This is located in a newly developed region of Fayetteville. Never heard of World of Beer(WOB) prior to checking this place out. What I expected was beer, beer, and more beer! What they ended up serving was beer, beer, and more beer… but also bar food! Surprisingly, this is all served in a much cleaner and spacious venue than your typical bar though, granted it is fairly new. As soon as I walked in with my foodie companion, I felt uncertain about where the«front desk» person was and whether or not it was appropriate to simply sit wherever we pleased — but then who would take our order??? All these questions racing through my head combined with my obvious look of confusion are probably what prompted one of the waitresses to bounce over and provide some assistance. She was great at taking the liberty to explain a little about the history of WOB as well as the fancy ipads on various tables displaying informative facts about the numerous types of beer that they sell(everything from % alcohol content to darkness of the beer to country of origin). She also checked in with us frequently throughout the meal and provided beer recommendations. She seemed like a very bubbly person. We ordered some of the summer specials: –Summer Corn Hush Puppies served with bacon onion jam, jalapeños, and Sriracha lime aioli($ 5.50). They are essentially 6 balls of deep fried cornbread with actual corn inside. The sauce had a bit of a kick to it, but not too spicy at all. –White Peach Sangria($ 6): Moscato with housemade peach-lambic syrup and a slice of peach. If you’ve ever had Ocean Spray’s White Cran-Peach juice, that’s exactly what it tastes like. You can barely even notice the alcohol content. And off their regular menu: –Chipotle BBQ Chicken Flatbread($ 13 for a Full size): Grilled chicken with green onions, red bell peppers, and bacon in mozzarella cheese with a drizzle of chipotle BBQ. The bread is so thin, it is quite nearly flat. The Full size is cut into 8 squares pieces. I always thought chipotle sauce has a little kick to it, but this tasted like typical BBQ sauce. I also didn’t care for the bell peppers, but otherwise, this tastes like your average BBQ chicken pizza/flatbread, which is good as far as I’m concerned! –Steak Frites($ 15): Marinated flat-iron, grilled and thinly sliced steak served with steamed broccoli, fries, and garlic aioli for dipping. Substituted the fries for tater tots because well, tater tots are freaking awesome so why not??! When you look at this dish, it looks pretty plain. It has all your nutritional essentials — vegetable, protein, and carbs. But then you take a bite of the steak and wow! The steak is incredibly tender and juicy! Overall, great experience thanks to our waitress, Faith! BTW, they offer a discount for beers if you sign up for their Loyalty Card program. It’s worth considering for frequent customers. You’ll also receive a t-shirt. Awesome place for beer lovers.

When my husband and I went here awhile ago for a date it was pretty loud but our food was great and my husband liked that he could try some new beers by getting a little shot glass of it to decide if he liked it. It was very packed and loud. I hope next time we make it when it’s not busy because I hear there are some games I want to try out!

Place: World of Beer, Skibo Road, Fayetteville, NC Time: 1230 Date: 30 May 16 Ambience: Wood and tile throughout, creating a somewhat dark but warm atmosphere. IPads on tables with beer selections and other information. Comfortable enough chairs and tables. All in all not a bad place to take in a meal. Service: I didn’t catch their names, but the two young ladies who served our party of three were attentive without being intrusive, and always had a smile. Food came out quickly(it wasn’t too busy as this is Memorial Day), and it was served hot/cold as appropriate. Service was excellent, but the restaurant was not full, so … I’d like to see what it’s like on a Friday or Saturday night. Food: I ordered the French Onion Soup and 2 Shrimp Tacos … First, the soup … Greasy(the stock and/or base was not degreased prior to adding to the onions, or after the addition of the onions). Onions were not caramelized, meaning there was no depth of flavor to the soup(the whole idea of caramelizing the onions is to provide that sweet, caramelized flavor to the soup). The cheese, whatever it was was broiled/salamandered to extinction. The croutons were just haphazardly strewn pieces of bread thrown into the bowl. Very disappointing, and I sent it back after maybe two spoonfuls. WOB really needs to work on this — this is a classic French bistro dish and it’s wonderful when it’s done right. This wasn’t. Shrimp Tacos: Served on grilled flour tortillas with iceberg lettuce, a chipotle style mayo, cilantro, beer battered shrimp, salsa, avocado slices, a lime wedge and sliced fresh jalapenos. It was OK — the lettuce could have been more uniformly cut(there were some big pieces interspersed with smaller ones). It would also be a good idea to the put the fried shrimp on top of the sauce, not underneath it — if you’re going to go to the trouble of creating a crunchy texture to balance out the soft textures, why bury it in sauce where it can get soggy(which happened with this dish)? You could also serve that on the side and allow the guest to add it as well. Overall not bad, but it could be improved. Beers: I had an iced tea, but as the name of the place states, there is a very large selection, both on tap and by the bottle. If you’re a beer person, this is not a bad place to be. Overall: Food — it needs work to really bring up to something that stands out amongst the other places here in town doing beer(Mash House, Huske Hardware, even Mac’s Speed Shop). It’s attention to detail, really. Service, as noted above was excellent, and the place was clean and inviting. Would I go back: Yes, but I’d be more judicious as to ordering based on this experience.

Loved this place. Of course there is a great beer selection but the food is on point. We had the shrimp and the hush puppies for starters, both were delicate and crispy with nice flavor combinations. Nothing was greasy. I had the strip steak sandwich which has arugula and goat cheese, delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. Great place to stop and eat if you don’t mind(or you want) lots of large TVs with sports on and need something close to Ft Bragg.

Thought it was gonna be plain pub food however their food is incredible. Outside seating and a live band when I visited. Great beer selection possibly the best in town.

Good food and cheerful service. Not a large place so we sat on the patio. It was a bit chilly evening, so we appreciated the tower heater nearby our table. My colleagues enjoyed their beer.

Love this place. My favorite thing about this place is the service. Our waitress was the absolute best! She did her job so efficiently and was the nicest person ever. The beers, wide variety! I would say go to their app and look at what they got because it seems like there was more on there than the menu. And everything is alphabetical making it easier for me. Food was delicious. I recommend the flat iron steak sandwich. So delicious. I wish they had more dessert choices but I got the Belgian waffle smores and it was yummy. Hit the spot just right. Maybe Nutella would have made it better but that’s only because I’m a Nutella maniac. I recommend this place if you wanna try variety of beers and enjoy with some friends. Really a great hangout spot for chilling and drinking

Fantastic food, a GREAT selection of beers. I’ve never been disappointed with the food myself however a friend I went with ordered the chicken pesto sandwich and it was pretty much all char. The service could have been a little faster for how many employees were working compared to the number of people sitting down. However, those are just little bumps and will not keep me away!

3 stars is about right. Wait staff was nice. Beer selection was good. Food was mediocre and slow coming out. The French onion soup was not anything to get excited about. Mixed greens on the salad equals iceberg lettuce.

**UPDATE** Since I was so irritated first go. Let’s just say I did the original review after asking to speak to the manager who was never on the floor HOWEVER she managed to respond to my original review an hour after posting it!!! When we asked several times to speak to the manager we were told«she won’t come out she is busy doing dishes in the back, you just don’t understand she doesn’t know what she is doing». ANY restaurant I have been to a front of house manager always double checks the table aside from the waiter, this was not the case here. SO to add to my original review. 1. Server had an attitude when we asked are you messing with us he just gave us a look. 2. We have a vegetarian in the group and she asked for no bacon on her tots, after 30 minutes of waiting waiter came out and said you guys still don’t have your food? Oh I forgot to say no bacon that’s ok you can lick it off, I said NO she ordered no bacon. So another 30 minutes the app comes out cold. We gave in. We ordered all our apps prior to 7pm to ensure the $ 5 special. 3. We out in our orders for entrees and receive them an hour later, waiting another hour for beers. 4. We all asked for waters about 3 times and only half of us got it, not to mention when he first took orders at the table he took half the orders and ran off. 5. Entrees took an hour to come out. We placed one order at 6:50 and it came out at 8:30(tots) ONLYTOFIND A CRAWLINGBUGATTHEBOTTOMOFTHEPLATE!!! It was taken back and a new one was brought out quickly but at this point it’s been 2.5 hrs and everyone was ready to go. MINDYOU had to go looking for our own utensils. 6. Steak and Frits cold and dry 7. Pesto sandwich cold and bread was very hard I had to eat just the chicken. 8. Veggie wrap had a weird smell but was decent enough for the vegetarian. 9. WHENTHEBILLCAME none of us were charged correctly and we were told we did not order prior to 7. BS! 10. WHEREISTHEMANAGER??? WEONLYSAW2 waiters and the EARTHS slowest bartender. I FEELTERRIBLEFORTHEOWNER/FRANCHISEE they need a major overhaul. Positives. It’s new And the margarita pizza(which came out in 30 minutes) Outdoor seating. We went on a Wednesday at 6. LETMEMENTION4 of the 5 of us are in the industry of hospitality and have major patience but 3 days later we are still talking about it. There is nothing to do that would make us go back. WEWITNESSED other tables with the same misery and unsatisfactory. THISPLACE has so much potential. PEOPLEWILLASKWHY we didn’t leave, we were there for a going away get together and we all really wanted to give the place a chance, if I was alone I would have left but I wanted to be with the company who decided to stay. Always busy with no one managing the front of the house which means every time I find a table it’s up to the waitress for the section I sit in to figure out I’m even there. Numerous times I have arrived and sat for several minutes before anyone even come to clean the table from the previous customers. The food is great no doubt but for a restaurant called world of beer the selection is limited and the prices are outrageous. All that said if you can get a seat before the rush the wings are good and the beer is overpriced.

Came here for the first time for Sunday brunch with another couple of friends. Hubby and I ordered a beermosa, the Hangover skillet, and the Chicken and Waffles. What’s Hot — Portions. Hubby and I left full, but not stuffed. Good sign that you’re full, but not overly full/can’t walk. — Good flavor. The tavern tots are pretty good, especially with the additional sauce and jalapeño slices. My Hangover skillet was pretty good and the sausages were delicious. The eggs and cheese went with the tater tots nicely and the cheese was gooey and melted over most of the skillet. — Beermosa. It was a surprisingly good flavor. There was a nice fizz and it was still kinda sweet, which is appreciated. — Good selection of drinks. Our entire group had the beermosas, but the drink list looked pretty extensive, which seems nice. It looks like there is a decent choice for everyone. Warning, though! I’m not a beer drinker. Haha. What’s Not — Price. My husband’s order came with tater tots and he asked if they could be the Tavern Tots flavor, which are loaded with jalapeños and cheese. Keep in mind, it’s a small side that comes with the main dish. However, we were charged an additional $ 2.50. The waitress did not explain that to us when we made the change in the order. Additionally, that is a pretty high priced addition to essentially add a few toppings. Not cool. At the very least, it would have been nice to be informed of the additional cost. We’re kosher for paying for legitimate food and service, so long as it’s not a surprise/not explained. — Slow service. Our waitress checked in on us with enough frequency, but the food definitely took longer than expected/appropriate. The restaurant was not full or busy, so the length of the wait surprised us. Additionally, we didn’t order any appetizers, which made it worse. — The Sunday brunch recently changed times. It went from 11am to noon on Sundays only. That’s not cool for convenience. — Sunday brunch menu isn’t online. It would’ve been nice to get a preview. — Ambiance/noise level. The interior carries sound very easily. In other words, it’s not always easy to have a conversation because sound from other people carries. — There’s only like 3 – 4 booths. Not cool. Booths are more comfy and conducive for couples and parties of 4. Final Answer To be fair, my rating is between 3 – 4 stars. Probably around a 3.5, especially because of the money issue. Willing to come back here, but it’s not the first choice.

Good: Server was very attentive and super nice. Bad: My Black and Tan was… All black. And comprised of Guinness and flat tire(not sure why harp, smithwicks, or murphys wasn’t used). Not a bad place to be if you’re looking to kill time but not anywhere I’ll be going back to in a hurry again.

As someone who likes trying different beers, I was really excited for this place to open. However, it looks like it is just going to be another hipster joint. Yes, there are a lot of different beer options, but they are all overpriced, mediocre beers. On the plus side, I did have the cheesy tater tots, which were pretty good. I am a fan of dark beers such as stouts or dark ales. I was disappointed in that area for sure. I think the strongest beer there was around 7% ABV, which limits a lot of great beers. The legal limit in North Carolina is 13% ABV. Overall, I think this is the hipster place to be. If you are an actual beer connoisseur, there are several breweries you can visit or local beer and wine shops that have a better selection for cheaper.

I have been wanting to check this place out and was excited to stop by tonight after a movie. Okay. I know this is the world of beer but I don’t really like beer. Do they have anything else to offer? The atmosphere was great. They had live music tonight and it was really crowded. So crowded in fact that we were lucky to get a seat. Our waitress was amazing and seemed to genuinely want to make sure that we left happy. The food menu was not as extensive as I thought it would be. They offer appetizers, salads, burgers/sandwiches, and a few flatbreads. We started off with some long islands and a pretzel. The long islands were the absolute worst thing we have ever tasted. Apparently, they make their own sweet & sour mix there which includes wayyyy too much lime juice and the mixed drinks tend to be very bitter. They made them again for us, and they were a little better. I think the sweet and sour mix recipe could use a little tweaking. The pretzel was freaking huge and tasted awesome. We paid a little extra for the beer cheese and really enjoyed it. There were a few inedible and really hard parts to our pretzel. I ordered the shrimp tacos and my husband ordered the ahi tuna poke. Both items looked great but lacked basic seasoning aka salt and pepper. The shrimp tacos tasted slightly better when I added the salsa and also stole some leftover salt from the pretzel to put on them. The ahi tuna did not seem fresh and tasted a bit fishy for me. I have had ahi at many other restaurants and never encountered such a fishy smell and taste. There was a nice seating area located outside complete with a fireplace and heaters. However, I noticed a no smoking sign out there so anyone who smokes will have to walk out front to do so. The bathrooms seemed clean. There were two stalls in the women’s restroom bit only one had toilet paper. There were two sinks but only one worked. The trashcan was overflowing and the smell in there was pretty bad on this particular night. This is the world of beer and they did offer an extensive beer list, but left more to be desired when it came to mixed drinks and food. I was extremely pleased by the friendly atmosphere and the wait staff. I think those factors alone can lead to a successful business but I do wish they would work on the cocktails and food menu in order to be well rounded for individuals like myself that do not drink beer but wish to accompany my husband.

Here are some tips for the Manager… Turn the damn music down. I shouldn’t have to YELL my order 3 times at the waitress. The«Good Tipper Bell» throw it in the trash. There is no need for a bartender to ring it like an epileptic. Take the 2×4 Jenga off the table and put it out side. No one wants to hear that crap crash to the floor. Bring my table a Food and Beer menu when we sit down. Why would you ask? Learn table and seat numbers, don’t bring food and beer to our table and ask who ordered what. THISPLACEISSUCH A SH*T SHOW Anyone that gave a 5 Star rating either works or dates someone here. There is no way this is «Woohoo! As good as it gets» 3rd Visit… no improvements.

Came here to check out their new location and it’s pretty nice, lots of seating and some tvs. We came for lunch and of course beer. WOB of course has a large selection of bottled beer and a lot on draft. We got their local flight which are the NC drafts but you can either pick em let them surprise you with something. :) Had several other pints but wasn’t too thrilled with the price of their drafts. For food we got the tater tots appetizer which were soooo good and I had the flat iron steak sammich. That sandwich really hit the spot! It was so delicious, I saved half for later and it was still just as good. It’s easy to spend a little money there so be prepared.

Meh. That’s about it. They have some really quality brews on draft, but $ 10 for a Tripel Karmeliet? I could buy that for $ 6 on the magnificent mile in Chicago, and that’s downtown where everything is overpriced. The service is pretty good, but the food is really lackluster. I’ve gone there twice and between those two visits it took them FIVETRIES to cook a burger medium, and they still couldn’t get it right. The ambience is great, lots of hard wood and comfortable lighting, the overall design is incredibly welcoming. You’d be better off grabbing a drink with your friends here and then taking them over to Mission BBQ or Mcallister’s for better food. Edit: Another establishment that serves their overpriced brews in improper glassware. You’ll be drinking your Tripels and Quads from short stemmed wine glasses instead of Chalices or Goblets. This is so massively disappointing, but apparently commonplace in this area. Order the proper glassware or don’t bother serving the beer. You wouldn’t serve a Red Wine in Chardonnay glass, so don’t serve Quads in a short-stemmed wine glass or pint glass.
