I haven’t been to this mall in over 20 years and was surprised to see all the bad reviews. I was in Findlay last weekend and after a very bad experience at their Starbucks decided to go here. I know understand all the one star ratings, this place has REALLY gone downhill. There is no longer a movie theater. Sears is closed. I couldn’t figure out how to get into Best Buy through the mall(there may not be a mall entrance) and used the outside entrance before heading home and that store doesn’t even carry appliances. I couldn’t find a foot court. A lot of the stores your typical Westfield mall has like Jamba Juice, Macy’s, Dillard’s weren’t here. The only positive things I can say about this place is parking is easy to find(because there is no one there but employees and mall walkers) and the Elder Beerman store is nice. Seeing the closest mall is almost an hour away I think they could do decent if they gave it a makeover and had a professional company like Simon or Westfield manage it. Like other posters said just drive to Toledo to Franklin Park or Fallen Timbers or Columbus to Polaris.

Decided to come back here Monday since I was in Findlay for work and heard they had a books-a-million, my favorite bookstore. Big mistake, this was the smallest books-a-million I’ve ever been in, reminded me of a Waldensbooks that was popular in malls in the 80’s. I had a question on my apple watch and was hoping there was an Apple Store there and of course there wasn’t and the nearest Apple Store is in Toledo. Looks like no new stores have opened since last time except Books-A-Million and a few more have closed. This mall is as big of a joke as the city of Findlay.

It gets a one-star bump for having a bookstore come back(Books-A-Million). It’s small, of course, and I have a good chance of having to order what I want but it’s better than nothing. It really doesn’t matter what people like Courtney H. have to say about my reviews. Taking personal offense to something that does not concern them is quite common around here. I suppose I’m used to it. However, I will speak my mind, without the Courtney H.‘s of the world thinking they can bully me into«saying something nice.» If there’s a problem, then too bad. I’ll give an honest opinion, period. The Findlay Village Mall is a big«needs improvement.» It has been for many, many years.

Remember in Mallrats, how there’s the nice mall that Brodie and T.S. hang out at, and then there’s the«dirt mall» that has the topless fortune teller? Well, Ivannah and her crystal ball wouldn’t be out of place at the Findlay Village Mall. Maybe I was there at the wrong time of day(it was only about an hour before closing time) but that place is GRIM. The lack of both stores and customers combine to give it a general aura of hopelessness, and it’s eerily quiet. Usually, a mall that has so few customers might at least have some good sales, but the stores that are there seemed to have skimpy inventory, and the employees I encountered were mostly dead-eyed and apathetic(with a couple of exceptions, like the friendly clerk at GameStop and the helpful man who I think owns or manages the sports memorabilia place). I’ll just make the drive to a real mall next time, because this place made me sad.

This mall is nothing to be excited about. A handful of stores gets me to go inside this mall(Victoria’s Secret, Payless, TJ Maxx, sometimes Sears, many times Tokyo Steakhouse for their happy hour specials… and many other times the $ 1 theatre). For the bigger named stores that I listed above, they don’t have a wide selection. And since it’s such a small town(Findlay pop. 60,000), the trends trickle to them LATE. I would describe something that I found at a Columbus Victoria’s Secret to one of their salespeople and they have no idea what I’m talking about. The mall is carpeted, so the dark carpet really depresses the inside. They are starting to become more vacant(meaning empty walls where stores used to be), so it’s feeling more empty. They just recently closed a pet store in there. Their parking lot could be a lot bigger, many times it’s tough finding a parking spot. Sure many people still go here, but that’s because there is no other real shopping in Findlay. The next closest malls are in Toledo, Ohio(40 minutes away) or Columbus, Ohio(1.5 hours away).

This place is awful! ½ stores are vacant, location is awful and there’s nothing of value here except Best Buy and the other 3 anchor stores! This is a joke of a mall, and Findlay deserves better.

Unfortuantely Findlay lacks a great mall. While JcPenneys and Elder Beerman are okay there is not a great selection for professional women/men. The mall also doesn’t have a wide selection of casual clothing stores either, no Gap, JCrew or Old Navy. The mall does have a cool diner where you can catch a cup of coffee and chit chat with friends. Other than that I can’t find any reason to visit the mall. What’s great: The mall’s movie theater does show new releases for $ 1. Everyone I know in Findlay takes roadtrips to Columbus’ Easton and Polaris or Toledo for shopping.
