Sullivan Cleaners

I would go lower if i could. DO NOT SEND ANY CLOTHES HERE FOR ALTERATIONS OR DRY CLEANING. They ruined a suit of mine and then still made me pay for the alterations. By far the worst dry cleaners I have ever been to. DO NOT GO HERE.

I took a pair of pants to Sullivan for hemming. The pants had never been worn, and were in perfect, brand new condition. When I got the pants home and put them on, the pants were significantly discolored in several locations, front and back. I took the pants back to Sullivan to request that they make the problem right. They insisted that they had done nothing wrong, and that I must have washed them wrong or left them in the sun. Firstly, I did not remove the pants from the hangar they sent them home on – they sat in my closed closet until I put them on and discovered the damage. Secondly, I don’t think a pair of expensive designer pants pants would have rounded, liquid-​spill-​shaped sun fading after having been in the sun for the 10 minute drive from the cleaner to my home, especially since the majority of the discoloration was on the front, which was «inside» folded on the hangar.
The staff at Sullivan absolutely insisted that they were not at fault, that I had damaged the pants once I got them home, and that they would take no action to make things right. When I told them that I had not removed the pants from the hangar, they responded with «You must have.» When I told them I would stop using their service (I had previously taken about 10 – 15 shirts there every month with generally good results – I did find collars tended to be wrinkled, and I did have one shirt I believe was lost there, but I cannot verify it as I didn’t count before I left the building) they showed no interest in retaining my business.
I strongly recommend you find another dry cleaner. I’m sure there are several in the area, and most will likely not damage your clothes. Or if they do, I would expect most would take responsibility, rather than lose your business.

I would give this place four stars, but I’m not exactly sure what a drycleaner could do to make me say, «Yay! I’m a fan.» Well, I guess if I had some weird stain to get out and they took it out and had it ready in an hour — that would be impressive.
But, all I’ve ever done at Sullivan Cleaners is take some sweaters, dresses, pants, etc. in dirty, and gotten them back clean. I will say that they didn’t chastise me for the inch-​thick layer of cat fur on everything.
They are always friendly, and they can look up your ticket by your phone number. Good experience, never had a problem.
