I’m by no means a sushi aficionado, but found the White Tuna Sashimi to be as good as any I’ve had in some of South Florida’s swankiest Japanese restaurants! The atmosphere and décor were quaintly chic, yet unpretentious and our waitress was sweet, friendly, efficient and courteous. My wife’s Beef Mei Fun and my Seafood Mei Fun we good, not spectacular. But the Japanese Beer topped off a very nice dinner out, and I’d definitely visit again and try something else on the menu. I would gladly recommend this restaurant to others.

The sushi here has high quality and fresh every time. You should give yourself a chance to stop by and try when you shop in Publix. I like their sushi chef special! It’s really good!

Thank the Lord. I’ve found a quality sushi restaurant in Fernandina Beach! I’m giving this 5 stars in comparison to the other sushi restaurants on the island. It is by far the best. Owner/chef Aaron, who recently took over Hanna sushi, has big city experience and it shows in both the taste of food but also his elegant presentations. If you are on the island and want some quality sushi this is the place to go. We went on a Tuesday evening a bit late. We were the only ones in the restaurant which at first made us a bit nervous. I went on my gut though and was oh so glad that we gave it a shot. I hope the word gets out about this big town talent on our quaint island.

Me and my mom LOVE this place! We used to go at lease twice a month until we moved to Indiana, and now we miss this place sooooooo much. When you walk in the door the employees have a smile on their face and take you too your seat. It is pretty small but it’s very nice inside. First you get a drink then you can order. As your food is getting ready you can watch the chief make your sushi. The food is amazing and if you can go during lunch I would suggest the bento box. When your done with your food you MUST try the fried cheesecake, that’s the thing I miss most. And when your check arrives you realize it’s very affordable. Well anyways I highly recommend this place over fancy sushi any day and if you can, ask how lily is doing

Great sushi. Went twice on my 4 day business trip. Would definitely go back! Get the hot mama and the sexy jalapeños if you like it spicy!

We ordered the $ 30 dinner for 2. It was good but I would just go for the special rolls next time. And there will be a next time because the special rolls are great! The special was an appetizer, soup & salad, 2 rolls or entrees, dessert. The appetizer, crab rangoon, disappointed because I couldn’t see or taste any crab. And it was served with a side of spicy mayo, and I’ve nearly always had it with a delicious plum sauce. Imagine dipping fried cream cheese in mayo… Anyway, soup and salad were average, nothing special. I did like the dessert we chose, which was fried bananas. These were so sweet and the crispy outside, which complimented the sweet, soft banana inside. Can’t wait to go back!

We came here because the place(highly rated) across the street was booked solid. And there’s a reason we were able to get a table right away. MEDIOCREFOOD prepared by unfriendly/stoic sushi chefs who clearly had bed head and goodness knows how many other hygiene violations. The place looked unkept and the table had that«not really clean» essence that you see in mom and pop places. Our server was good and the food came out on a timely basis, but it was not good enough to offset everything else. I wouldn’t come back and oh, sushi chef, it’s called shampoo.

I have been to Hana Sushi twice now and both times the food was excellent !! I have had the chicken fried rice and about 4 different sushi rolls, all makes want to come back for more. My husband and I can’t wait to go back again, next time we will bring friends so they can enjoy the great food.

Terrible miso soup — didn’t even taste like any miso soup I’d ever had. I had 3 maki rolls — thank goodness I didn’t order sushi or sashimi. The rice didn’t taste like sushi rice and the salmon, tuna and yellow tail, tasted as if it had just been unfrozen from the fish department at Publix next door; This was substandard in all respects. A waste of time, taste and money.

It was good but not that wonderful. The food was really good. The waiters didn’t really speak much English and couldn’t understand what I was ordering. The restaurant was small in general and a tad crowded. But the free cake was a plus.

Hana Sushi is borderline«A-OK» for me, but unfortunately, toward the two star«Meh.“I’ve experienced better» side. So more like a 2.5 star for me. Our party of four went on a Saturday late afternoon for an early dinner. The service was very awkward. My guess is that both servers were new. As someone commented, the restaurant is very small, with tables next to each other, separated by partitions. Here is the thing though… when the restaurant only has one other table occupied, DON’T seat your customers next to that table. I mean, really, the restaurant is small, but there were still other empty tables. Why would you want to cluster your customers? As soon as I sat down, I knew that this would not work. I could hear guy next to me on the other side of the partition breath… I mean, it was like having an intimate meal, sharing a plate, that’s how close we were sitting. So I immediately requested to move to another table. Now the food… My husband and I ordered a sushi dinner and then two additional large/special rolls to share. The sushi dinner stated x number of sushi plus a special roll. When it came, the ‘special’ roll was a simple tuna avocado roll… ok, that’s a little like false advertising to me. But oh well. The sushi weren’t the greatest… the ratio a bit strange in that the rolls were tiny with very very little sushi rice. The rolls with your traditional seaweed wrap on the outside, for example, the tuna avocado roll, then has this big piece of seaweed, teeny bit of rice, fish and avocado. Resulting in that the seaweed dominating that bite of sushi. The two rolls we ordered each came with a huge plate, plus the big plate of sushi dinner we ordered… which was another awkward moment when the servers brought those dishes to us since they had to move things around to fight for precious real estate. My sister ordered salmon and shrimp habachi entrée and my brother in law ordered a bento box. Their meals actually were pretty good. I kept stealing my sister’s shrimp and salmon. The shrimp was big and plump and cooked just right(i.e. not overcooked). Our servers(I think due to inexperience) hovered over us the entire time. It’s unfortunate that they were trying to be very helpful and friendly, but that resulted in us feeling like there were people staring at us the whole time we were eating. Not to mention, they were trying to quickly clear our table every time we set our chopsticks down, even though we weren’t done eating yet. Too much service, if there is such a thing, that we kept getting interrupted when having a conversation. But they were very friendly, just need a bit more training. Overall, it’s not likely I’ll return to Hana anytime soon. Their cooked meals definitely outshines their sushi, in my opinion.

Go to Fancy Sushi across the street :( This place is unfortunately too small and you will be involuntarily eavesdropping on everyone in the restaurant.

Sushi was amazing. We ordered dynamite and the spider roll. Absolutely delicious. First time we’ve had the spider roll. Would eat there again. Though our order was take out, Restaurant looked nice and clean.

Best sushi on the island, hands down. Great special rolls– Hana always has something different, and staples like the spider roll(my favorite) are consistently really good. Bento boxes are a great value if you don’t feel like sushi. Don’t waste your time going any where else on the island for sushi – Hana is the best.
