The food was delicious and the people were nice. I really enjoyed the bake beans and the corn bread. The baby back ribs were great.

Typically reliable turns nasty and it’s a shame. today I stopped by my new favorite bbq place for take out lunch when I arrived back work I was surprised to find dry ribs covered with sauce. This is the last thing I would have ever expected from this operation, they have great food for and amazing prices. In attempting to resolve the matter I call the store requested to speak with the manager. I explained that their typically amazing quality missed the mark. I expected and apologize and an offer at most to make the issue right. What I got was an explanation that I was wrong and the ribs couldn’t have been dry. You must understand that I am not a big complainer and overlook many short comings in a place I like. Had this been any other place I simply would have not called and never went back. So this response made me mad enough to write this post. The fact that I took time to call and let him know something was wrong only to end up being told I couldn’t be right about my concern was enough to make sure that I’ll skip this restaurant in the future. Good food is important to me but not enough to be treated poorly

Lunch after a long flight and wanted something local. Warthogs smelled heavenly so we decided to try it out. To start — the servers and cashiers were friendly and greeted us promptly with a smile. And when the food came out — oh my! The BBQ sauce was a vinegar base with a hint of sweetness and the meat was melt in your mouth good. The beans had a kick(could’ve had a larger serving) that fused well with the creamy potato salad. The cornbread was slightly dry and they didn’t serve with real butter(thus only 4 stars.) Totally recommend if you don’t want fast food!

Recommended by a friend, so we drove from Sammamish to check em out. I must say it was definitely worth the drive. Ordered the chicken and ribs why coleslaw and it was great. My wife had the brisket meal and she loved it. We will be back!

Saw this place on the exit sign off I-5 one day while I was really hungry, so we stopped in for lunch. I always have to put a little more sauce on my meat(because I really love saucy bbq) but everything I’ve had is delicious. One thing to note is that the mac and cheese is a little different(though I can’t put my finger on what it is about it) so I don’t usually order that, but I didn’t dislike it. Now everytime we’re passing through Tacoma and need food, we make a pitstop here.

OMY!!! This place is a hidden gem. Hubby got the BBQ ribs. I loved the sweet BBQ flavor of the ribs. I had the homemade chili. That was so deliciously hearty infused with a lot of flavors. Yummy! Need our lunch with a Devonshire berry pie(half cheesecake & gelatin). We will definitely come back!

We stopped here today for an early dinner. We were not impressed. The ribs and chicken were very fatty with little meat. The flavor of the barbecue was good but the cuts of meat were not good. The roof was leaking in the restaurant. The staff was cleaning and dusting under the tables right next to us. This was not appetizing, they really should wait until the restaurant is closed to do those types of cleaning tasks or at the very least, refrain from doing them while people are trying to eat. Simple requests were not able to be fulfilled(i.e. substitutions) and it was extremely cold in the restaurant. This place was pricey and none of us finished our food. We will not be returning!

Warthogs in Fife was hubby’s choice for his Birthday lunch yesterday… and for a good reason, the BBQ was amazing! Arriving around noon, the young gals at the counter were helpful with what we should order, so we both ordered the moo, cluck and oink(brisket, chicken, pork ribs) for a variety, and all of the meat was super tender, and flavorful. The BBQ sauce was just right, not too tangy or overpowering where you can’t taste your meat. The sides were yummy, cornbread soft, slaw was crisp, and the beans. Yum! Everything was so good I felt guilty eating so much in one sitting and looking like I’ve never eaten a meal in my entire life… but it was worth pigging out on!

A very good barbecue restaurant that tends toward the Missouri and Midwest styles. This is fone, however the Brisket seems a bit off. Full disclosure: I was born and raised in Texas, so I am biased towards Texas BBQ Brisket. Warthog seem to have more of a pot roast quality then a true Brisket. It’s still good, but just make sure that you are expecting it. I really enjoyed the turkey and sausage, with their Cole slaw being a definite stand out. The building is laid out nicely and I am a big fan of the décor. This is a slice of the South dropped firmly in the Pacific Northwest and I couldn’t be happier. The outside patio is nice, but we were forced inside because some bees(non stinging) decided that the barbecue sauce would make some epic honey. I can’t disagree, but was not interested in sharing. My recommendation for a plate: Turkey and Sausage with Cole Slaw and Corn. Enjoy with a Weinhards Root Beer.

Almost didn’t stop because rating was 3 stars. That would have been huge mistake. We had the Ruben and it was so good! Tender, juicy, tasty. They were so busy, but were quick, friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Will return when we get up to WA.

Got the meat platter. Food was good, not the best, not the worst but satisfying and good. Staff were efficient, friendly and quick. They made lots of suggestions of what to try.

I will start off by saying I read all the reviews but still accepted a Invitation to go for dinner. Very cute place. The young ladies that Work there is any employer’s dream of a employee. Came on a Friday night 7:30 we were told that no alcohol could Be served after 8:00 no problem was glad to be informed. Friend had the moo cluck oink … Same as previous reviews Chicken very dry, lacked bbq flavor. I had brisket dip, I too Had to ask for BBQ sauce fries were very good. Cornbread Was some of the best I’ve ever had. I will return for that alone. Side note: 3 ppl 68.90 which included 2 beers at 4.00

Great service! The ribs were good, meat fell right off the bone! Mac n cheese was yummy! Overall it was good! I do agree with some of the other reviews that meat needs a little more flavor! Peanut butter cookies at the counter were delicious! A little pricey around 56 bucks for three people to eat but had a little bit of leftovers!

Have been wanting to come here for quite a while and finally made it today. After getting over some initial confusion on a couple menu choices with the new host(which was very gracious), we had a delightful experience topped only by the good eats which soon followed. All the meats we had(ribs & brisket) were better than other local bbq we’ve had in recent years… we’ll be coming back for seconds.

Nice BBQ place, one of the top 3 I’ve had in Washington. I’m from the Mid-West and have lived in the south, so I know my BBQ. Chicken, pork ribs and brisket are all good, corn bread is really good but can be hit or miss. My recommendation is that you come here for an early lunch so everything will be fresh.

I made an account on Unilocal to write a review on this restaurant. I downloaded the app on 4g because I had to tell everyone about this establishment. It was terrible. I have never had a steak so undercooked or employees so bewildered by simple requests. I had my steak taken back because it tried to crawl off my plate when they first served it to me. About 5 minutes later they brought it back and it looked like they had spray painted it brown, but the meat itself was still bloody as all hell. The prime rib special was so poorly made that I did not have the strength to finish it. I asked for a leash to walk my pet cow out of there, but they only had boxes. All in all, don’t bother. Go to a casino and get a steak there. At least there you’ll know what you’re getting yourself into. Update: I thought last night that my review went a bit over the line, but then I spent the entire day voiding my bowels today so I actually don’t think it was clear enough. Don’t. Go. Here. If. You. Value. Your. Health.

One star for service: Staff was friendly food came out quick. One star for Ambiance: such a cute little old cabin No stars for food: ribs were tasteless and tough only flavor was in the sauce. Sides were not good. This place gets people coming in for its atmosphere not its food. Skip it!

Pricey but portions are good. Comes with huge cornbread, small coleslaw, small baked beans. Obviously smoked for quite some time as very tender and fall off the bone. Some people complaining about the fat but that is what gives the flavor. Not for the coronary artery troubled.

I am so thankful I found this place! I traveled to Tacoma on business and got a craving for barbecue. When I got to Warthog everything looked and smelled so good that I couldn’t choose so I got it all on the Western Round Up(brisket, pulled pork, a rib, chicken, turkey, ham and the spicy sausage). The barbecue sauce itself was excellent. The ribs, brisket and pulled pork made me a believer and if/when I find myself in Tacoma I will be back. The girls that worked the dining area and register also deserve a shout out for their customer service(I thought they closed at 9 so thank you for not making me feel like I had to rush when I showed up after 8). My only suggestion is that the ham doesn’t need the sauce and definitely stands on its own. All in all, if you’re looking for a cozy atmosphere, great service and finger licking good BBQ… Warthog.

Not good. Ribs were all fat and no meat. Worst spicy sausage ive tryed. Just not a good experience. We payed $ 37 for lunch we could not eat. The décor is very cool and we had high hopes for some great BBQ. We did not get that here. So i can not recommend stopping here.
