Coleman American Moving Services

Had the most horrid experience using this moving company. The moving crew didn’t wrap several pieces of furniture or properly handle the furniture while loading. I have several damaged pieces of furniture from the crew and when I contacted Allied Coleman, they still have yet to offer to pay for the damage their crew did. Furniture was dropped down the stairs, not wrapped, and the crew even laughed and said to «claim it.» I Would never recommend this moving company.

Woeful underestimate on weight, employee theft on both ends, and then American corporate theft for refusing compensation. The underestimate I’m not too upset about because they should get paid for the weight they move. I showed the movers my electronics box to pack which had a PS4 in it. It wasn’t in the box when delivered. They hired my son to help unload. He put his wedding ring on a high shelf to do the work. It was stolen as well along with ammunition I moved on my own. Several boxes never showed and the company wasn’t interested in checking the other load that shared the truck. So I totaled up a $ 1400 claim and sent it off to corporate. Their letter essentially said since I can’t prove they shipped it, claim denied. Moving insurance isn’t «insurance» so the corporate foxes eat from that hen house too.
For some reason they sent two trucks with the larger one partially loaded so that forced my load to be split. So the stuff I needed right away was put in the smaller truck. That showed up two weeks after the larger truck. Find a small family run moving outfit that actually provides a competent and ethical service.

We had a challenging time with this moving company. While we had competitive bids from several moving companies for a cross country partial pack and move, Rod Sweeney, our move consultant, was the first to respond so we chose Coleman American. After signing the contract, Rod was unresponsive to repeated requests to deliver boxes for self packing. The boxes came only a week before the move (they had been requested a month before). This left us little time to self pack. The moving crew that arrived did a good job, but there too, the job was bigger than they thought and they needed to bring in additional boxes and men. Rod also told us a shuttle truck was not needed, when it was (at an extra charge). During the final walk through with the crew boss, I indicated several items on the front patio (empty flower pots, decorative items, etc.) that still needed to be loaded on the truck. These items never got put on the truck and the company refused to honor our replacement claim. They made us fight for reimbursement even when we had before/​after pictures. Never again will I go with this company.

They arrived on time, went right to work. We packed ourselves but they wrapped the mirrors, etc. They did an awesome job! They were very friendly and professional. The next morning, they arrived on time again to unload our belongings. Nothing was broken or missing.
