Been coming here for a couple years. The service is always very good. The food seems to always be fresh and the place is very clean. I recommend.

So here’s my issue! As a woman of color, I was not only disrespected. but TOTALLY ignored! The two ladies who were working there, and I use the term LOOSELY, were SHAMELESSLY flirting with my husband! The kept asking him was I his wife, needless to say, being«old school», I wanted to «B***h slap» both of them, but instead I left and vowed to NEVER return! Note: If your boyfriend/husband s nice looking, watch out for these SCRUBS!

Food is so so, and are the choices. Tried much better in Reno but I will give a pass score nothing more.

Nice little buffet, not many choices but still okay food. Unsure of why they cook food n lay it over plastic wrap while it’s on the burners. Would I go back, I don’t really know.

Food is not very fresh, but that’s not my biggest issue with this place. It’s very disturbing, and quite rude in my opinion, how the waitresses literally watch you eat so they can take your plate as soon as you’re done. You would think they could find a way to pay attention and be attentive, other than burning a hole in the back of your head and making you feel extremely uncomfortable. I went there with my family once and my daughter(10) got the crab legs. I guess one of the waitresses«observing» saw that she was slightly struggling getting the meat out so she rushed over and without saying a word picked up one of the legs off her plate and proceeded to show her how to do it properly. She did this with the whole plate of crab. All I could say was«wow». Who does that? We no longer go there because of «otter lady»

My husband and I ate here on Sunday, late afternoon. We had been traveling all day, and a nice Chinese buffet was just what we had in mind. We enjoyed our meal very much, food was flavorful and although it’s not a large buffet, there was plenty to choose from. Staff is very friendly and personable. We would eat here again on our next trip through town

the food was adequate, but I have had better. we went in anticpating it would be 6.99 for the lunch special on the sign out front. but she charged us $ 9.99 for 4 adults &1 child even though there wee 2 children. seems 1 child ate nothing(he.wasn’t hungry) and the other child ate as much as an adult. I pointed out that their dry erase board on the street said the EVERYDAY price & this was not truth in advertising. she sent another employee out to the street. I didn’t get a chance to follow. I figured they erased it & put the everyday price. they told me that if I didn’t pay for the 4 adult buffets, they took off the $ 4.99 for the child that didn’t eat, they would call the local sheriff. I figured with the other customers, who were pissed at me for refusing to be cheated, would side against me with the restaurant, so I paid it. then went outside & took a picture of the sign they DIDN’T even bother to change. I was willing to pay the $ 6.99 for the adults as the sign advertized. the only place that it said that of the all day Sunday $ 9.99 price was on their menu which we were never given or told about. they catch unsuspecting people that way. I even mentioned that I wanted the $ 6.99 lunch buffet and she said, «yeah, yeah! have a seat!» I will NEVER go back to this restaurant. they were rude, obnoxious & mean. I will be taking my receipt & picture of the. sign to the chamber of commerce tomorrow to file a complaint. I only went here because my grandson & his best bud wanted to go. I could get better Chinese from the frozen food freezer at walmart or winco(and I have). next time China chef. the same price but the food is always exceptional & so is the service. I didn’t leave a tip(they already got it in the extra they charged me.

We stopped in after on the hwy for hours. We had a party of 4 so this is how it went. I enjoyed most of my chioces but was selective to just the dishes that were reciently brought out. My wife was so so about it. There were a few things that needed replenished but had plenty to choose from. my kids were joking about the filthy bathroom as it was not very attended to.

Not the best but not the worst.(we have been very spoilt with buffets in Houston) The food was fresh, regularly replaced during our visit, plenty of choice. Dishes lacked a little flavour but against other fast food joints I would head to this one. Lots of fresh and crunchy vegetables, lovely friendly service. I would probably eat here again if I was passing through.

$ 6.99 Lunch buffet for the win! VS the $ 5.25 lunch. Which is a great price but you only get one selection. Also!Cleanest Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to! Two of the waitresses spent the entire time I was there scrubbing walls and wiping down tables. And their bathroom didn’t double as a storage room!(Has a hook to hang your purse and paper towels!!) Food selection was very nice, good blend of chicken/seafood/vegetarian dishes. Fresh egg rolls and other fried things as well as two types of hot soup and a nice selection of desserts. My favorite is the almond cookies. Nothing looked like it had been sitting out too long and everything was piping hot. Every time you get up for a new plate your last one gets swept up instantly by one of the friendly waitresses. It was a nice dining experience. Definitely worth trying when in the Fernley area.

China King Buffet is due for an updated review… You’re welcome! ;-) After a brief visit to the Veteran’s Cemetery, my family and I needed a place to dine at. Initially I mentioned that we were only a half hour away from Reno, and that we should go somewhere there. But, my mom mentioned a much closer buffet that she’s gone to with friends after work. Enter China King Buffet. I skimmed thru the reviews and was a little hesitant about stopping by, but sometimes mom’s know a Unilocal*thing or two, as well! Except for two other patrons, the place was empty for a Sunday at noon when we arrived. We were greeted right away by two smiling faces, and we were seated just as quickly. Even before we could figure out who would sit where, our drink orders were taken: 3 hot teas, one iced tea, a Sierra Mist, and a lemonade. Then we were off to the buffet. It was a small, two section buffet. The trays of food weren’t entirely full, but neither was the restaurant. It was understandable that the trays were left maybe half-full. Some of the buffet items? –plain steamed rice –fried rice –veggie chow mein –crab Rangoon wontons –General Tso Chicken –Seafood Delight –crab legs –garlic green beans –mushroom pork –pepper potatoes –ginger clams — teriyaki chicken skewers –pepper chicken –egg flower soup –hot and sour soup A few more items, but that’s all I can recall… We all took at least two trips each. And we all had our favorites. I favored the veggie chow mein, garlic string beans, and ginger clams. Except for the fortune cookies, we really didn’t get any dessert. I didn’t really notice the dessert area of the buffet. I think there was a tray of tapioca and there was a nice arrangement of almond cookies. The ladies tending to us were very friendly and took away our empty plates and bowls almost as soon as we were done. I struck up a conversation with one of the ladies, as she was eyeing my full belly and inquired about my condition. It’s funny seeing everyone’s reaction to the mentioning of twins, lol! Another one of the ladies gave an elderly regular patron a hug upon entering. And a regular family walked in and they were asked«how many this time?» Great customer service here, no wonder why they have so many returning customers! Restrooms can be kept up a touch more. Décor is kinda cliché, with bamboo, fans, koi fish, and lanterns. The buffet tongs can be hot to the touch, so be careful! My family left full and satisfied. No real complaints about the food were exchanged. For 6 people our bill came out to just under $ 70. Not bad for an AYCE Chinese buffet and drinks. Well, Unilocal*ers… My mom was right about this one. Worth a try, at least!!!

I tried this place once. The food was not very good. There was no flavor, the quality was lacking. We both felt not very good afterwards either… They have a buffet in the front when you walk in. We wanted to skip the buffet for fear of not knowing what had been out and for how long… and the waitress was mystified that we wanted a menu and not the buffet. After ordering we were sitting there getting a weird vibe that the food wasn’t going to be good. The restaurant interior was not very pleasing either. Just kind of blah. Food was served… We ordered 3 dishes and soup. Nothing stood out. Nothing was really good. Everything was less than so so… the more I ate the more I disliked the food. Not good. The pricing was moderate but who cares if you don’t like it. There are better options in this town than this place, hands down. If you are into these Chinese buffets are have grown up on this food you don’t know what you are missing. If you have had better you will definitely dislike this place… as we did.

Not too shabby overall! I’ve been there about 20 times now(since moving to Fernley about two years ago) and I often go with my in-laws. Anyway, what can ya say, really? They provide pretty good food and a good variety for the buffet, and the prices are reasonable. It is not the prettiest joint as far as the facility goes, but considering I’ve got my face buried in my plate whattda I care? The food is worth the price, the staff are nice and the wait staff are very attentive. I’ll be back… again, and again, and again… etc. CLEANUPTHEBATHROOMONCEIN A WHILE, CHINAKING!!!

As a rule, I try to avoid buffets, I always feel I have to get my money’s worth and end up eating too much. But this restaurant is an exception to that rule. The staff is always friendly, the food is always fresh and the price is reasonable.

All the reviews for this buffet are so old that I wanted to write a newer one. This is really an excellent Chinese buffet. It is not huge but there is a lot of variety and quality. They really know how to run a buffet. They put out small amounts of food, so that nothing gets old or stale. The only thing that they are a little odd about is the chage over from lunch to dinner. Lunch ends at 4pm but it’s best if you get there in time to complete your lunch by 4. They actually come and tell you that you need to get whatever you want because they are changing to dinner and you can’t get any food then. They don’t put out any dinner until you finish. So, if you come in at say 4:10 you may be waiting for the dinner buffet. It’s not a big deal but just kinda odd. Overall, I love the food and the prices are very reasonable.

I always enjoy coming here. Naturally, it’s not as large as the buffets in the Reno casinos, or even as large as a few of the Chinese buffets up there, but it makes up in quality for what it lacks in size. First of all, the staff is super friendly. If you come regularly, they remember what you like to drink and will ask you amiable questions about your life. I’ve had very cold service in alot of Chinese places like this *coughKingBuffetinRenocough*, so it’s nice they actually treat you politely. They’ve even brought my mom, who loves their chow fun, a special plate of it for no charge when they don’t have it out on the table. The food has been great every time I’ve been there. Granted, due to their small size, I’m sure they avoid putting out fresh food during the odd post-lunch-but-pre-dinner hours, but whenever I’ve gone during normal meal times, I’ve never been let down. Their steam tables are kept very hot, so you never get nasty lukewarm food, and they avoid bringing out huge trays at once, so the turnover is fast and everything stays fresh. The garlic chicken and lemon shrimp are my personal favorites. Dinner gets you some shrimp items, crab legs, ginger clams, and either Peking duck or sweet and sour ribs. Most of the fare is pretty standard for Chinese buffets,(broccoli beef, cashew chicken) but it’s all very tasty. The price is right too. It’s about $ 7 for lunch and $ 10 for dinner, so you’re not going to blow your budget. Nothing fancy, but it’s good, cheap, and hits the spot. They also offer takeout and a non-buffet menu, but for the price it’s worth eating in the restaurant.

These have to be the nicest people in the world – they will cook anything you want and the way you want for a very little price difference – 50 cents most of the time. Their Kung Pao Shrimp is outstanding and egg drop soup is a stunner. This is Fernley’s best restaurant for price, quality, kindness, and great service!!! If you are not a buffet fan, just order from the menu — -super fast service to add…
