Goodwill Industries

Since I was last here, they completed their renovation, and it’s definitely different… but not necessarily better.
It looks cool and modern inside, for sure. The signage is new and bold, and they have cute chalkboard signs behind the register. The floors are dark linoleum and it’s surprisingly nice! Especially since they didn’t spruce up the outside, so you wouldn’t realize it from outside.
The bad part is that there is way less floor space than before, and this wasn’t a big store to begin with. They moved the fitting rooms to be a diagonal cube in the middle of the floor, which takes up a huge amount of square footage. The racks around it are shorter to compensate, so they’re not even full-​size racks.
The store is so small now that the housewares section is just a couple of shelves, and there’s no office supplies or crafts/​sewing section that I saw. Selection is quite limited in every department and we didn’t find anything to buy, even on a sale day.
So the remodel is definitely pretty, but not a better shopping experience. Don’t go out of your way for this one.

So I decided to give this place another try and wished that I hadn’t. But my brother got an Xbox here for 2.99 and it worked perfectly fine and he modified it. So why not give them another chance right?
WRONG!!!
I walked in this store totally on a whim. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular I just wanted to see if I could find anything worth buying. I remembered that I bought a brand new j. Crew cardigan for my husband from desert industries for 3.99 (the tag said it was 34.50) so I decided to look around here.
I didn’t see too much for men and I noticed that they were having some type of dress sale so I walked over to the dresses. I noticed a reddish orange dress and it looked brand new so I grabbed it. When I was looking at it I noticed it still had the original tag and that tag said 6.99 so I was like oh snap! Okay so I KNOW this dress has to be like 1.99 or 2.99 and if so then I’m buying it!!!
I turned the the goodwill tag around and can you believe that GOODWILL PRICED IT AT 9.99!!! That’s more than the original price!!! I took a picture and walked out. I couldn’t believe it.
Goodwill is supposed to help those in need but they’re charging OVER retail price for items! Seriously!!! Disgusting!!! The proof is in the picture!

I like their deals. You can find some decent treasures if you have time, patience and olfactory receptors that aren’t too sensitive. Damn, there was an unsettling mix of smells in this place. I prefer the Goodwill in North Seattle/​Shoreline because it’s bigger and smells better but that is much too far of a drive for some clothes priced 2.99 — 9.99
Wear a surgical mask if you come here. Hell, put some gloves on too.

You might want to learn to train your cashiers how to their job. This place smells and lacks in trained employees.

Go to another thrift store because this one is overpriced. You will find much better deals at other thrift stores and even at other Goodwill locations. No idea why they want $ 7 for a used shirt or $ 13 for hand-​me-​down jeans when you can pay the same for brand spankin’ new ones at Ross or Marshall’s.
Not a lot to choose from either. I was hunting for men’s clothes for my BFF who really likes lived in clothes and they had nothing in a men’s small for less than $ 7. How is that possible.
I didn’t look at the women’s clothes so maybe it’s a better deal in that area but from the other reviews it doesn’t appear that way.
Everything’s donated so of course it’s a mixed bag.

I have been to several thriftshops, this place is OVERPRICED. Ross or Marshalls is the same price for clothes. Jeans are $ 12.99 & up Tank tops $ 10.99 & up. I bought a nicnac priced at 5.99 also had a duplicate tag from the original store $ 1.00. I was told today by the female PIC basically oh well. She advised me that there was nothing she would do for me and they try to take off original tags but sometimes they are missed. I told her that she had left a very bad taste in my mouth over this incident. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE TO ANYONE. #GOODWILL

Worst customer experience ever. First woman rudely told us she wasn’t open. Then we went to pay and she didn’t even say hello. She gave us a rude look then rang us up. After making a comment of how rude she was, she gave us a disgusting attitude look on her face and blamed her coworker and complained she was just doing her job. I said she didn’t need an attitude and then she raised her voice at me and repeated herself. We took our money back because after that teenage attitude problem we will never give Goodwill our money again. The teenager that helps us really has terrible customer service and if she doesn’t know how to be polite she shouldn’t work in retail!

Went shopping today. Got a dvd and a sweatshirt.

Went here today and did not feel safe. Had a couple of men come up to me and my ten month old son and they made me feel uncomfortable so I left. I will not be back here.

The goodwill gains business by obtaining DONATED items from local people. I have to say in the beginning I would visit here EVERY Sunday and always walk away with a bag of items… recently they have went to only «One» color tag (50% off) and the prices seemed to have gone up. They used to have a $ 1.29 item and a 50% off color tag every day. The Shirts, Blouses, and Tops usually ran about 2.99 to 5.99 per item… now they are 3.99−7.99 for a top. Pants were $ 4.99−8.99 and now they seemed to have jumped up to 6.99−10.99 per pair. They have a large selection and always very well organized, but recently the prices have increased. I understand inflation, but this is a DONATION station and we come for a discount. I don’t want to pay full price for a top when I can go to Walmart and buy the same item (NEW) for the same cost.
Bring your prices back to reality, offer the two tags daily and maybe business weill come back?!

MAAAAAAYBE I caught it on a bad day… a couple days in a row…
But when I want to look for skirts, it’s difficult when they’re mixed in with the dresses. Or when the shorts are next to cardigans. I usually love myself a good thrift store hunt, but this was downright looking for a needle in a haystack. Matter of fact the the one thing I did like, happened to be a satin skirt… That I found lying on top of sweaters.

I went into this place looking for a few things for my sons apartment. I might as Well go to Ross and pay a few bucks more for new stuff. Very over priced

I couldn’t believe it. I volunteer with a non-​profit senior group and we had a bunch of stuff in a van to donate. They fricken wouldn’t take it! Woman said — we’re just going to take it to the dump. Smelled musty she said. I know for a fact there were like new jeans and jackets in there — and they are too good to take them. I’ll never darken their door again — as a donater or a buyer

Small selection. Typical goodwill– somewhat over priced items and outdated styles of clothing.

No complaints got a designer leather jacket normally found for $ 300+ dollars for seven bucks after their 50% deal. Still had new tags on it too. It was a steal. Lots of decent things and some new things as well like new travel systems and baby gear in sealed boxes. Staff was nice. Its a Goodwill don’t expect Macy’s or Prada.

I was not impressed by this GW. The people at the registers are really nice. The store though was rather lacking in it’s selection. Half of the clothes were hanging off the rack and/​or on the floor. The men’s shoes racks are badly in disrepair. The shoe racks are dangling of the hinges and are a safety hazard especially for children at the lower levels. The housewares dept was so cluttered that I just gave up. And I hardly ever do that at a thrift store. I can’t say I won’t ever go back, but I have a few other choices before I decide to go back. It doesn’t help that you have to make a huge U-​turn to get back to the GW if you’re coming on Pacific Hwy instead of just being able to make a left hand turn into the cramped parking lot

This is a newer Goodwill. However, it still has that «Goodwill» smell — don’t pretend you dont know what I’m talkin about. I always think I’m going to get some sort of deal but almost always leave empty handed swearing I’ll never be back. There really are no bargains here — brand new (non-​smelly items) are cheaper at Walmart.

Never have been able to find the good stuff here. I know it’s a Goodwill, but at some of their other locations, I’ve been able to find some GREAT designers; YSL, Seven For All Mankind, and Armani Exchange for example, but here I’ve not found anything nicer than Banana Republic and Geoffrey Beane. I think I’ll continue my clothing scavenger hunts at other Goodwill locations throughout the sound.

I will admit I am addicted to goodwills and thrift store shopping!
However I’ve stopped in here a few times and they REALLY need to adjust their prices!
A old beat up coffee table for $ 69? I mean come on really?
$ 19.99 for some sneakers with no laces? All the other places I’ve been they are half that…
They need to realize all these items were «donated»…
There are plenty other places that are much better…

Like seriously though Goodwill… You’re really going to try & make clothing the highlight here?
The thing about this location is clothes are all that you see basically. From the minute you walk in its the only thing you can literally lay eyes on. I think it would be safe to assume that the majority of people aren’t looking for clothes here, but rather other non-​clothing items that they probably assumed Goodwill would have for a cheap price. In my case used bowls for dog food.
This Goodwill fails in that sense. Seriously the non-​clothing sections are laughable. And to be honest with you that’s a shame. Make the section bigger Goodwill management personnel!
The only reason they are even worthy of two stars is because they are in a relatively new & modern building & the place is kept clean. Bottom line… This isn’t Macy’s, Nordstrom, JC Penney’s or Forever 21, & I don’t know why they model their business like it is.
