Worst $ 200 I ever saved. Did not fly usual SW to Tampa. Thought I’d give the new guys a try flight 811. Plane late in getting off, could not find anyone to close the door. Flight fine. Close to on time. Then sat on Tarmac 45 minutes waiting for ground crew to guide us in. Now waiting over half an hour for luggage to off load. Guess same ground crew.

I think allegiant air is a good airline. I never had any bad experiences, my flight from Stewart Newburgh, NY to Saint Petersburg, Florida was good I flew on a nice and clean Airbus a320. The staff were nice too. I recommend that you bring your own bottled waters because you pay like $ 2.00. For the price of the airline tickets you can’t beat it.

I booked a flight to go pick up my child from WV and bring him back with me as they don’t allow unaccompanied minors. Only problem is they don’t make that an option on their un-​user friendly website. I decided I’d then call to add my child to my returning flight. They charge an extra 14 bucks for a phone call reservation and suggested on their automated line that going to the airport would be no additional cost. I decided to wait on the phone but after 30 minutes wait time thought I would just go down in person. I get there and there’s no where for me to park so I pull over where ppl are being picked up and run in. One guy ignored me when I went up to his desk. Continued to peck away on his computer and never look up to acknowledge me as I was standing there not even a foot away. I noticed a little sign that said he was closed. Never thought once to point that out to me as I stood there to be waited on forever. I went to the next desk and the lady tells me «you can’t buy tickets unless it’s 5:00». Geez, would’ve been nice if the automated service would have mentioned that! Then I get back outside to see I’ve been fined 30 bucks for parking outside and leaving my car unattended. I feel like it never would’ve happened if I had gotten that information about being there at 5:00 right away rather stand there for 5 whole minutes being ignored!!! I’m so dissatisfied with this company! The time I flew with them, before a staff member stalled us until we were 2 minutes late checking in on our mobile phone and they charged us an extra fee for being two minutes late checking in due to her negligence. Not to mention I still don’t have a flipping ticket for my kid! I will not be flying with them again.

I refer to Allegiant Airline as Agony Airline. Many delays and what makes is so bad is they tell you nothing until either after the time has passed or a few minutes before the flight time. They also will switch out planes so the seat you paid extra for is not there. I only fly Agony Airline when I have very little choice to do otherwise. I have flown Agony or bought tickets for others sat least 15 times. 6 on time.

How do they manage to never be on time and always have excuses as to why they are late? Their sits don’t recline at all and the entire time it feels like you are inside of a box, not a plane. I understand discount airline concept, but they charge for everything: tickets, using a credit card, sits, carry on. What’s next? Charge to use the bathroom. The only reason I use this airline is because they offer direct flight to Allentown. My family has an inside joke: «friends don’t let friends fly Allegiant.» There is a better way to do business even when it is a discount business.

Wish you still had the Bellingham to Maui Flight! So much! 2013 I flew round trip from Bellingham ham to Maui for $ 380. Seriously? Yes, seriously. Now Allegiant only flies to Honolulu and not from the great state of Washington. The flights are fine in my experience. You get more than what you pay for. I’d most likely not fly Allegiant again simply due to lack of service in my area but if they came back I’d be thrilled.

Allegiant Airlines is not my favorite airline, but a low cost and direct flight to FL, makes it a top pick when not flying in a private jet. Do not bring a bag with wheels unless you want to pay $ 50 as it will be considered carry on luggage. Use a large purse or backpack and it’s free to bring on board. This is considered a personal item, not a carry on. This is a low cost, no frills airline, and they make money on carry on’s, baggage, and food and drinks. The seats are great priced at about $ 50 to many areas, add about $ 15 for choosing a basic seat, or $ 30 extra for a more legroom seat. No first class seats on these planes. $ 5 extra for priority boarding. Non alcoholic drinks are $ 2-​$ 3, alcoholic drinks about $ 5, snacks about $ 3-​$ 5. Great low cost option for taking an entire family on a trip.

Flew my first flight with them last Friday. Yes you do have to pay extra for baggage, boarding pass and snacks but for the low fare I found it was worth it. I had a friendly flight crew. My plane left and landed on time. My daughter and I sat together in the two seat row which was nice. Our backpacks (which are free personal items) fit nicely under the seat.

Pay extra to print your ticket, extra for your bag (carry-​on included) extra to pick a seat, extra for in flight snack, extra for in flight water m, extr… Wait, what? YEA. Extra for water. Shame on you allegiant.
You ONLY get two stars because I got to my destination safely. OTHERWISE, it woulda totally been a one.
Oh yea, my safe arrival had nothing to do with these two flight attendants who seemed way more into each other during the preflight safety speech than they were in showing me were to find my life vests.

FIVE STARS:
–Allegiant flies direct to small cities around the country, which works out incredibly for me, since I have to travel to Lexington and Asheville several times a year.
–The flights are ridiculously cheap, even after the mandatory fees not included in the original purchase price.
ONE STAR:
–Allegiant flights still force you to turn your phone completely off for take-​off and landing. All other airlines stopped abiding by this silly FAA mandate back in 2013, but for whatever reason, Allegiant is still going strong with it! I know this is a total first-​world problem, but it’s incredibly annoying. They force you to turn off your phone as soon as they shut the cabin door, which is sometimes 20 minutes before take off. And it’s at least 20 minutes prior to landing, as well. But let’s be real here: if there was even a 0.1% chance that a cell phone could even mildly inconvenience a plane or pilot, they would not even be allowed on board.
–They don’t take American Express. My barber who works completely independently, takes AMEX through Square. Allegiant is an airline. C’mon! I’d gladly pay another fee so that I could earn points on my card.
–You cannot utilize TSA Pre when booking an Allegiant flight. I’d say I don’t comprehend this one, but I don’t understand the other two issues either.
Because these are always work trips, it’s really comes down to «fly direct» vs. «be able to use your phone the whole time + earn AMEX points + skip through the TSA lines.»
I’d love to see Allegiant address these issues, but otherwise, I may find myself taking a layover just to avoid the other inconveniences.

I’ve flown Allegiant Airlines over 20 times in 2013 and 2014. Before 2015, I would have given Allegiant four to five stars, because even with its bare bones offerings, you just can’t beat $ 30 – 60 dollar direct flights. Prior to 2015, I found them to be an efficient carrier with few delays.
In 2015, Allegiant, specifically it’s St. Petersburg (PIE) location (and any route with this destination) has been awful. In Jan 2015, one of my flights was cancelled on a Sunday night due to mechanical failure. The staff completely mishandled the cancellation. The next flight out was the next day, over 24 hours later! I had to wait on hold for about an hour and a half to receive a voucher via email. They didn’t advertise this unless you asked, called, and waited.
This year, they have been in paper several times in the Tampa Bay. They’ve been on the Tampa Bay Times front page with the headline «AlleGIANT Error» (read A Giant Error). The article detailed the emergency landing one of the planes had to take because IT RAN OUT OF GAS. Article found here:

You couldn’t pay me to ride this airline… literally. I have an allegiant voucher for $ 100 which I am not using largely because I’m too terrified to use their planes. Hope Allegiant gets their stuff together because I did like them before.

Today my 78 year old father took a flight from Grand Rapids to Sanford, FL. My sister-​in-​law gave hiim a sandwich and a bottled water in case he got hungry during the flight. When he attempted to eat his sandwich on the plane, the flight attendant told him that he was not allowed to eat his sandwich or drink his bottled water because they were not purchased on this plane. I am glad he didn’t have a drop in blood sugar and didnt pass out on the plane otherwise we would be in a lawsuit right now. Completely disgusting!

If I could put zero stars I would. WORST AIRLINE EVER. Yes the flights are cheap but I would rather pay an extra $ 100 then deal with all the delays, mechanical issues, and rude staff. I had a round trip from Pittsburgh to St. Pete, Florida and both flights were delayed and we were trapped on the plane for over an hour. They claimed someone had a medical issue but multiple mechanics boarded the plane and entered the cockpit and no one on the flight seemed to be in distress. A few passengers actually got fed up and left the plane! Then when it was finally time to leave, the attendants seemed more frustrated than the passengers. They were very rude. I should have known better. Last time my mother flew allegiant the plane lost pressure in the cabin after two hours in the air and they had to land. Please don’t waste your time with this airline. I would recommend to no one.

The staff on the plane and the plane itself was fine. The stewardesses even had this funny «we’re Charlie’s Angels» bit.
The airport at ELM was efficient and small. We got there really early but probably would have been fine getting there a lot later. People were still coming through security (not because the line was long) as we were boarding. On the return flight, the baggage was in the carousel in a decent amount of time, it wasn’t fast, but it was less than a half hour after the flight landed.
The PIE airport end was a very different story. We waited over an hour to get our bags. When we returned to PIE we found the line to check our luggage was probably 200 people. There were maybe five flights leaving that morning and three counter staff to check everyone in (one of which was wearing runway gear so it seems like they pulled him to help). As boarding time for each flight drew near, staff would walk up and down the line of people and shout for those in the next departure to jump to the front of the line. It was crazy! I waited in the line for an hour before my flight was called to the front. After my bags were checked they rushed me through security (fastest security screening ever, I’m sure we were safer because of it…) we waited for our zone to be called and we boarded the plane. It seems the PIE Allegiant airport was very short staffed. It makes me wonder if they cut their pay too to make the airfares cheaper.
On a side note, nothing is included. I was surprised that little fan on the plane turned on without me paying for it. I expect that on a cheaper flight, but my airport experience was awful.

Ceo /​owners of this airline you have to have no soul to operate a business like this. Customer service is ridiculous, check in staff have the worst attitude. I just don’t understand where’s the managers? Their not seeing this. Plus allegiant air has the oldest fleet of planes in the country, along with a lot of mechanical failures, buy the time you Add luggage 40 $ (extra charge for over weight) + boarding pass $ 5 the hassle is priceless you would’ve flew on a descent airline.
Never fly on this airline

Do not bring extra bag to the airport. First make sure you know the weight limit is 40 pounds for a checked bag. What they don’t tell you on line is if you check in you cannot add any luggage after that and they will charge you 50 dollars one way for a carry on or a checked bag. I tried to call ahead to see how much it would be. The number went to a message that said call volumes are high and hung up on me. Worse airline ever! Unless you get a dirt cheap flight do not fly this airline.
They continue to list our flight as on time even though it’s 4:06 and our flight is scheduled for 4:18. There isn’t a plane in sight and they have not started boarding. But it’s on time!

I have been traveling on Allegiant for over a year now and have been on at least 4 – 5 round-​trip flights. Most reviewers did not do their homework prior to booking with Allegiant. You pay for any hand luggage and checked bags. Personal item (that will fit under the seat) is free. You pay if you need to print your boarding pass at the airport and for a early seat assignment. Yes, you pay for water and snacks on board. This is what keeps the fares lower than other airlines. Go to their website and click on the «Travel Info» tab. You will find all the necessary information regarding fees there. Do your homework and compare other airlines. If Southwest is cheaper, go with them.
Regarding delays, I’ve had 2 delayed flights within the year that were only delayed by 1 – 3 hours. I took a flight this past weekend and both inbound/​outbound flights were 10 minutes early between PIE and GSO. The lady at the GSO airport (did not get her name) was fun, entertaining and energetic as I was waiting to board the flight to PIE on ⁶⁄₂₉. She had a great sense of humor for an early AM flight. We need more gate agents like her! Kudos to you!
Seats are small and there isn’t much leg room. Flights are domestic and short so no big deal. The flight attendants are smiling and friendly. Never had any issues. I will continue to support Allegiant. I hope they open more routes in the near future!

From beginning to end bad bad bad… The flight maybe on the lower end but you get what you pay for. Everything is extra! I mean everything including printing out your boarding passes! There is even a charge for water… Staff going into Michigan were rude, staff checking in were unorganized and really didn’t care about the paying customer.
Coming back the staff checking in were just as rude however the airline hosts were much nicer.
Once landed in St. Pete we waited 40 minutes for our luggage to get off the plane!
Also let me mention neither flight was on time. Both were a good 30 minutes off.
This airline sucks. Never again.

I did a lot of research on Allegiant before purchasing my tickets with them. I think this knowledge might have made my experience a better one because I knew what I was getting into. Here is the basic jist of my roundtrip from PIE (Clearwater/​St. Petersburg) to Cincinnati, Ohio.
–My roundtrip flight total was $ 200 (including a checked bag in both directions ($ 30) and my seat ($ 9 one way, $ 11 the other). The cheapest price I could find outside Allegiant was $ 399 for my dates.
–My flight was non-​stop. All the other flights I looked at for less than $ 500 had layovers in other cities.
–I had NO problems at all on the departing flight. We left on time without issues.
–I had read that some flights didn’t have air conditioning? My flight most certainly did have air and it was pretty powerful.
–I read that there was no on-​board entertainment. That was true. I was fine with it.
–I read that the seats were small and uncomfortable. The seats were cushioned and maybe on the small side if you are large. I was comfortable in them and I am considered «overweight».
–I read that there were no refreshments or snacks. No problem, I purchased my own in terminal. They actually DO serve snacks and drinks on the plane, you just have to pay for them. I wish I had waited until on the flight because Allegiant prices seemed cheaper than the $ 7 in terminal I spent for a water and small bag of chex mix.
–There was plenty of staff and they were all nice and courteous.
–On my returning flight from Cincinnati there was a 3 hour delay. I knew ahead of time thanks to signing up for their texts and just arrived at the airport late. I still made it home faster than I would have with a regular airline and layover. The staff was very apologetic about the situation and offered us free soda while we waited.
–On the returning flight the passenger beside me became really ill. The flight attendant found a Doctor onboard (another passenger) to take her vitals and administered her medication. The entire process was handled well and very professionally. They moved her to an empty row while all this happened so we could both have more space.
Overall, I had a pleasant time flying with Allegiant. I was worried about my overstuffed suitcase being an issue, but they didn’t question it at all. They were courteous and felt like any other airline I have used. Plus, I saved a $ 200-​$ 300 at least and hours of my time by flying with them. I have found that most of the people complaining try to cancel or change their flights. You must be fully committed before booking. I will definitely fly with Allegiant again in the future.

Definitely low budget on service but not cost. Everything costs extra including early boarding., seat choices and even carryons. Pretty soon you will have to pay for prosthetic devices like artificial knees and hips as extra luggage. I keep waiting for them to weigh passengers and charge by the pound. GOD forbid some of us then.
The only good thing is they fly direct to places like Bangor Maine which most airlines don’t and even the flights with a stop are pretty expensive. You certainly do get what you pay for and less not more.
Find an airline you can trust and use them to become a loyal customer and hopefully the perks will follow. Until we can all take flight ourselves I guess we have to suck it up and do the best we can because right now airlines have the upper hand because we are so dependent on them. Not willing to be dependent on allegiant though. Taking my business elsewhere.
