Barb’s Pies and Pastries

Barb’s individual mini-​pies were perfect for our office party. I called in an order for 2-​dozen and couldn’t be happier with the quality and packaging. And they were ready right on time!

There is honestly nothing better than one of Barb’s tasty treats! I’m not usually a fan of cupcakes, but I tried one of Barb’s and I was hooked. Her recipes are so amazing. The staff is great and so willing to work with whatever request you have. Would definitely recommend!

Barbs has amazing stuff! We have used her for so many birthday parties and other celebrations. All of her stuff is delicious!!! Emily her cake designer is incredible with wedding cakes. They are my go to for my own desserts and I recommend them to all of my clients for their wedding cakes and dessert bars. You can’t go wrong coming here for your dessert needs.

Crashed a wedding recently and ate some wedding cake, OMG, this cake was fantastic, not too sweet, very moist, and the flavor was out of this world. Met Barb and she is a definite, hands on, one of a kind, baker. This is a definite MUST try if you go to Ferndale !!!

I don’t go to Ferndale often, but the last time I went, I saw the shop and told myself I need to save room for dessert after I check out Chihuaha. What caught my attention was the checkered, non fancy old fashion sign. When it comes to pies I like Grandma’s recipe types, not the gourmet, perfectly cut out, glazed French style that is popular in bigger cities. I ordered a caramel apple pie a la mode, Edaleen ice cream for my daughter, 3 iced sugar cookies and a caramel apple pie a la mode. Her pie crust has oats in them, and it was pretty good. The crust isnt as flaky as I like and the apples arent as tart or crisp but it probably wasn’t apple season yet. Overall, If am in Ferndale again, I would come and get my pie fixin and sugar cookies. Good place and stays open late.

Barb made our wedding cakes this summer. She did a fantastic job creating delicious, beautiful cakes that our guests complimented repeatedly. Her pricing was quite a bit lower than we would have received anywhere else, and we felt that the products were just as good, if not better.
There is a vast array of options that she can create, and if you aren’t really sure what you want, she can help guide you to delicious selections. Her white cake with buttercream frosting is really good. I usually hate the light, airy white cake typical of weddings, but hers is dense and moist and filling. The presentation of the cakes was outstanding too. We wanted them to look nice without being super intricate, fondant creations. She completely hit the mark on the presentation.
We had ordered 12 vegan cupcakes, and apparently these were forgotten the morning of our wedding, so when my parents went by to pick up the cakes, there were no cupcakes. However, they whipped up a batch there on the spot and had them done in 30 minutes. Pretty impressive, despite the annoyance of their being forgotten.

Great baked goods! My favorite is coconut cream pie, my son’s is peanut butter chocolate pie.

Awesome pies and desserts! Great service everytime I go. I will not get my pie anywhere else. This is as good as it gets! Did I say awesome pie and desserts?

When you live in a state that has an embarrassment of fresh fruits like we do, there’s simply no excuse for pies that don’t use local ingredients. Period. This bakery also uses pure extracts in their baked goods, proper butter and oil without trans fats. They offer a plethora of fresh fruit options according to season and when I stopped in, I picked up a gorgeous Strawberry Rhubarb. They also sell pies without sugar added and for any order over $ 75.00, they will deliver the items for free!
Stop in if you’re in the area, I guarantee that you’ll love their baked goods.

Delicous, all real ingredients, and tastes as good as the cakes my Mom used to make. Great prices, beautiful wedding cake designs, and you couldn’t ask for nicer service!
