I was in a terrible car accident in 2002 and I luckily already had a Neurologist due to a prior shoulder/long thoracic nerve injury. I had a horrible experience at St. Joe’s hospital in Ypsilanti, Michigan, during that hospital stay. They didn’t treat me with respect or seem to look for anything wrong. they drugged me up for 6 days and finally my husband took me out of there, knowing something was drastically different and wrong with me. We called Dr. David Simpson, D.O.; who had been my Neurologist in the past and helped me very much. We went to see him when he was still at «M.I.N.D.» in Farmington AND at Garden City Hospital in Garden City, Michigan. He started the ball rolling and everything fell into place finally! He got me set up with Neuro-Psych testing which proved the«MTBI» or «mild traumatic brain injury». He did EMG’s on me and found nerve damage in many places, especially the right long thoracic nerve which had been previously injured in 1999, but had recovered about 70%. But then after this car accident it was re-injured; never to return to anything but PAIN! Dr. Simpson is the best Neurologist EVER! He is kind and patient and he checks out every ‘Hunch”! He listens attentively to your concerns and he loves to help children AND adults alike! He sent me to all of the different places that I needed to go and to all of the testing that I needed done! He literally«saved» me from just thinking it was«all in my head» and that my husband was wrong too! WEKNEW something was different, wrong about me, with me but couldn’t put a finger on it exactly. But Dr. Simpson, D.O.; he knew right away and did and has done everything in his power to help me in every way possible. Whatever he couldn’t do for me, he found someone who could help me! I don’t know what I would have done without Dr. Simpson!
