Farmington Veterinary Clinics

We have been going to this vet for many years, maybe 7 or 8 years or so. The vets Kris and Amy are very good and caring. About 7 years ago, our sweet Puggle chased a rabbit right into a van and I an not sure if she hit the van or the van hit her but it wasn’t a good site when I rounded the corner. Luckily she didn’t have any broken bones but she had obvious head trauma. Her right eye was ticking back and forth like a pendulum of a clock and her left eye was bulged. She was flopping and trying to get up but couldn’t. The accident happened at 6pm on as Friday. It happened on the road behind the clinic and my wife ran over there and Amy and Kris were getting into their cars to go home for the night but changed all plans to give immediate care to our girl. They treated her, stabilized her and prepped her for us to drive to an animal hospital to get further care. We are indebted to them for saving our fur baby.
They currently have a nail cut punch card where you pre-​pay for 5 nail clips for $ 50 and you get a punch card. I think that is a good deal. The staff that they have at the front are not always the most helpful. You can stand around waiting to be acknowledged for quite some time. I don’t think they are very friendly, the fewer words, the better I guess. I still go there because I love and trust the vets here.

Great! Friendly and easy to work with.
Good:
— I got to stay with my dog the whole time, which made me feel better about his treatment.
— I had an appointment and didn’t have to wait when I showed up. They were running right on time.
— I didn’t have a leash, and they had some hanging out that I could use.
— I forgot to bring my dog’s records even though it was my first time. They just called down to my old vet and got all the info. Once they put it in their computer, I was good to go. Nothing more needed from me, and it gives me updates on my receipt of when he’s due for what.
— The vet recognized that I was money-​conscious and gave me suggestions accordingly.
— The vet was friendly and offered lots if information. She even got scientific as she explained why I’d see certain things if my dog’s eyes got infected, which made me feel like she respected me. I appreciated that.
— The vaccine was prepped before we got in the examination room, speeding things up.
— When the vet gave my dog his vaccine, she was quick and sneaky. He didn’t even notice/​flinched!
— The vet listened to all my concerns patiently, working through them with me.
— when I mentioned my concern about his duclaws curling into themselves, she pulled out the clippers and we clipped them. It was so quick and easy!
Bad:
— The vet had a really loud voice. But I definitely heard everything she said. :)
Don’t know how the prices compare since I don’t go to the vet often, but it didn’t break my bank to visit for a general check up. I’d definitely recommend this place to others.

This vet use to be so very helpful and friendly until owners changed. Now they are rude and careless. They only care about money instead of the health of your pet. Highly recommend you find another vet.

Dangerous place to take your pets. If you love your pet don’t risk their life by taking them here. I brought my dogs in for annual check-​ups and vaccines and the «Doc» gave my dogs the wrong shots. I felt so stupid because I didn’t realize it when we were in the exam room until after the «Doc» had left. How could he have not checked his charts? He gave my 90lb dog the shots that were intended for my 35lb dog. Very fortunate for us that these were only vaccines so my dog just got his vaccines 90 days early. What if the shots were for something else, perhaps medicine? I understand mistakes happen because after all, we’re only human, but own up to it. We never even got an apology, just a «well, it will only be another $ 90 dollars.»
Not only was their professional service poor and unqualified, their customer management and overall service was unorganized and distasteful. They don’t keep secure files and couldn’t pull up our dogs vet history so we can provide proof to a boarding facility.
I am not an individual who can be easily offended, or upset, but this is the worst business I have visited in many years. Do yourself a favor and find a better vet. If not for you, do it for the safety of your pets.
