Adopt-a-Pet

I love this place. We adopted our first dog together from here and he has been amazing! The staff there are friendly, knowledgeable and love the animals. Could not ask for a better local shelter. I am actually going to start volunteering here because I love it so much.

I have done a bit of helping out here for community service-​type things, and if I were looking for a pet this is where I would look first.
Adopt-​a-​Pet is a completely non-​profit organization that tries to find homeless cats and dogs good, loving homes. No one is here for money — everyone at Adopt-​a-​Pet is devoted to, and loves, the animals. This place is a huge operation; they have extensive facilities including their own surgery room, many many areas/​private rooms to interact with/​play with the animals, and multiple dedicated dog runs including an agility course. They have a larger selection of felines and canines than most pet stores, and they all live in very, very good conditions.
The environment is very personal — they are not trying to just cycle through animals. The staff here genuinely care about them and want them to find well-​matched owners. I wish there were more places like Adopt-​a-​Pet, and one for exotic pets too!
