Love this bar. It’s dark, dimly lit and wood paneling abounds and it takes me right back to my childhood when my dad would take me to a bar and I’d play pool or shuffleboard while he had a few with his work buds. The pizza here is outstanding; see the pic I uploaded. LOOKITTHATGLORIOUSPIZZA. Beers are cheap; like my friend said, ya get a damn gallon of beer for three fiddy. Not a lot of craft beers,(they do have Bells 2 hearted) but did I mention, cheap? There are also 2 pool tables and a shuffleboard to keep you amused if the people watching gets old(hint: it won’t) I’ll be back.

I’ve been to Stop Spot a few times, but recently after running a search for good pizza in the area Stop Spot surprisingly stood out on Unilocal.Place doesn’t look like much. It’s a straight-up dive, but it’s got all the comforts of a solid dive. Keno, pool, darts, shuffleboard. Cheap drinks and surprisingly good pizza. We came with the intention of trying the pizza and as others have said, the pizza at Stop Spot is solid. I think they must use a NY style pizza oven where the pizza actually sits on the oven itself and not a conveyor. I could be wrong, but that’s how I think their crust gets so crispy. It’s like a NY-style pizza had a pizza baby with«normal» round pizza. The crust is really crispy on the bottom, but it’s still light and doughy on top. It took quite a while for the pizza to come out… that is my only gripe, but in their defense the place was jammed on a Saturday night. It was worth the wait. Prices were on point, too. Stop Spot isn’t a place that’s always on my radar since it’s off the beaten path a little, but I might think about taking the detour a little more often now.

Might find this hard to believe because it is a dive bar, but really, BESTPIZZAINTOWN. Nothing else compares. I eat a lot of pizza and when we want to get pizza we order from here. Also a nice spot to have a few drinks but the pizza, ughhhhhh, pizza pizza pizza. Order a pizza. Also, nice staff. But that pizza!!!

Decent food, good prices, cold beer, but no bike parking. And the music was so loud I could barely hear myself think!

Holy Pizza Goodness! Pizza is unfortunately part of my dietary restrictions but I took one for the team that night. Good god, I don’t know if it’s because I haven’t had pizza in forever or what but this place has one of THE best pizza’s I have ever had. It’s the crust and the parmesan sprinkles on top that put me into a straight up euphoria. The waiting for an hour for the pizza wasn’t the best part but I did get to witness the awesomeness of karaōke. And believe me it was awesome. It made the time fly by for sure.

Used to come in here a lot with the guys back in the day burgers were fair and price was normal sad to say I never had the pizza that will probably be one of the only reasons to come back that side of town for us it was always hit or miss we were probably there during the day mostly for lunch and the barmaid working was always extremely short and krass and when we wanted to place our full order she said no you have to wait give me your drinks first and walk back behind the bar return with the drinks and left to have a cigarette then come back for the food order but when we went closer to the evening there was definitely A cuter long blonde hair thicker gal in her mid-thirties who made the night for all of us laughing joking and quick fast service definitely would go back if she was bartending like most neighborhood joints it’s all about the bartender when you stop in if we could split our review I would say a solid 4 on the divey regular bar feel and Carol H is right definitely remind you of Moe’s Tavern on The Simpsons but gotta give us 3 on service for the daytime barmaid definitely made us not go there quite a few times probably would have doubled our trips there but give it a shot

The pizza. The pizza, The Pizza, THEPIZZA. That coupled with cheap drinks and two experiences now with bartenders who had great senses of humor have definitely added this to the«Yeah, I’m going to be here quite a bit» list. Doesn’t hurt that it’s a two minute drive from our studio, so this is the new de facto hang out spot. My love for dive bars is pretty well established, and this definitely fits into that category. From the semi-rundown interior to the single speaker radio, this is the kind of place my grandfather used to hang out in, and you need places like that in your life. Add in the killer pizza, and you’ve got yourself a good night.

What can I say about this place. Well, first, the drinks are cheap and there is cheep pool & shuffleboard. On our visit it happened to be kearokee, so my husband got to sing me a few songs(which I eat up like a little school girl). We ordered the nachos, and they were actually pretty good for being nachos. My only complaint is that the service was a little slow(the waitress forgot to bring our drinks a couple times) and some of the regulars think they own the place and were total douche’s(literally bullying some guy who had had too much to drink, and tried forcing more liquor down him so they could make fun of him some more by taking pictures and video of him. I mean, grow up dude! Your like 30). I don’t rank the bar based on the disappointing behavior of other patrons, but 3 stars for this place due to the slow service(we noticed our server was spending more time singing and smoking outside instead of serving).

I can only speak to what this place is like on a Tuesday night, so you’ll all just have to deal with it. I have passed by this place many times, but never gone in. Well, my date suggested we meet up there for food and drinks. Loving a dive bar, I was all about it. The place was clean, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the prices were reasonable. However, the hot and spicy chicken wings and the pizza were OUTSTANDING. The wings were nice and crispy and not at all slimy, which is the grossest thing wings can be. The pizza. What do they do to it? It’s no frills, but so tasty. The crust is super yummy, the cheese is the best cheese I have ever had on a pizza, the pepperoni were numerous, and it was cooked perfectly. I probably would have eaten half of the pizza, but I didn’t want to gross out my date. I will be back, because I can foresee the day that I physically crave that pizza.

Stop Spot is the archetypal dive bar; in that you’ll find dim lights, fun games, honest libations, jovial folks and loud rock music. But there is one thing that sets this bar apart from others of its kind: PIZZA. yes, PIZZA. Some of the best dang PIZZA in the ‘Dale. Worth every star. Some friends told us about this place, so we decided to give it a try and WOW. We’re total fans now. First, you get the basket with plenty of napkins, silverware, red pepper and parm shakers. Then the pizza comes out: gooey, generously topped, crust all crispily covered in parmesan cheese. Chain pizza be damned. Come here instead and spend the same $ for taking much better care of your taste buds. If you aren’t in the mood for divey classic rocky, get your ‘za to go!

It’s a little divey, which I’m usually not a fan of, but we go often for their shuffleboard, and usually end up staying for a game or two of pool. We go early enough that we can usually get good dibs on both(arriving around 8ish), and are out in time avoid the karaōke!(It’s fine for karaōke, we’re just not fans.)

I’ve come here many times. Service is a hit or miss. There are 2 really nice blonde ladies who hit a home run if you manage to get them but they mostly work at night. If you’re there during the day, don’t count on the daytime bartender lady being too friendly. It’s a running joke amongst our friends who frequent this place on how rude she is and not in the Farouk kind of way. We still came for the pizza regardless and always hoping for the two nice ladies. Yep, that good. Unfortunately, this last time our pizza slid off of the stand it was on, toppling to the bar floor. The younger, blonde bartender informed us there was nothing they could do for us, even though we had only eaten 2 pieces of the 12 piece pizza. No new pizza, no discount, nothing! We left very hungry and I can no longer say that I find visiting here justifiable, even though it is blocks from my house. The pizza is no longer that good.

My favorite pizza place in the metro Detroit area. The toppings are fresh, the crust is perfectly crispy, and the price is amazing. The bar itself isn’t very big so it can get crowded quickly, but the karaōke, shuffle board, and pool table makes it a really fun place on any night of the week.

Really good pizza… Best in the area. The kind you crave for and doesn’t taste like they use cheap ingredients. Crust, sauce, cheese– all yum! Kinda bummed I called and they said I had to call back in an hour to order a pizza cuz they were busy and on break. Pretty odd. 4 stars, 5 for the pizza, minus 1 for service. Haven’t actually hung out there yet, so I’ll write another review when I do.

This pizza is, by far, my absolute favorite! I’m so used to shitty pizza chains that I never knew pizza could be this good. It’s even cheaper than the shitty pizza chains too! I get so excited when I order it, because when it’s almost ready they bring out the basket of pizza supplies-silverware, Parmesan cheese, red pepper, salt&pep, etc. The first non-edible item that’s ever made me salivate! I love this pizza oh so much. I love this pizza for dinner or lunch. I love this pizza more than sex. Maybe cause I’m a fatty but also maybe because this pizza is the shit. I personally take offense to anyone citing another restaurant as the«best pizza,» and insist that they try Stop Spot whenever I hear that nonsense. Okay enough about the pizza. Karaōke is fun, but be warned, the KJ(karaōke jockey) likes country and country sometimes snowballs in the karaōke world. But who cares? Go for the pizza.

I’m giving stop spot five stars solely on their pizza. I can’t say anything about any of their other menu items, because I haven’t had them, cuz I always get the pizza. It’s not really my type of place to hang out, but from time to time, I’ll belt out some karaōke there. But their pizza… holy crap. Easily the best pizza in the ferndale/royal oak area. Actually, it’s my second favorite pie I’ve ever had in michigan(second only to Amars in Hamtramck). The cheese is melts and stringy and doesn’t slide off the slice, pulling the toppings with it. Idk if their pizza sauce is made in house, but it’s fantastic. The dough is good too. I even eat the crust, which is crispy on the outside and light and fluffy inside. Those are the three most important things on a good pizza. Their large is massive. It’s larger than an XL at most pizza chains. They don’t skimp on toppings either. In fact, they’re very heavy handed. It’s like you get double toppings. And it’s insanely cheap. A large(XL basically) loaded with 3 toppings comes to $ 15. It’s basically 2 – 3 meals for my girlfriend and myself.

Locals know what’s up at the Stop Spot. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but when you get inside, it’s like heaven for hipsters. Order the pizza and I promise you won’t be disappointed, it’s deceptively delicious. The karaōke and cafeteria length tables almost ensure you’ll be mingling and meeting new friends. We always have a fun time here and the only thing that sucks is that the parking lot is usually full on a Friday or Saturday night.

My gf and I stumbled on to this place via Unilocal and it was really fun! Be warned, this place is not modern or hip so if you want to get all dressed up, then you should save it for another place. This place is very very casual. It’s more like a mix between a pub and a pool hall. Decent drinks and pretty cheap too! Karaōke on Fridays which was insanely fun!
