Typical case of you get what you pay for. I always wore wire frames and wanted to try plastic. I picked my glasses up and they sat crooked on my face. I also could not see clearly. I went to Pearl closer to my home since I do not live nearby. They said 1st off some people cannot wear plastic, something to do with the geometry of frames vs face and that the store I purchased from should have taken better measurements. When I called the store the woman was rude. I am just going to pay a little extra for now on. Pearl has been nothing but helpful and kind while the woman at A-1 is always experiencing a bad day. ONCEAGAIN, YOUGETWHATYOUPAYFOR.

So this lady was all ready for work and walking towards the door in a rush and stepped full force in… I have a new puppy, oh shut up! My brothers«fat baby girl» had a litter of six. While I was in Johnstown, he caught my weak side and pawned one off on me. The pup was cute and all he did was shake, so I named him«Shivers». I asked my brother why he shook so much and he said he was cold, seeing the dogs were born and had been living in S. Carolina. Okay… He was right, the dog continued to shake and he is as happy as a clam but he still shakes from time to time. He sleeps in my bed, under the covers and jumps into my bubble bath before I do. Drain. Oh yes, we are talking about glasses and A-1 Optical. Which brings me to this… Located very near to my house, quick and convenient for emergencies, like puppies grabbing your reading glasses off the night stand and dropping them on the floor to lose a screw or to mangle the hell out of the arm. Walk right in and the owners, Barry and Janet who are always very pleasant and understanding will do the best that anyone can do to fix your glasses as soon as possible. My husband has had recent Lasik surgery and no longer wears glasses, but he has stopped into the shop many times in the past for glasses and quick repairs. I have stopped in myself numerous times, because of lens popping out of my glasses or loose arms. Nine times out of ten it is a quick fix, no charge or a very minimal charge. They have walls and walls of glass frames and sell contacts. Their optometrist has been with them for years and they seem to have a steady flow of business and repeat customers. The owner of my local garden center buys his glasses from here and the garden shop also does snow plowing in the winter, so they have worked out a barter system with A-1 free glasses equals= they will never have to shovel or plow again. That’s nice! Now, to find an answer to waking up in the middle of the night to step in dog do! I rarely call him Shivers anymore, in fact he has quite a few names, «you little SOB, you little bast – d, you little»… A-1 is at the rescue for your eye care needs. They accept most insurance, are family owned with friendly service. Check them out!
