Blake Floor Company

I had Blake refinish my hardwood floors recently and they did an excellent job. The job was done in 4 days, and now my floors look amazing. I wish I’d have hired them sooner. They had the best bid on my project as well.

I have used Blake Floor Company a few times over the past few years and they seem to have gone from a decent floor company with pretty poor customer service to a horrible company. The last time I called and sent in a contract to start on a floor job, they never showed up, and after two calls to the office secretary who told me the owner, Emil, would call me and never did, I chose another company to do the job. I had waited for two weeks past the start date they gave me and still no response from Emil. The office secretary was nice on this occasion but was sort of rude the other times I have talked to her over the years. As one of the other reviewers said, they do not update you on the job status at all. The quality of their work is decent, and their price is very low, which is the only saving grace of dealing with them. I guess you get what you pay for!

We have used Blake Flooring on four different house jobs in the last 10 years. All were homes with at least three rooms to be sanded and finished.
Every time has been a great experience with them and our floors could not look any better! The last job finished in July 2012 had some areas where wood planks had to be replaced along with an area covering about 2ft x 3ft were there was no wood at all. They did an excellent job and you can’t tell where the wood floor was missing. It blends right in.
We would definately use them again in the future.

I just bought a house in Glendale, MO and one of the only things that really needed work was my hardwood floors. Blake Floor did a great job filling in holes, getting most (of what I’m assuming were) pet stains our, and finishing the floors.
They finished my 2 bedrooms, a small hallway, living room and dining room. Because of the finish, it took a few days to complete the project (I believe they put three coats on my floors — each took a day to dry).
They missed a pretty large spot in the master bedroom, though, that was pretty obvious and should have been caught on a walkthrough. When I told them of the issue, it took a bit of convincing but they met me at the house at 8 am (not between 8am and 12 as originally proposed) to check out the spot. I’d already taken too much time off work to wait around for 4 hours just to make sure they got inside okay.
But they replaced the wood and it’s as if the random spot never existed! They also did a great job on the quarter round.
Because my house was vacant, I really wish someone would have called with an update at some point. Someone to say, «It’s about 3:30, we just finished the first coat, all looks well, hoping to be back early tomorrow to start on the second…» Basically, someone to confirm work had been done in the house without me having to go over and peak in a window because opening the door and walking around was out of the question.
Overall, I’m pleased with the work done.
