Andre’s is great! Greg, the coordinator of Andre’s West is there to help with every step to make wedding planning simple! The tasting event held by Andre’s is a great way to meet awesome vendors. I’m truly glad we decided to plan our special day at Andre’s West.

I’ve been to several different events at Andres West over the years including fundraisers and wedding receptions. I attended my cousins Wedding Reception here last night so this review is based on that and previous experiences. I have to say that the service is always excellent. The food is good, standard wedding fare. You get what you pay for, in this case the food was upgraded and included a roast beef carving station. Everything was hot and tasty. The atmosphere is great. Really high ceilings with lots of character, a great wood front bar, nice dance floor. It is an elegant space. The prices are incredibly affordable for receptions. They work with you on budget which is great for the bride who doesn’t want to break the bank. My one drawback is the liquor. The drinks are good but I believe they water down the liquor or short pour. I drank 3 or 4 amaretto sours and felt nothing(except full). They tasted great, like I said, but I wonder about how much if any alcohol was in them. I guess if you want to get a little tipsy, go for beer. Which was on tap or bottled. All in all, this is a nice venue for an affordable wedding reception.

I’ve been here twice. Once for a wedding reception and once for mouse races(yes, mice racing). The building is beautiful and clean. It’s very well kept. The restrooms are awkwardly placed though. It was a tad weird. Both events had an open bar but the availability was very limited. Only 3 types of beer, all Budweiser. The mixed drinks were pretty generic but ok I guess. The food both times have been pretty decent. The chicken was moist, the salad was delicious though a bit over saturated with Italian dressing… The servers were constantly moving around grabbing empty plates and cups off the tables. They kept things very tidy. Overall, I would consider this place if I ever had to host an event.

Recently attended a wedding reception here. There were several great things about it, and several disappointing things about it. All averaged out it was a-ok. Atmosphere: The space is very beautiful. Two storey main space, with an arch/italian-motif front wall. Large bar off on one side, and a gracious amount of dancing space up front(the groom could really cut a rug… so it was well tested). Unfortunately the band had to set up basically in front of the girls bathroom. This was a point of contention. Originally they set up so you could not even get in the bathroom, and then obviously moved a bit out of the way, though still inconvenient for access. The clear fix to this would be to set the band up exactly up front, where the arch wall is, but this is a problem if you want a head table at your wedding reception, which was the problem here. With other band related complications, the venue apparently would not allow them to set up the camera to video the toasts because of a limited number of outlets or not enough power or some other bogus sounding reason. Food: The food here was really quite good. The set up was a served salad and a buffet for the rest of the dinner. Likely you could do it another way, but this was the way this reception was set up. There was pasta, roast beef, and chicken, along with green beans, rolls and potatoes. My complaint would be that it seemed that every single food had bacon in it. Is this necessary? With three things on your plate(ok, four, but the roll had no bacon): pasta, green beans, chicken, it seemed like Iron Chef Challenge Bacon. But not as good or creative as that, more like Beginning Chef Bacon. In general though, the food was quite good, maybe just not all of it all together all at once. Service/Staff: I was not directly involved in deal with much of the staff, but I was privy to the first hand complaints about the service. The father of the bride basically was so disappointed with the way things were handled that he did not leave an extra gratuity at the end of the night. Which is very out of character. One of the larger problems here was the cake, which had several layers of problems: 1. no announcement about the cake cutting, 2. a long lag between the cake cutting and the serving of the cake, 3. no announcement of the serving of the cake, and probably one or two other cake related issues were present. This would normally seem like not a big deal, except ITS A WEDDING and one thing people spend a lot of time picking is: CAKE. Maybe it is an over-thought and overrated part of receptions, but until social norms change, the cake is kind of a big deal. Overall, as a regular guest there were obvious inconveniences and annoyances. But being on the inside of the goings ons, this place doesn’t really create the best stress reducing wedding day environment.
