Red Canoe Credit Union

Satan would bank here. Horrific. They steal cash from their elderly customers and then lie and deny they did. They have stolen over $ 300 from my grandparents over the 5 years of being a member. The drive up window ladies stuff a $ 20 in their bras, the girl behind the counter drops a $ 20 and miscounts the cash. The employees are not only selfish but discriminative. The branch manager is a joke. Complaints go unheard and then turned back on us. They have a three strikes you’re out policy on debit card fraud. Their systems and website are from the 90s. Their 1 – 800 number customer service agents are dumber than a box of rocks… Every time we have dealt with Red Canoe it always ended in frustration or disappointment. We have horror stories to fill a book about this place. Save yourself the trouble and headache. We could not get away fast enough! There is no perfect bank, but many many others are far better than Red Canoe. Stay far away!

This place sucks. I came here because they are a credit union but customer service sucks. I was waiting for 20 minutes to open up a credit card with them and there was only three people and ALL three of them didn’t have a customer with them or help me. I was literally standing in the middle and they all ignored me. Until I went up to one of the associates and asked for help, she told me wait in the chairs. So I did. And I just stared at all them doing whatever they wanted to do. Finally, 35 – 40 minutes one of the lady told me to come over. She didn’t even get up or look at me. Just waved her hand and said «come here». And from there we discussed what I wanted and the interest etc etc and I remember I told her I wanted the premium awards credit card and when I got my card it was the regular card. Then when I went back I was stuck in this entire process again to get the answer they can’t take it back because I just opened it. I should’ve went to a different credit union.

After seeing the reviews I am glad I didn’t open an account. I walked in with over $ 10k in cash to deposit into a savings account. The online app told me to come on down to finish the opening process. I had my US passport, my ID, and my social security card in hand. I applied online at BECU, Seattle Metro, and Sound. I really didn’t want to drive into a branch so I was waiting on the status of the applications and they got back to me first. I went down there and was treated very poorly and even questioned as to why I tried opening an account with their competitors. I walked out and didn’t open an account. I told them I’d be going elsewhere. They just lost a big account with a lot of money.

There closed on Saturday? Wtf. Iv had so many frustrations with them. Currently looking for a new bank. They have one location in my area. Done with the frustration.

I like using Red Canoe. I had an account there with my mother for several years and I found the customer service excellent. I like the drive-​up ATM and the drive-​thru windows. There aren’t a ton of locations (I don’t even know of any others close by). But, this branch is relatively convenient to where I live and do errands, so it works well.
I recently decided to open up my own account there. I really like this place. Everyone is so helpful and friendly.

The place was of no help to me most of their branches do shared banking with other credit unions I driveway out-​of-​the-​way to go to this branch and they don’t offer it

I called ahead of time to try and set up a Savings account for my daughter to save time. Gave all the information to the Person on the phone. Came down to the Credit Union sat down for 5min after checking in. T2 other clerks that weren’t doing anything walked past me. Then a Clerk that was helping another couple walked up to me and told me how they had someone up and quit and how they were short staffed and I should go have lunch and then come back! I give them an A+ for informative info but a F for Customer Service!
