I stumbled on this place on Unilocal actually. I didn’t realize this this place was here because it is outside of my normal driving pattern. Have been here for breakfast and dinner and both we’re very good. I would definitely recommend. The chef worked previously at an exclusive club in town.

I made fun of this place because of it’s name and location. I wasn’t even sure which building was the restaurant as it is located by an old motel that I would check the sheets for bugs. But this place surprised me hence the reason I gave them 5 stars. I loved this place and wish i would have tried this place earlier. 5 stars for their Breakfast. I have tried any other meal here and I probably wouldn’t. I ordered the country scramble which was their special for the day. Sausage & Gravy(with real sausage) over scrambled eggs and hash browns with two pieces of wheat. Yum! It wasn’t fancy but it was just good breakfast food. I like Southside’s Biscuits & Gravy but they aren’t as good as Flag City’s. This place could lose stars because they had only one server but she was great for having between 5 – 10 tables during the time we were there. She refilled my coffee and was efficient and attentive. Sure, I didn’t get my refills the second that the cup was empty but it is probably better for me not to drink 5 cups at Breakfast. This place is definitely a Breakfast gem. It also cost under $ 15 with $ 1 coffee and .99 orange juice.

**LOCALBUSINESS** I was disappointed when Mom & Pop closed, but am OK with what took its place. It’s a traditional Midwestern diner, in a similar manner to what Straley’s was years before. They have remodeled it a bit, though. From what I can glean from the menu, they serve what I would call honest, simple food. There are no fancy dinners or atypical dishes for the area, but it’s great for people who don’t want a whole lot of fuss with their meals. I would go further to say they are meals you’d cook at home, but are too tired to do so. It’s a very«meat and potatoes» type of establishment. My meal was the«House Hash,» which consisted of corned beef, potatoes and onion. I was satisfied with how the dish turned out. Nothing was dry and I could taste everything they described on the menu. The only part of the plate I wasn’t too in love with was the home fries. They weren’t as crispy as I like mine to be. Other than that, it was a decent meal. My bill wasn’t outrageous for what I had, so I feel pretty content about my experience there. I’ll keep it in mind the next time I want a weekend breakfast.
