My wife had been wanting to try Dickey’s and wanted to go there for her birthday dinner. We went on a Wednesday around 6:00 pm. There was one person that had ordered before we got there. Two people working behind the counter working on the first order. We stood there for at least 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged we were there and let us know he would be with us shortly. We each ordered the three meat combo. I had smoked turkey, brisket and pulled pork. Wife had ribs, pulled pork and brisket. The food temps ranged from cool to luke warm, although the sauce is served separate and is hot. The turkey appeared to be processed, and was basically flavorless and mushy. The brisket would have been ok if it was hot, but was a little on the dry side. Wife’ ribs were a very small portion and didn’t have a lot of flavor. The pulled pork was ok, but would have been better hot. The guys working there were friendly. The potato salad side was acceptable, the jalapeño in the beans overwhelmed the beans and all I tasted was jalapeño. Wife had fried okra that tasted like deep fry batter. Total for our meals including her soda was around 32.00. Wife says we won’t be back there.

Friendly folks behind the counter. Very helpful with a food allergy. Pork and brisket were moist and had a great flavor. Will be back!

A good meal, at a reasonable price, with plenty of food. My son and I each ordered the Big Barbecue sandwich with two sides. The total for our meal was $ 20.54, which was a reasonable price for the two of us to have dinner. When you order the Big Barbecue you have a choice of meat. I ordered the beef brisket, and I had a choice of sliced or chopped meat. I selected chopped, however next time I think I would go with sliced as the chopped meat tends to fall out of the the sandwich. The Big Barbecue comes with sliced onion and pickles. I also ordered a side of potato salad and onion tanglers. The onion tanglers were like thin, stringy onion rings, and were very good. Next time I think I would put some of these in my sandwich. Near the soda dispenser you will find the barbecue sauce. Traditional, sweet and hot. The sweet and hot were very good, but I didn’t try the traditional. On Sunday, they have a kids eat free(12 and under) special, however that didn’t help me as I was there with my 16 year old son. If you have kids 12 years old or less they can get a free meal on Sundays. Free ice cream, yes indeed. They have a self-serve soft-serve ice cream machine, and it is free. After finishing the meal with the hot BBQ sauce the ice cream was nice. They also have a catering menu, so if you want barbecue at your next event, give it a try. I will certainly return to Dickeys Barbecue Pit, and look forward to the opportunity to try their family packs or catering sometime.

Great food and kids eat free on Sunday! This has rapidly become one of our go to places to eat in Ferndale. The pulled pork, spicy cheddar sausage and sweet tea are the best.

I have eaten here many times before and the food is always good. Today I placed an order online for an extra large family pack when I went to pick it up I was told they were out of ribs. Please tell me how a barbecue restaurant can be out of ribs? Somebody did a crappy job of planning. He told me «We had a very large catering order today» Well I’m sorry but that doesn’t help me the consumer.

Went there a couple weeks after they opened. Food was good but wouldn’t feed a bird. Totally disappointed, I’ll never go back. Way too expensive for the portion.

It was OK. We wouldn’t go back as the brisket and the pulled pork were WAY too smokey. The chicken on my salad was dry and smokey as well, I think smoke ruined the flavor they were trying for. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the facility was clean. The sides are great.

Returned here for lunch last week. «Sorry, we are out of brisket today» What? Employees looked like they were put out when customers came through the door. I wonder if they realize how they get paid? We won’t be back!

Fast food BBQ! I’m not really sure what I expected, I’ve never been to this chain until recently. A bit pricey for serving sizes… more bread than inauthentic bbq meat. But hey! I’ll meat in the middle for star-rating because it’s new & this area could use more bbq & fast food options alike! I was STOKED to see fried okra as a side, but quickly disappointed with how bland they were. I’m convinced there wasnt even a grain of salt, let alone seasoning in the batter. Bummer. Pros: lots of side options. Smokey meat.

Cute place with pretty good bbq. The ribs have a good flavor, but can tend to get a little overdone due to sitting in the warmer. The pulled pork wasn’t bad but wasn’t great either, as the flavor didn’t stand out and it was chewy due to being in the dry side of where pulled pork should be. The chopped brisket sandwich was fantastic, whereas the sliced brisket(I had on another visit) was overdone and too dry. The service is friendly, the sides were great(try the baked potato casserole) and the all you can eat frozen yogurt cones is a nice touch for the kids.

The best biscuit ever! It was so delicious and so was the pulled pork. I ordered the fried okra which was surprisingly fresh but I wished there was a sauce that came with it for dipping. We ordered the plate of the day and I felt the prices were very fair and the young kids working the counter were friendly. My family and I will be back.

Expensive. We ordered online and when I went to pick up our food they didn’t have it ready even though I had stated the time I was going to pick up. They also missed an item so I had to wait a little while longer. Seemed a little unorganized. The kid behind the counter was apologetic and told me their online ordering was new and they were short staffed at the time. Food wasn’t bad after all so we may give it another try.

Unbelievably bad. It all starts with a person behind the counter… you know the one behind the order here sign… that didn’t seem the least bit interested in taking my order followed by a rather confusing method of ordering sides. Just bad service. Since it was take out, I didn’t find out until home that I didn’t get the sides I ordered and what I did get amounted to greasy, soggy and over salted onion rings. Then there is the BBQ… Basically, it was the worst BBQ I’ve ever tasted. The brisket was very dry and tasteless. The cheese sausage tasted like rancid fat and the chicken had a slightly chemical taste on top of being very dry. I have never written any reviews, but signed up to Unilocal to try and help others from wasting their money at this place as it could really use a visit from Gordon.

Not impressed. The pork ribs(their only rib offering) were nice and smokey, tender but a tad dry. The BBQ chicken was just breast meat, spicy breast meat. I was hoping for a whole or half bird. We ordered Potato salad, onion twisters and mac&cheese. The potato salad was weirdly dill flavored, onion twisters under-cooked and soggy, the mac & cheese was bland but acceptable. The restaurant itself was very cramped and poorly laid out and dirty. The staff was nice though, 2 stars for good service.

I just love this place!!! I think I’m many cases it’s better than most BBQ I’ve had in Texas! Portions are perfect even for a fat guy like me!
