Barnes & Noble

Seems like the aisles are so wide that they couldn’t fit as much stock as other barnes and nobles. The associates are fantastic. I was super happy with them. I was less pleased with the literal 1 4 ft space of wiccan-​and-​astrological-​type stuff compared to the six shelves of christian fiction and bibles. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such an unbalanced selection at any barnes and noble. Note, I’m not counting the tarot section or the «angels among us» kind of books. With those, the «supernatural» section turns into 3, 4ft sections. But still.
Had tons of room to maneuver but felt like they could’ve fit more in it with a better set up. I like the store but it feels empty-​ish.

This B&N is a small store with a café and is located in the Pavilion Centre next to H Mart.
The large magazine selection is a big bonus for me. I am an artist, and there are magazines available here that are hard to find.
It’s cool that they have some seating areas to read.
I didn’t see any movies or CD’S for sale here like at other locations. They either don’t sell them or were out of sight.
The signage in this place needs improvement. It was hard to find the genres I was looking for, and I had to ask where the restrooms were since I couldn’t see a sign.
The restroom was in really bad shape. I asked for a manager so she could get it taken care of right away. It smelled horrible, with water and wet toilet paper on the floor in the stall I used. I saw it was like that in the one next to me too, and the paper towels were multiplying in the trash cans onto the floor.
There’s plenty of free parking available.
I would like this box chain more if they didn’t charge for their membership card. Amazon charges $ 99 a year for Prime but you get thousands of free ebooks, movies and 2 day shipping plus 1 day shipping on some things now. B&N is charging for a membership to get a discount off some books, that’s it.

Clean bathrooms, plenty of help if I’m looking for something. There are so few bookstores now and it’s my favorite kind of shopping. I stop in here at least once a week and it’s a favorite place to meet my friends for coffee. I like to go with my sister on a winter night. We gather a dozen books each and then we peruse them over several coffees and snacks. We average buying about 2 each on those trips. And then there are the thousands of magazines!!! How do I know what magazine I want unless I get to look through lots of them?
What could make it better — – maybe having regular presentations by retired professors about literature or history, a dietician about the latest books on nutrition science— maybe a Jane Austen night with appropriate music, tea and cakes, invitations made to look like visiting cards.

Great quiet place to read or study. Alot of books and has a starbucks which is a plus.

I have been here on a number of occasions and I have always loved book stores. I spent many hours of my teen years roaming through the old book stores in NYC (New York City) and still get nostalgic when I enter Barnes and Noble.
Many times I get frustrated with the lack of help and limited selection of books — OK books I am looking for since they have thousands — but last night they had enough of a staff to help us and guide us in the right directions. They do need a buzzer on the information desk so you can get help.
NOTE — We also enjoyed the Christmas music playing while we shopped — more stores need to add that.
There are plenty of places to sit and brose through books and the place is open and aerie. Book stores are closing up all over the place so if you are a reader — please visit them and buy some books so our kids and grandkids will have a place to shop rather than on Amazon — which is very impersonal.

A Barnes & Noble store that is still open? Say it ain’t so! So pleased when I was in Federal Way today and went to this shopping center and there was a actual book store there!
This B&N is very well stocked, and pretty much has everything you might think of for a book store, the prices are fairly good, they have a awesome selection of magazines– the calendar selection at this point of time– not so great. But generally dont go here for those anyway.
I love how casual this place is, and that they have plenty of spaces you can grab a book and sit down and do some reading, and they dont seem to mind that! It also has a very nice coffee shop inside the store. (Which the employees probably love lol)

Nothing over the top looking for a certain book as a gift and some reference material have passed by here over the years but never had the chance to go inside.
Well organized somewhat busy but staff seems to be on it.
Still get looks by staff as if my safety work gear deters them to believe This individual can actually find reading matériel at my level.
The store is in a strop mall with other chains Petco and Joann fabric. Heck I an fin a book here so one can knit a sweater for my dog and am sure there is a bar close by to forget what I just made! Lol stop by browse buy and enjoy.

This is a decent bookstore, overall, but I was horrified by the state of the bathroom and the smell. It honestly ruined the experience for me.
Nice toy section for the kids, decent selection of books overall (though, for a Barnes and Noble, this one is on the small side), and good deals on clearance books. I just will find another place to use the facilities.
I also did not appreciate the constant reminder, while checking out, that I could save more if I joined their club.

I am not a big fan of this B&N because their book selection isn’t amazing and I’ve had some bad impressions of its staff. I’ve overheard ridiculously pretentious conversations among them on several occasions, and when I asked one of them if they had anything by a specific author, she insisted that I spelled it wrong (because their system couldn’t possibly not provide any results!) After asking me the book title, she tried to correct me on that spelling as well, which, in the circumstances, made HER sound like an idiot.
Please, to anyone who wants to feel superior to other people, just don’t ever assume you are smarter or know how to spell better — you might prove yourself to be smarter than a dumb person, but plainly annoying to the rest of us.
The funniest part was, when the system was clearly malfunctioning again for the next customer, she had no problem telling him it was a system error.

This particular Barnes and nobles is pretty laid back and sort of relaxing. It’s quite open with large windows which you can peer in and out of. It’s connected to a Starbucks (which is always nice) and has a few tables for you to sit at. It gives you that kinda home-​ie feeling and it has a wide range of book selections. Many people come there to relax with friends as well and maybe sit down and read, or use there laptops, and even study. I do wish they had more of a drawing selection though. (The best though is when you come to this Barnes and noble when it’s cold or a rainy day outside so you can come in and just grab a cup of coffee and look through the books inside the warm comfort of this book store)

I come here a lot, like literally a lot. I love reading their magazines. They have lots of tables, so I really like that part. The other Barnes and Nobles I went to didn’t have enough seats like the one at Northgate mall, the Barnes and Nobles there is big, but not enough seating upstairs. Although I wish there was more outlet at Barnes and Nobles. When you go to Starbucks area, there’s no outlets which sucks a lot. If you want to bring a laptop, make sure it’s full battery. They only had 2 outlets from what I remember. I’m also a member of Barnes and Nobles there, it’s only 10% discount, but still saves some cents, right? Hehe. It doesn’t make a big difference, but it’s okay. I sometimes purchase books when I read good celebrity magazines. When I read celebrity magazines, it helps me motivate to get a book, it’s weird how that works. I also buy Archie comic books here. Feels like a home to me here. Their restroom is big for 4 – 5 stalls.

Your generic B&N. I do like this one in particular though because of the way it’s laid out. They have various tables and mini couches scattered throughout the store, so you get more of a LIBRARY feel, than you do a bookstore. And what’s even nicer, people utilize that space to study or read. I’ve even caught the occasional lone ranger who decided to hunk down on the floor to do some studying and employees don’t seem to mind so long as they’re not bothering the shoppers.
Good book selection, and employees are friendly and willing to help you find whatever it is you need.
On top of that, although overly crowded most of the time, the CAFE serves really awesome food. Get the Roasted Tomato Caprese Sandwich. You won’t regret it.

This review is for this location only. When refusing to purchase the B&N member program the cashier (male, Caucasian) immediately became annoyed. He didn’t like my answer and kept asking questions about why I didn’t want it. His last question was «How many books do you read in a year?» I didn’t want to get into it with him so I quickly said «No thanks, none», hoping he’d leave me alone and just ring up my book… instead he replied «That’s a shame» with disgust at the thought I didn’t read.
Hello. I love to read. You didn’t get that I was being polite and didn’t want your member plan. Total jerk. Didn’t say anything to me the whole time after. Horrible customer service, especially sad if the cashiers are told to push the member plan on people.

I found it surprising that they didn’t even carry the PMBOK. It’s a pretty commonly used book for project managers & business people. What was worse is that their computer said they had the book, but it couldn’t be found anywhere.

I dont buy books that aften, but I came in and literally got lost in books! When I got here I wanted to buy so many but came for only one. And honestly I cant wait to come back ha ha ha.

My daughter and I were at the Starbucks café on Sunday evening waiting for my husband to use the restroom. We usually get smoothies and coffee during previous visits, but we were all still full from dinner on this night. We were ask loudly by the female staff (barista) to leave because we didn’t order something from the café immediately.
I have been to Barnes & Nobles in Las Vegas and SoCal for years, and never been embarrassed like this before. Are people just more laid back in the Southwest?
Make sure you order something from the menu they place on your table or you and your family will be publicly ask to leave the café immediately. If this is their policy, they should have a sign by the entrance letting customers know instead of embarrassing people. Go to the Tukwila B&N instead. At least that one provide chairs for customers even if your not allowed to bring magazines into the SB café.
We recently moved to Washington and hoping it’s not like this everywhere I like to shop. By that, I mean robot anal retentive employees. I def. miss Borders. They had better coupons, service and reasonably priced items.
By the way Starbucks in B&N, the whole reason I went in there was to buy a bag of coffee when I was done looking at magazines. I was so pissed off, I forgot to do that. Dam you SB, now I have no coffee this morning!
I will not be going to Barnes and Nobles anymore until I rid this bad experience out of my head. I’ll order my books and magazines through
where it’s cheaper anyhow, and get my coffee elsewhere.

Um, I am just recently finding my way around the Pacific HiWay corridor and noticed the Barnes and Noble. Went in and went… wow, big. Spacious and open. A-​OK, well sort of. There is some seating but not a lot. There are few employees and the place seems empty and lifeless. I head to the Starbucks that is connected to it for a tea and notice they have a huge selection of foods I haven’t seen at other STbuxs, like quiche for eg.
I’m hungry and normally eat the spinach feta wrap but thought I’d go for the mediterrean quiche. The ‘barista’ behind the counter was personality-​less and even rude to a man who asked for directions to a place down the street. It was just me and there wasn’t a big line so I don’t know what her impatience was all about. She heated up my quiche and I noticed right away it looked much browner than it had coming out of the case. I sat down, took one bite and back I went. IT was salty and burnt. She wasn’t helpful and had an attitude about me bringing it back. But she relented and gave me back my money.
I drifted to the book section and got a beautifully rendered book on Islamic poetry. I asked the cashier about the Starbucks and all the different foods there and she said that actually this B&N has a contract with Starbucks but that it’s independent and the newer food items are not starbucks issued.

I love coming here to browse through the books and magazines, buy a book or two and have some coffee (even though Starbucks isn’t my No. 1 choice.)
The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable, prices are great too.
To the reviewer giving B&N 2 stars b/​c they kicked out a homeless man with mental issues I would like to say that it is not the store’s policy to provide homeless people with shelter, they can get that someplace else. Clearly this man wasn’t making any purchases and was making the actual customers uncomfortable so he had to leave.

Haven’t been here in years… but now that Borders is gone, when the need arises to go to a bookstore this is the largest bookstore in my neighborhood. I tend to buy all my books, etc at Costco, Scholastic Warehouse (in Auburn) or online at

Found a calendar for my desk and for my mom — both at 50% off. Not perfect, but will do the job. Help was non-​existant except for the cashier (who was fine).

Nice place to wrap your hands around a latte and a good book!
