Staff here are always friendly. They mentioned to me and my girlfriend that they keep their prices matched and try to lower them a little with competing pet stores. Which is true!
Only place to get my dogs food which is Taste of the Wild. Couldn’t find this brand at pet smart or petco. They also give out sample bags if you’re thinking of switching over to a different type or brand of food for your fur baby.
Rolan, I hope that’s how you spell his name. He was really helpful! Had a lot of knowledge on products, mentioned what his dogs like and helped us make a decision. Thanks for the help!

LOVE this local pet store! I support small local businesses and this is a great one! The employees are very friendly and helpful.
Mudbay has a great selection of QUALITY dog food (food you can’t find at PetCo or PetSmart), toys, treats (frozen treats, organic, and grain-​free as well!), and more. They even have freezer with a selection of raw foods.
When I first brought my puppy, Maxwell, to Mudbay, one of the employees gave me a free puppy starter goodie bag! It came with info about caring for a new puppy, waste bags, a tennis ball, and so much more. It was so nice of them because it gave me useful information and lots of resources.
Also at check out, they always give your pet a treat!

My fiancé and I adopted a senior kitty from the Seattle Animal Shelter and were given Mud Bay coupons for food and litter. We had always loved Mud Bay in Burien so we were excited to see how the Federal Way one was (where we just moved). When we walked in we had no idea what we needed, but there was such a nice lady ready to help and greet us! She answered everything we asked, she was so knowledgable on all products. It was an amazing experience. There were so many little gifts, coupons and educational packets at the end. I can’t wait to go back, I highly recommend the Mud Bay in Federal Way!

Love this place, they’re always very helpful, ask them anything and they are honest And truly take the time to help you out. Plus my dog loves coming here for the free samples. Mud bay hand picks every product that they sell in the store. Customer service is the best, and their products are the best for our furry friends!

I started coming here when I adopted a 10 week old chihuahua puppy that I named Toupee and the staff here is OUTSTANDING! Socializing puppies is the most important thing you can do for a puppy and the staff (every single person that works here!!) has gone above and beyond to help socialize as well as give extremely good advice on just about everything I’ve needed in regards to food and toys. Incredibly knowledgeable staff! I’ve never been treated this well at any other store (other than other mud bays). They truly love animals here and it shows. I want to thank all of you for treating me and my now 4 month old puppy so well. We feel so incredibly welcome in your store and it is a wonderful feeling. I truly appreciate it. I also had a great experience the one time I stopped in at the Maple Valley Mud Bay as well. Toupee is becoming a very friendly and outgoing puppy because of all of you. You guys are an amazing group of people

I love going in here. It’s like walking into a Whole Foods but pet version lol! That’s the best way I can describe it. Sure, it can seem overpriced but they really do carry some of the best, quality products. Their staff is also super knowledgeable anytime I have questions.
I get his main food at petsmart or costco but I like to come in here every now and then to splurge and buy him some goodies and treats. They also give you samples so that’s awesome too!
The store is very clean and organized and I love the bulk food section!

Everyone we have ever spoken with at this location is so knowledgeable. A little pricey but when you have dogs with allergies and are looking for a food they can eat, it’s great to have people that know what they are talking about. Additionally, if the food was not «right» for our dog, they would take it back, no questions asked. The only place in town we can find treats for our dogs that they can eat. Very clean and well organized too.

I was given samples to try, and plenty of recommendations. Very knowledgeable about different dog food brands. I will continue to by my pets food from here!

What can we say? We like this place! :) Our dog KeKe has a complete wardrobe and tons of toys. Small LOCAL shop — we like these.

I am so glad I found this place. They carry a variety of natural pet food, lots of treats that you can buy by the pound, and tons of pet supplies too. The staff members were also fantastic and very very helpful!

The girl that helped me was so helpful and so smart. It was so comforting and reassuring knowing that I was getting what I needed for my dog.
They are there to help every step of the way. I was switching my dogs food and they helped me through the whole process… From food samples, to making the change, to buying the food. I was truly amazed and will definitely refer my friends.
I don’t remember the girls name who helped me, (I wanna say Malia?) but I was thoroughly impressed with her and her knowledge.

I went into this Mud Bay expecting it to look like the others I’ve been to. It’s essentially the same layout but the shop is a little smaller than some of the others. That’s due to it’s location but that didn’t stop them from packing as much merchandise as possible in there. It doesn’t look cluttered but you do get an immediate feeling of being overwhelmed when you first walk in. Thank goodness for all the employees being in the center of the store at the register area.
As soon as you walk in you are greeted by one of the shop employees that offer to help you find whatever it is you’re looking for. But if you’re just browsing like me and taking pictures of the shop it’s kinda annoying because the employees stalk you. It’s a small enough shop that they can pretty much see you from the counter but at least one will be on the sales floor with you asking you every two minutes if you need any help. And since I was taking pictures I could hear one employee complain to another about me. And after only a few minutes a male employee approached me asking why I was taking pictures.
When I’m shopping, I want to be left alone and if I have a question, I’ll ask. I don’t like being followed everywhere. Also there’s no harm in taking pictures for Unilocal because it can help bring in more customers…
All in all the shop is clean and well organized. And aside from being a little aggressive, the employees are friendly and try really hard to be helpful. It’s a bit on the pricey side because of the all natural things but if you demand organic or just want something different this is the place to go for your pampered pet!

This place is GREAT! Upscale pet store in my opinion! They are super knowledgeable here and are quick to help! Great selection of truly healthy food options for you dog/​cat (and birds). There are grooming tools, collars, leashes, teeth cleaning, incontinence and coat care items, pet beds, not to mention TOYS and TREATS! Dog coats are always fun too. If you are not sure what to feed your pet or if they are having allergies or not eating a certain kind of food, they will help you find something! Even raw food diets! Stop in here and support a great company!

This place is my favorite dog shop where I purchase all the food essentials for my four legged babies~ the return policy is amazing. If your dog doesn’t like the food, you can simply exchanged it for something else. As long as you have that receipt! They take the returned product and donate it~ how nice is that?
As far as the staffing goes~ they’re all super friendly and kind. And you can surely tell they’re all dog lovers too! Whenever I’ve brought my baby Daisy in, they greet her with smiles and puppy voices along with rewarding her with yummy treats and samples.
In addition, when my dog is under the weather, this store is the only store that carries organic canned pumpkin. If you’re not aware, canned pumpkin does amazing for a sick pup with diarrhea and vomiting. What’s even more amazing, if you purchase bulk, you get a sweet discount! My wallet, along with my Daisy, love it! So if you’re in the area visiting petco or pet smart, right across the street you’ll find your next favorite animal store

I love coming here on the weekends to shop for my dog. I usually come here to get his treats because I like to give him natural stuff with no fillers. I like to scoop my own treats for 3.99 lb which is a really good deal and they have a large variety of treats to select from. Some other things are a bit pricey, but it’s understandable because it’s good quality.

I first went to Mud Bay in Seattle at the UVillage, and when I moved down south I was glad to find one here. It is pretty much the same as the previous one I was familiar with. Friendly staff and the supply they keep on treats, etc I love because they showcase local products!
You can also get tags engraved here. There are 2 options. One that they do right in the store and another that seems a more sturdier/​quality tag that they engrave and it comes back in 1 week. They have different tag sizes for each style. I wish they rotated the dog toy selection a bit more, because I feel like I have bought a lot of the toys already! lol
Although it is not super friendly to my wallet my dog (lab mix) loves the toys, food, and treats from this place. I would always do your own research before buying a particular brand from a chain store, but when I have compared to this place to others I don’t think you will find somewhere that sells the same quality for much cheaper. Last i checked Petco and/​or Pet Smart don’t carry Taste of The Wild in their store. The parking is also great b/​c I always find a spot close to the front of the store, and the location is right near my fav Trader Joe’s, so i get my food shopping and my dogs checked off in one visit!

So I have three dogs that rarely agree on anything: they don’t agree on what time to go to bed, whether to take a walk, when to play, and trying to find food all three of them will eat is, well, difficult.
So imagine my surprise when my mom brought over some treats from Mud Bay’s doggie treat bar and they proceeded to snork them up whole. I have no idea what they put in those things, but whatever it is it WORKED.
This is a smaller store than the Puyallup location, but there’s still plenty here: it’s split into dogs on one side and cats on the other, rows and rows of food (canned and dry), toys, general health items and of course, the doggie treat bar. I really like it here, the employees always seem friendly and willing to help, and it’s clear they have pets of their own and love them as well.

I’m a huge fan of this shop. For my dog’s food and snacks, I always had gone to Petsmart. Now Petsmart is still a wonderful place– but this Mud Bay is a new, great addition. I’m a frequent shopper when it comes to their bulk snacks. There are plenty of different flavors and types of crunchy, dry snacks. My dog loves them and i’m happy knowing that they are healthy and not full of artificial flavors. The people who work here are very nice and can be ready to assist at any time. I’m really thankful that it has opened up in this area. I find that you pay for what you get and recommend this place for all pet lovers.

Today was our first time in this store, it’s relatively new to the area but I think it’s a great addition. I was expecting high prices and was shocked to notice that the dog food was $ 5 less per bag than local chain stores. We buy expensive dog food for our girls and every little bit helps.
The staff were very friendly, the selection is very good and the store was clean!
I would certainly comparison shop but this is a viable option for your pet needs!
