The toffee here is delicious — pick up a bottle of port and some of their chocolate, have a picnic in fiddletown, instant wonderful.

Taking advantage of the perfect weather my husband and I went for a scenic drive into the foothills stopping first in Sutter Creek and Plymouth. When we saw a sign for Fiddletown, that name intrigued us, so we decided to continue on.
Once we got there my husband described it as, «Not even a wide spot in the road between nowhere and nothing.» But Fiddletown is nestled between hills and lots of trees, and has interesting old buildings, and the Browns English Toffee store.
There are many different varieties available, all hand made. Of course we came away with some. I’m thinking they don’t get a lot of foot traffic, but do most business mail order.

What a great stop! After walking around the little town and enjoying the quaint old buildings and colorful fall leaves, we stopped in to this shop and met Marilyn who quickly gave us lots of history about Fiddletown and a sample of her toffee. We had to buy some, it was so good.
