I am a single mom, and decided to take my girls for an extra fancy dinner. I was really disappointed that such a fancy place did not have a separate entrance. It really ruined the experience to walk through clouds of cigarette smoke to such a fancy dining experience. I liked the old– school fancies of the palette cleanser, and the silver dish covers. But the expensive price matched the proposed atmosphere of the restaurant but not the food. We were greeted with a free crab dip at the table that was riddled with shell. Our steaks were cooked well, but not a stand out for the price. This is definitely a casino steak house, meant for high rollers, not for someone looking for modern high end dining experience.

Unfortunately I never had the chance to rate this establishment based on their food. A group of associates and I made reservations not once but twice to have a company dinner at this restaurant. The first time we were unable to dine at the Steak House because of adverse weather conditions which temporarily knocked out power to the casino, so they had no choice but to close due to health code. We decided to rescheduled, we called later that week to reschedule our dinner, we left the reservation and even called again closer to the reservation date to reconfirm. The night of the dinner we were turned away at the front door because they had, «no record» of our reservation and could not accommodate us. It’s not the fact that someone made an honest mistake and the reservation was overlooked, we’re all only human after all, but managments lack of acknowledgement for the mistake, therein lay the problem. Never attempted to amend the issue or even give an apology, just an apparent lack of caring. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone and will never return personally.

This is handily the best steakhouse in Western Washington. There really isn’t any comparison, it’s simply on another level. From the moment you walk in the door, you are treated like you’re the only customers in the place. It’s a relatively small restaurant with fantastic lighting that makes each table feel uniquely spacious though you’re only a couple feet from the next. There are both booths and tables — all of them are spacious and comfortable, even the front table that everyone walks past is its own island. There’s another with a wall of wine that’s certainly worth peeking your head in for a look if you aren’t seated there. Needless to say, the wine list is varied and extensive. Not a wine drinker? Well, let’s hope you like martinis so you can take advantage of the tableside martini cart. The appetizers are so good you’ll want to get one of each… make sure you share because dinner is going to leave you stuffed. The seafood tower and oysters rockefeller are my favorites. Moving to the main, get yourself a hunk of meat and don’t have it cooked past medium. They will all melt in your mouth. Assuming you’re still going to pile in dessert, be amazed. They have bananas foster and cherries jubilee. Can you hear Sinatra singing? The food speaks for itself — on a good night, you can smell the garlic wafting into the casino. It’ll make you wish you’d made reservations! The waitstaff do nothing to break the harmony you’re having with your steak and martini. They’re friendly, knowledgeable and have an uncanny ability to swoop in just as you’d like a plate cleared, a drink refilled or a question answered. Seriously, it’s magic in that restaurant.

The rest of the food at the silver thief exists to fill you up, The Steak House is another level entirely. Table side cocktails and salads professionally made, wonderful generous steaks cooked perfectly. You get what you pay for here, you just better win!

I was at the steakhouse tonight and it is always consistently superb! It compares top El Goucho in Seattle in every way but a bit cheaper. If you want fine dining with wonderful service and atmosphere, splurge and do go there! I’ve had everything from table side Caesar salad to their steakhouse salad, lobster bisque, i can tell you they are first quality! They prepare everything with such care and the extra touches are so fabulous, i.e. Free small appetizer with their special crab spread, fresh carrot sticks and crackers, and champagne sorbet to cleanse pallet– both so wonderful and nice touches for an elegant dinner. I’ve had the huge lobster tail with filet(my choice tonight) excellent! Everything is cooked to perfection! Other visits with friends has never disappointed. All of the food was superb as well. It is worth every penny, if you, like me want THE best steaks, seafood, ambience and service in the Bellingham, Ferndale, Lynden! Bar None this is the place. My thanks to the receptionist Talesha for her great assistance and kindness on the phone and in person; and I cannot say enough about my excellent waiter, Jon — whom I’ve had the pleasure of serving me in the past. You won’t be disappointed with any of the servers, but Jon is very very good at what he does and I plan to request him in my future reservations. I can highly recommend this wonderful steakhouse without any reservations for any dining pleasure and especially for special occasions… simply the best!

Ok. I’ve been here twice now, so I’ve double checked my initial impression. This place is a pleasant surprise. I stay in Bellingham so it’s a little drive, but surprisingly worth it. I travel on expense account, so I eat too well. This place’s steak is on par with the upper echelon of steakhouses in NYC. People in Ferndale, WA are lucky. They are just nice and the food is good. The service tries too and are good. Pretty good produce and great steaks. Really.(For you if you live in Ferndale, WA, lucky you! really) Keep it up.

Walking in feels like you are transported to a major city restaurant, not Ferndale. The staff is professional, the setting is beautiful and the food is spectacular. This was my second visit and I’m happy to say that nothing has slipped from the first time. The service was impeccable, the food was extroardinary and the whole experience was great. It’s not cheap but it delivers. You’ll have to run the gauntlet of smokers in the casino to get here, but you’ll be glad you did. Easily best steakhouse in Whatcom County.

This wont be a long review because the experience was over three years ago and before I was a Unilocaler. I will say that this meal was super overpriced for the quality. Now maybe they have gotten better or maybe we had an off day. I had the fillet minion. I have to say I have had better steaks at applebees. I was super disappointed. For 42 dollars I was not at all impressed. Fillet minion is supposed to be super tender and this was far from that. Like I wrote, I have had more tender pieces from applebees and frankly that is just ridiculous. My girlfriend had the prime rib and that was just as good as Billy Mchales. So yea the prime rib was not bad but prime rib is never bad unless you get it at the buffet. The restaurant was super fancy but it was perfectly acceptable to go casual. Overall I spent over 100 dollars for two people and we only had a beer to drink. This place was very disappointing. You can go out to Via in birchbay and get a steak and lobster dinner with mashed and veggies for 19.99 and let me tell you, you will be very happy. Again fillet minion is supposed to be tender. I wont be back.

Everything was amazing. We had a 5 course meal and everything was to die for. I loved every minute of it(minus having to walk through the casino to get there).

This was perhaps one of the worst dining experiences I ever had. We came for an anniversary dinner and the at the beginning of the meal my spouse emphasized a food allergy and wanted to assurance that that would not be a problem. The appetizer courses went off without a hitch. My spouse ordered a filet and I ordered a prime rib. His steak came covered in garnish that he was allergic to. He brought this to the server’s attention who(initially)was apologetic. The server said he would have the kitchen remake the dish without the garnish. Not 5 minutes latter he(literally) returned with the same plate and same piece of meat and said: «They were able to rush and make you a new plate». All they had done was pull off the garnish and throw it back on the grill for a few minutes, put it back on the same plate and brought it back to us claiming they remade it(when it was very apparent it was not). The sides were still on the plate where my spouse had left them; there were even still pieces of the garnish on the plate! And the steak was now cooked beyond the medium temperature(that was ordered). This is something one would expect to see at an Applebee’s or Outback, but for a supposed«high-end» steakhouse with high-priced meals to pull that kind of racket, was an ultimate insult! I was so angry and annoyed(to know we were spending close to $ 200 for a meal where the servers treated us like we were to stupid to know better) I lost my appetite and sent my barely eaten prime rib back. All I wanted at that point was to get settled on the check and get out of there. The crazy thing is: we could have overlooked the error initially, but all they successfully did is take a simple mistake and make it worse. I do not think this restaurant is anything that anyone there should be taking pride in being a part of. because the sheer lack of service quality was abhorrent. Needless to say: they wrecked the special event and I will never be back!

I had my 40th birthday dinner here and it was wonderful. The food was wonderful. I had the lobster bisque and filet mignon, both of which were exquisite. They also made a delicious chocolate cake for us. We had a party of about 15, and took our time through each course; we never felt the service was rushed or too slow. The whole experience – food, wine, atmosphere, and service – were everything I could have asked for. I would 100% recommend The Steakhouse, especially for a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary.

A true gem! The staff are outstanding, very attentive and friendly. The food… omg! I had the jumbo prawn cocktail, French onion soup, the filet mignon, and the potato casserole side. Everything was fantastic, and the steak just melts in your mouth! And for dessert a brandy Alexander made with ice cream… pure decadence! Worth every penny and i will return!

A surprising find as I don’t often step foot in casinos and even more rarely to dine. This restaurant had such high marks I had to give it a try for a special birthday dinner. The choices for exceptional restaurants in Whatcom and Skagit County are limited(I’m used to the plethora of outstanding restaurants in Greater Seattle). We all were happy with our meals(steaks and fish). The service was professional. Atmosphere intimate. The only negative for us was the smoky casino aspect but we hurried in and out and made our hurrying part of the fun. Definitely recommended for a special dining experience.

The staff treat you like royalty, enhanced the experience and overall was an exciting moment when being given each entrée, even the water is presented in a way that made that glass quality water hahaha. Don’t even get me started on the actual meal lol, there is only one way to describe the Steakhouse is feeling like a king for a dinner. Staff are just incredible. My explanation for the glass quality water is a great way to describe all food presented. The food was heavenly, and I could endlessly rant on but heavenly sums it up(=

This was an amazing customer service experience! We came here for our three year wedding anniversary, with nothing but high expectations. Thank you for delivering! We had an amazing server, a wonderful wine God and exceptional service! We love to eat late, so we decided to book at 9:45 table hoping that we would still get the same top-notch service. We totally did! Hats off to you awesome staff members who never forget that you have customers celebrating amazing moments in their life at your restaurant! Thank you for making it so exceptionally beautiful for us! You know who you are Brent xoxoxo! Oh and yes of course the food… It was beyond amazing!

Amazing… best steak I’ve ever had… best customer service I’ve ever had. I can’t say enough about the meal I had tonight. Went to the Steakhouse for a work party and was seated at a large 20 person table alongside their wall of wine. The service was impeccable, very attentive, friendly, knowledgable and professional. I don’t think I’ve ever received service like this. What really left me speechless though was the food. This place is very high end, especially for the area(Bellingham in general). We were anxiously awaiting our food as neighboring tables were having flambéed steaks and table side tossed Cesar salad. With our large party we had a small menu to select from pre arranged by the company. I opted for the beef carpaccio and my husband went with the lobster ravioli. Both were excellent. Paper thin beef melted in your mouth served alongside a mixed green salad with artichoke hearts and Parmesan in an acidic dressy which complimented the natural subtle flavor of the beef. It was also accompanied by a whole grain mustard. My husbands lobster ravioli was divine. I am not a seafood fan but I would eat a whole bowl of that. House made perfectly chewy ravioli wrapped around chunks of lobster finished in a lobster bisque sauce and topped with caviar. So good. And both these apps I saw saw on the menu were between $ 12 – 14. Amazing. The Cesar salad was phenomenal, crisp romaine with a flavorful dressing of Parmesan, garlic, and anchovy with delicious croutons. The bisque was lovely with a large chunk of lobster and puff pastry disc. Our steaks were AMAZING. Best filet mignon I’ve ever had! Beautifully seared, topped with butter, and so tender. The flavor was out of this world! My prime rib was the most tender and perfectly cooked. It was accompanied by a Yorkshire pudding, horse radish and au jus. The desserts were also great, mud pie with Oreo base and espresso ice cream and pumpkin cheesecake with ginger snap crust. Ugh, I’m salivating thinking of it again even though I’m so full. You really must try this place. Yes it’s in a casino, yes it’s kind of out of the way, but holy COW… for an amazing steak it’s worth it. It you want a phenomenal dinner and don’t mind dropping $ 46 for a steak, this is your place!!!

Steakhouses are our jam. Easily our favorite. So needless to say, we have a high bar when it comes to this sort of thing. We were not expecting The Steak House at Silver Reef to pull it off. Boy did they ever. Who would have thought this place could rival our favorite El Gaucho experience? Great ambiance, fantastic service. Loved the feel from the moment we arrived. Now on to the food. Delicious. Everything. Tableside Caesar was delish. Lobster Bisque? Yes please. Steaks were fantastic. Man, just thinking about it makes me want to pick up the phone and get another reservation on the books. We just wish we lived closer. If you are staying the hotel you are doing yourself a disservice by not throwing in a dinner here. Amazing what you get for, for the money. Highly recommended.

My husband won a free dinner for 2 certificate to The Steak House and we finally got the chance to go out there and use it. Before winning the certificate we’d never even heard of The Steak House, let alone eaten there. Our waiter was excellent, very informative, and, for 2.5 hours, brought us plate after plate of food. Since our free dinner allowed us to get anything and everything we want, we tried many things, and not a single item was anything less than wonderful. Appetizer: seafood tower. Prawns were excellent, lobster was perfect, mussels tasty and the oysters were just fine, although raw oysters aren’t my thing so I don’t have a basis to rate them. Caesar salad made tableside: delicious! Lobster macaroni and cheese was heaven on earth. Steaks were cooked to perfection, perfectly seasoned. Mashed potatoes, yummy. Lobster tail was divine! Desserts were mud pie and a raspberry crème brûlée and they were great. Everything was absolutely perfect. I’ve eaten at some expensive restaurants over the years, including well-known places in Los Angeles. The Steak House was head and shoulders above them all. Best dinner I’ve ever had at a restaurant.
