The peanut butter chocolate was quite good as well. Again, moist, fluffy, tender cake, with delicious peanut butter frosting. Between the 2, the red velvet was my favorite, but both were good. She does custom cakes there, and looking at some pictures, they looked absolutely beautiful. We typically do some sort of custom character cake for our kids’ birthdays. Next birthday we’ll definitely be trying out Cake Luv based on how excellent those cupcakes were. The shop is very plain itself, mostly taken up by a kitchen area in back, and a small display counter with the cupcakes under glass. Outside on the sidewalk they recently added a handful of nice outdoor chairs and tables to sit and enjoy your cupcakes, and they had convenient water bowls out for your thirsty pet. Talking to the owner, she said she was considering expanding to start doing some sandwiches and soups. She was particularly psyched up about making rum cakes soon. I’ve never had rum cake so the excitement was lost on me.
