One of the last remaining indy book stores! Great selection in a charming space. I’ve given a lot of Nightbird gift cards as client gifts and they really love them!

Have always found a great book when I take the time to browse here. From cookbooks to social science, to children’s lit, it’s a great selection and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Love to visit with the birds. The magazines, esp. local ones, are great. Look for signed books from author visits.

Do you want an infinite selection of books to choose from at the lowest prices possible? Are you in the mood for a latte crafted with the touch of a master barista? Are you hankering for a mocha with syrups and espresso instead of coffee swirled with chocolate milk? THENSUCKITUPANDBROWSEAMAZONWHILEYOU’RESTANDINGINLINEATSTARBUCKS, YANERD Nightbird is all about the ambience, and hot dang, does it have ambience in spades. Yeah, the coffee, tea, and food aren’t top-notch, but there’s a good assortment of them, and they’re good for something to do while you’re browsing their beautiful selection or just soaking in the high ceilings and exposed brick while catching up with a friend among the stacks. Afore-mentioned selection isn’t the largest, no, but it is rich and varied, unique, with something for everyone, much more suited to the browser than the militant shopper looking for a specific title. Best of all, the service is fab — they’re friendly and funny when helping you, but very non-interering, won’t bother you unless you ask(and from what I’ve seen, they’re all p dang cute, too) Haven’t yet gone here for one of their live music nights, but if the level of atmosphere and service is anything like it is any weekday afternoon, I can’t wait.

Cute little bookstore on Dickson. Came here to do some work on a saturday afternoon. Quiet, quaint, & staff does not hover. Free wi-fi. Reminded me of my b-school days in Cali. Nice assortment of coffee, teas, wine, beer, & café treats. Mix of students & professionals. Look forward to returning.

Excellent customer service — was looking for a gift for my niece in the children’s section and there’s an employee there who specializes in just that. I wound up with about 4 books that I know she is going to love. Cute little store and I would definitely shop here again.

Beautiful little independent bookstore that has recently moved into a better location on Dickson Street(used to be on the corner of 6th and School). Prices are naturally slightly higher than at chain bookstore, but the selection is unique and always top notch — makes for a fantastic place to browse. They always have great gift-type items, and host a lot of readings as well. I love the atmosphere and I always try to buy books here before checking out Barnes & Noble. It’s worth the few extra dollars to me to have such a neat local store in town.

Beautiful place, cute employees! Super friendly too. Very nice seating and well lit. Have to check out the large(7′ tall) bird cage with several species. Very cool for children too. Small restaurant attached with a deli-style menu and bottled beer(including Guinness). Book selection was pretty small, but great if you aren’t looking to find a specific title. Recommended. Did I mention the staff ladies are cute?
