Great food in a neat restaurant. If you don’t like dead animals on the walls, then go away. If you want the quaint neighborhood restaurant making good home cooked meals, then go here! My hubby ate the open faced turkey sandwich with beans and applesauce. He said it was all good and he especially liked the applesauce. My cousin had the pot roast with green beans and tomato slices. She loved it all. I ordered the veggie plate, which means choose any 4 sides. I chose macaroni and cheese, broccoli, salad, and grits. Finally– I get to eat southern grits with butter. It was all good food. Our favorite was the cornbread that came on each plate. We were too full to get peach cobbler. I also saw someone’s fried chicken meal — I’d wish I’d ordered that! Oh well.

Service completely sucks, waitress took 15 minutes Then after taking our order she went to a 20 person table to take their order instead of putting ours in. Food was undercooked they had a lamb special I ordered my cousin ordered prime rib which was overlooked and they forgot his side. Disappointing.

After visiting most of the area restaurants, Marsh Landing is our favorite and best quality in the area!

Maybe it was just a bad day because I’ve heard great things. the catfish was fried very well, the two sides were barely warm. The collards were just so so in flavor. Definitely not the best I’ve ever had. Our appetizers of swamp cabbage finally came as we were done with our meal so we sent it back. I’ll give it three stars and try it again sometime when we are in the area.

As southern as it gets, as home cooked as it gets! The chicken biscuit at breakfast is delicious! Drinks come in mason jars which is an awesome touch. The fellsmere memorabilia on the walls and on the tables is very interesting to read and look at. There’s a darling little shop next door full of antiques and handmade items worth your time to stop in and look at. A very down home feel in this little town. Great hospitality.

Great home cooking and local history served up by friendly folks. I highly recommend their Cajun catfish dinner. Wash it down with sweet tea served in a Mason jar. Their hot homemade peach cobbler with ice cream will put a hurting on you… in a good way!

This place is very hit or miss for me. I feel as though it’s a bit overpriced for what your getting but everyone is super nice and generally I can’t say I’ve had a bad meal. Just a few that weren’t anything to write home about. There is a bunch of really great animal mounts and history in the building. It’s got some neat pictures of the area from a long time ago. I’ll go back… I won’t go out of my way though.

Stopped here for a quick breakfast on a Monday morning. Staff was very friendly and the place was quiet and clean. Really dug all the taxidermy and old-timey agriculture stuff on the walls. Pretty decent breakfast, quick and cheap

Pros: Food is good and a fair price. Cons: If you’re not a regular, you will be treated like an outsider.
My girlfriend and I walked in to try Bluegrass night. While waiting for the hostess to tell us there were no tables available, we got glares from a few of the regulars. We made reservations about two weeks later. When we walked in, we got glares again. We were shown our table, in a different room, against the back wall, in a corner. We came to see and hear live bluegrass, if I leaned back in my seat and looked left, I could see one of the band members head thru the doorway. We couldn’t hear the band when they talked to the elite members up front. It would be quite, then the front of the dining room would laugh or clap. We have no idea why. We could kind of hear them when they sang. Our waitress disappeared for about an hour. When she finally came back, she apologized by saying she was told to mingle with the crowd out front and make sure they were happy. We 2nd class citizens didn’t matter to the management. After 3 songs that we couldn’t really hear, we decided to leave. It felt like we weren’t welcome or wanted there. We were 2nd class people and they only cared about the 1st class people out front. IFYOUARENOT A REGULAR, YOUWILLNOTGET A GOODSEATORBETREATEDRIGHT. The owners can say their reservation system is fair, but when the same people are at the same tables every week, it’s not a fair system. We left feeling disrespected, ashamed and embarrassed.

The food is good southern food, with a few quirky items on the menu for the more adventurous, such as gator tail and frog legs. They now serve breakfast and we did enjoy that at the latest visit. Go on Thursday night for open bluegrass, it is a blast!

Excellent authentic southern food with real friendly southern hospitality. Don’t let the small town look put you off. This place is the real deal and it’s pretty amazing. A few dishes to consider: 1) the fried alligator is really good 2) the corn bread is out of this world 3) the swamp cabbage soup is incredibly good 4) be sure to get a piece if pie to finish it off… the chocolate peanut butter and the key lime are really good

Real florida food! Enjoyed the service as well. The meal started with our drinks served in mason jars(nice touch). The sweet tea was good, done right. We started with a taste of swamp cabbage as my partner hadnt had it before. It was fair, but i was just happy to see it offered. I ordered the whole fried catfish with macaroni and cheese and collard greens. The macaroni was very good, tasted like himemade. The greens needed a bit of seasoning but they had vinegar and hot sauce available. My partner had the shrimp and grits with green beans and black eyed peas, all were very good. I felt the shrimp and grits could have been a bit spicier. Overall the menu and quality really did justice to the claim of florida down home cooking. I would definately recommend.
