Dude… yum. Serious yum. Pretty much everything you get here is going to be amazing. We haven’t not liked a single thing yet. If you live far from Fenton like most people, it is worth the drive.

Just tried Crust for the first time on Saturday, and while it’s too early to be handing out any 5-star ratings, I will say, for certain, that they made a very positive first impression. My understanding is that Crust is linked via ownership to The Laundry in Fenton, which I’ve heard wonderful things about but also never tried. I was thinking about trying it instead of Crust, but due to time constraints as well as budgetary concerns, I decided to tip my toe in with Crust instead. Very glad I did, though trying The Laundry is still high on the list of places to try. I went to Crust in mid-afternoon, and as a result, they were out of some items they’d sold out of. Good news: they made pain au chocolat that day. Bad news: they sold out of it a while ago. Nuts. Them’s the breaks, though, kids: at least you can count on things you order being fresh. I can live with this, especially because I was there for heartier fare than that. I asked the pleasant young woman at the counter whether they made their bacon fresh for their BLT, and she said that while it was already cooked, they did warm it up, which was sufficient for me. We also discussed what bread it came on, and I preempted that choice to go with a different, more to my taste, kind of bread, which she agreed with. She also had no problem removing the Vermont cheddar cheese and replacing it with some bread-and-butter pickles. The sandwich came properly wrapped, and was a bit less than $ 8 out the door. I took it with me and ate it in my van, and I’ve gotta tell you: that sandwich was *every bit* of a B+ sandwich, scratching the surface of A– territory. Not just good, but great. Every part of that sandwich was shining nicely, even the tomato, which turned out to be a terrific tomato at this time of year. The whole sandwich was just such happiness, though… even the portion size was pretty good. It served to sate my hunger quite nicely, but the process of eating it was such a pleasure, as the flavor and texture was great. All of that to say that the food was great, the service was the same, and I’ll definitely be going back based on this experience. What a great first impression.

All the baked goods I’ve tried are really great. Love the Saskatoon Prarie Seed Bread. The pecan diamonds are also really amazing as are the ginger molasses cookies. The coffee is so so and the sandwiches are overpriced for what they are, but the pastries and bread are so exceptional they still easily get 5 stars.

Delicious bread! I have yet to try their other selections, but I will be back to try more soon. A little pricey, but as would be expected for a gourmet bakery.

Crust is a cozy place to go for breakfast or dinner. Everything is fresh and absolutely wonderful! The staff is always friendly and the music is good… oldies. Have not had anything to complain about here.

Service is horrible. I waited at least five minutes, then someone that walks in AFTER me gets helped BEFORE me? It doesn’t make sense! The girl saw me standing there the whole time, the man had one item that was a quick ring out, but still! I have patronized this business for a long, long time, and I expected better. Not to mention the manager tried to turn it and make it my fault, that I let him cut me in line! I did see him go up to the counter but I was the only one in the store besides the couple in front of me, for over 5 minutes. I was shocked that she rang him out before me. Horrible service as of 10−17−15 I will be talking to higher management.

Award winning bakery in downtown Fenton. Great knowledgeable staff. Everything is made from scratch and baked that day. Amazing baked goods! everything from bread, to donuts, to pies and cakes! Stephanie, the lead pastry chef, is truly talented and decorates cakes and cookies with such amazing precision and detail. Michael Green, the owner, is an amazing human being, talented, smart, and passionate about his work and employees. I worked there for a while and it was an amazing experience. The people are great and the food even better. My only complaint is that I gained a few pounds working there lol. Everything in this place tastes like it was sent down from the Gods! Recommendations: Pastry: Best croissants on earth! So buttery and flaky! Taste like the ones I got in France! Pie: The apple pie has 3lbs of apples in it! But the truth is that it is hard to go wrong with pie here, the dough is made from scratch and is absolutely incredible! Bread: My personal favorite is the Hammonton Round! Makes great sandwiches and is great toasted with butter. Cookies: Our double chocolate cookies are the !! Love those things! Doughnut: Our PB&J doughnut is the best! Our house-made 4 berry jam fills the inside of a delectable brioche doughnut which is then gazed with a peanut butter glaze and topped with chopped peanuts! Divine! **The cinnamon rolls are awards winning! They are sold by William Sonoma! **

So far this place has not disappointed! Peanut butter & jelly donut and their berry filled donuts are bomb. Honestly some of the best donuts I have had. Muffins are great. They have these cheesecake muffins that are amazing and their cheesecakes are great but if you are looking for a delicious and unique donut, this is the place! Check them out for yourself, you will not be disappointed!

This bakery is a great addition to Fenton. I’ve heard the owners are the same as The Laundry, which is a fun classy diner in town. The two are a perfect pair, lending fresh bread to the entrees and keeping the bakery busy. I usually get sliced white bread there but they have all kinds of bread, donuts, pies, scones etc. Typical bakery hours and friendly service. I’ve seen sandwiches on the menu but never tried one.

Talk about quality! The pretzel sticks are really good, the sourdough loaf is delicious, the challah bread is too good to be true. Personally, I like their croissants and muffins a lot, but their baguettes are probably the best. The cookies are also quite good, but I was expecting a bit more variety, but maybe I caught them at a time when they were just low on inventory and needed to bake more to put out. And now they have a stand at the Flint Farmer’s Market! As for the prices, it’s slightly expensive, but the breads are of artisinal quality. They offer a frequent customer rewards card, too, but it takes a long time to pay off.

I was in the area on business and decided to stop in based on the reviews I saw. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed. I ended up getting 3 different things, the turkey baguette, the buttermilk biscuit and a Chocolate Chunk cookie. The baguette was simple crispy and delicious. The salted butter added a nice touch of flavor. However, overall, it was nothing extraordinary. The biscuit was the most disappointing out of the three. It was a very unique shape, but it was grossly undercooked. The center was completely raw and I ended up tossing it in the snow. Finally, the cookie was crispy with a nice hit of salt, sweet and butter. That said, it too was nothing special. The bakery itself is very cute, and there was a large window where you could watch them actually make all the baked goods. All in all, I feel this place does a good job, but not good enough to make a special trip back.

I finally was able to stop by at this bakery after hearing great things about their bread, pastries, sandwiches, etc. My friend and I went on Sunday since they make fresh to order beignets but sadly they were only serving them from 8AM-10AM and we came in quarter after 10. So, instead, I spent probably a good 15 minutes trying to decide what to get. In the end, I got a brioche glazed donut and #6 on the lunch menu, a turkey baguette with Vermont cheddar and sea salt butter. The sandwhich was absolutely delicious! I love the crunch on the French baguette and the fact that you can actually taste the cheddar and not some processed cheese, was just amazing. I wanted to buy a second one to take home with me! Their donut was so light and fluffy, and such a large piece that I had to save the other half. It wasn’t your regular circle donut, but a square, almost rectangular one. The glaze on it was just the right amount of yum to balance the donut. So before coming here, I ‘ve made a stop to their location at the Flint Farmers Market before. Needless to say, their caramel apple pie(seasonal) was tasty as well. I loved the crisp of the crust, which is my favorite part. The filling was delicious and very generous on the amount of apple slices in the pie as well. Lastly, had their coffee cake before, and honestly can say, again, loved it! The overall environment of the place was friendly. Very busy for a small place, but who wouldn’t make their way to Crust? The place has a nice rustic look, wish they opened later or they would be my new Panera! Definitely going there again to try more delectables.

Crust is one one of the reasons Fenton is a food lovers paradise. My understanding is that the folks that own the French Laundry own Crust. It is fabulous! Fresh made breads, bagels/bialy’s, doughnuts, pretzels, doughnuts, pies, granola, cakes, croissants, muffins and even dog biscuits! Last time I came in I bought a croissant for my husband and a onion bialy for myself. Both were very good the next day. They also have quite an extensive menu of hot and cold sandwiches made on their breads. I’m not sure if they take credit(at one time they didnt), but if they still don’t, they have an ATM in the restaurant. It’s worth a stop!

Best homemade bread around. Known for their desserts. We go to the flint farmers market to purchase from them but the actual bakery has a much better selection.

I love Crust, for the most part. Food and atmosphere is great, people are cool. Love that they are right in the middle of town. My only complaint is that the service is occasionally sloooooow. Often a worker behind the counter will be busy fixing the presentation of the product behind the glass and leave the customer waiting needlessly, or so it seems. Perhaps it’s a strategy so your eyes can take more in and get you to really open up your wallet. Great place to go as long as you’re not in a rush. Once went in for coffee and they were out. Pro tip: don’t scrimp for the day old stuff packaged up in bags, pay more and get the fresh product.

Spectacular bakery. The best sourdough in Michigan. They sell tubs of their salted butter — GETTHIS. That + the sourdough and you’re in heaven. We have had several of their pies and they are also very very good. The cookies are fantastic. The only thing I have not tried are their doughnuts, can’t wait to do so!

i’m really at 3.5 stars. Some things are GREAT but my experience has been very inconsistent. Bug bars are always great. The breads are uniformly really good. Pies are often great. But, I had an apple«cronut» that was super heavy/doughy and sweet. Threw it out. Small apple pie that I took home had an undercooked crust. Just not good.

A few weeks ago I tried to give up carbs. It lasted about 5 hours. But how can I do that when I know delicious baked goods like the ones Crust churns out exist in the world? It’s damn near impossible, I tell you! So, yeah. I strolled into Crust on Friday night, a half hour before closing time, on a mission. And that mission? To get a lot of stuff. Crust, you see, isn’t terribly close. It’s not super far either but I don’t usually find myself out by Fenton on the regular so this was my first time stopping in(not first time trying, though! As Crust sells at a number of local outposts like Westborn Market and Argus Farm Market here in AA). I was on my way to a conference in Saginaw and decided, as I passed the«Fenton in 2 miles» signage, that I needed to check it out. Firstly – OMG. Secondly – for a bakery that was closing in just 30 minutes they had a ton of stuff. Practically every bread they had to offer that day, donuts, cronuts, croissants, cookies and more. I was overwhelmed. I was spellbound. I got my mom a few loaves of bread(as she is the only person I know who loves bread more than me) myself one sourdough a box of pastries – rose hips cronuts, apple pie cronuts, a peanut butter and jelly doughnut, a brioche doughnut, and two croissants. Since it was just shy of dinner time I also decided to get a sandwich which I inhaled quickly so I wouldn’t hold up closing time. Ham and cheese with a little salted butter on a french baguette. Served just a little warm. HEAVENLY. It was simple but made so so delicious by their incredible bread. They also have coffee, breakfast sandwiches, salads and at least a dozen more sandwich options if you feel like noshing on more than just sweets or bread. But man, they’re worth the trip alone. The gals behind the counter were SO awesome and gave me great recommendations when I was pleasantly frozen by all the options. Prices are also fairly reasonable given the product. It’s pricier than a lot of bakeries but the portions are HUGE and the quality is certainly worth the additional cost. Already counting down the days… hours…minutes until my next visit.

Boy do I love me some Crust. So much so that my stepdad ships me an assortment of paczki from Crust for Mardi Gras every year because I moved out of state(and didn’t realize that paczki are a tradition that is fairly isolated to the Detroit area). When I am visiting family in Michigan I have frequented Crust and I’ve never been disappointed with their baked goods. Maybe a little pricey for the area, but sooooo worth it!
