I have been here quite a few times. My wife loves their chicken burritos and my favorite is their shrimp tacos. The tacos al pastor are also a good pick, lots of meat but a bit over priced. I would still recommend dropping by.

One of my all time favorite places to eat. Everything on the menu is great. I love the Big Daddy Burger special. The quality of meat is the best in town and they give you a LOT of fries. The employees are really nice and the place is really well kept.

Pros, Cons, then summary I have been coming here for almost 30 years, so I can give a good review. I mostly come here for the corn burritos, which are my favorite. PROs – The best corn burritos in Ventura County. I have been to many, many Mexican restaurants over the years, and nobody comes close to Margaret’s corn burritos.(These have been my favorite dish since I was a child) They are big, full of refried beans, and melted cheese drapes the corn burritos. Their other food, especially the burritos, are good too. I understand some may not like the hamburgers and such, but it’s a Mexican food joint, get Mexican food… they have good shakes and ice cream too. The salsa is tasty, although not very hot. CONs – It’s out-of-the-way for me, as I live in Western Ventura County, so I don’t get to go here much. Their hours are not good. Open earlier, and close later. Have better games for the kids in the arcade too. I don’t have any complaints with the food, mostly just the ambiance. Some of the current workers are young, and need to learn better customer service… a smile goes a long way. Would I go here again? Yes, anytime I’m in Fillmore I try to stop by… and will continue to.

I used to love Margarets, but something has changed. Maybe because they have high schoolers as cooks? Every single time I order something, it is always wrong. Every.single.time. Either the girls at the front don’t write the order properly, or the cooks can’t read. I am not sure why I continue to go back, maybe because of the lack of choices here in town, it just eventually ends up in the rotation. I once paid $ 13.00 for burrito, chicken, rice, beans, sour cream and guacamole. When I went home there was no guac or sour cream. They did this to me the next 2 times after that! I just can’t anymore.

Hole in the wall place, great food at a reasonable price. Tip– Try the bean and cheese taquitos!

Decent find in Fillmore. I like the $ 6.50 lunch specials with your choice of enchilada, tamale, taco, chile relleno, and beef tacos. The chile relleno was average. The beef taquitos were good. The Colorado burrito could be better. Weird that they also serve burgers, fish n chips, buffalo wings, and popcorn chicken.

The worst hamburger I have ever had… I wouldn’t feed it the dog. The chicken burrito was just as bad. We wouldn’t come here again if you paid us

One of my favorite small town Mexican food restaurants. The salsa is some of the best I’ve ever had. Their taquitos are one of my favorite menu items, with their bean and cheese burritos following in second. Seating is limited, there are a few round tables inside, and a bit more seating options outside. It’s no Ritz, but the food is always great.

Good shakes but awful food. Omg. A waste of money. My first time in town. Won’t be back.

Their taco is almost like a burrito. Well seasoned Carne Asada, well worth it for the price. I’ll definitely come back when I’m in the area. An unexpected hole in the wall.

Good enough«white people» Mexican food. The«tacos» are made with two big flour tortillas and also contain beans(!). Friendly service and you can enjoy a beer with your food, too.

Just stopped here on my way back to Ventura from Santa Clarita. I got 3 hard shell beef tacos(looked good in the photo). The flavor of the beef was bland, but ok… then I saw a big black hair! No Bueno! It ruined my appetite! My husband got a bean and cheese burrito. It was falling apart and barely wrapped. He pretty much got an aluminum foil full of cheesy beans with a tortilla… I wouldn’t go back or recommend this place! Gross! Sorry I feel bad writing a bad review, but the truth be told.

I stopped here for the first time I am a truck driver my friend recommended this spot he said the burritos were good so I got the carne asada burrito and I was very disappointed the meat had a lot of nerve and fat the beans and rice were good that place is really clean but I felt ripped off I paid 11 dollars for a large soda and a burrito that was not good:/ I did see people ordering different food and it looked OK I don’t usually like giving bad reviews but if you’re going to sell me a 7 dollar burrito you can not hold out on the quality of the meat I do drive by here a lot so I will give it a second chance and try something else and that wall post a new review.

This was our first, but not last, visit to Margarets. We were in town to pick up some fireworks for the 4th of July and friends recommended eating here. While the place is dated, the floors could’ve used a sweeping and the salsa counter was in need of a good wipe-down, the food was pretty darn good! We had the shredded beef and chicken hard tacos and really liked them. The shells were thin and crispy so they didn’t kill your jaws after eating them. Salsa was a little bland so used a lot of it. My son had a root beer float that he sucked down so that must have been good too. Our cashier was a little ditzy so we had an extra taco added to our order but not a big deal, we ate that one too :) We hear that the thing to get here is their taquitos. Too bad we heard about them after our visit. Oh well… next time!
