Interesting reviews, but I feel misled, although I didn’t read Cherish’s review – darn. The writers of 5-star reviews did not stay in Room 16. Turned out to be 20 minutes from the freeway, which I didn’t read anywhere, so if you are on an I-5 road trip, beware. I asked the girl on the phone if there was internet, a microwave and a refrigerator. Yes, yes, yes. First, the key card didn’t work so I walked back to the lobby and got another, which also didn’t work at first but after some jiggling, I realized the door just doesn’t work properly. I got it closed and latched once but then after trying several times again, and calling on the phone, I discovered that you have to LIFT the door while closing it because the latch doesn’t line up with the strike plate properly. The microwave is dirty; I imagine the housekeepers forget to look inside. The smoke detector has been removed from the wall — probably by a guest who was awakened with beeping in the middle of the night(it always happens in the middle of the night). One of the questions was if it is a secure place because my car is well packed. She said, «Oh yes, we have security cameras all around the perimeter.» Then, when I got here, I asked if there was someone in the office 24 hours a day. No, it’s unmanned for some hours. so there’s no one to watch the security cameras. The girl assured me that if my car was broken into, the cameras would show the police who did it! LOL. After getting all settled in, I realized there is no password noted anywhere in the room. No «house manual» of any kind. So I called the office and the gal gave it to me. Then I called back because it doesn’t work and she said, «the signal must not reach that end of the complex.» Then I discovered the bedside lamp doesn’t work. The phone in the room looks like it’s from the 70’s and hasn’t been cleaned since then, and it also doesn’t work. I had to keep calling the front desk from my cell phone. Too tired to change rooms. Is that all? Well, there’s no coffee maker. There is a microwave but no complimentary coffee, no mug, no glass. There is no lotion, no facial tissue and a small bit of tp left on the roll, so I better stop drinking water for the night(from my own bottle). There is no blanket, just a lightweight bedspread over sheets, so I guess this is a Bring-Your-Own kind of place. It is a pretty depressing room and perhaps the worst I’ve ever rented, even for the low price. I called about the toilet paper and the next gal offered to give me some if I walked over in my bahtrobe(or changed my clothes again), to get some. And I could have my money back if I wanted to leave right now. Since she just came on duty, I told her about all the deficiencies but all I asked for was TP. There is one person on duty so no service at all. And just so you know, while it is miles from the freeway, it is located on a noisy highway. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Ok, so it’s the best hotel for quite a ways. Traveling to Mendota it’s the best place to stay. However, it’s not super fabulous. The huge gob of hair on my towel was more than disturbing. Getting into my room I find out I have the wrong tv remote to my tv, so that didn’t work. They fixed that. The industrial washer/dryer right below my room was going off all day, and was apparently so off balance it was shaking my entire room! Felt like an earthquake! But other than that quiet decent bed. It works and was decently priced.

omg! I’m soo glad I found this place! I had stayed at Los Amadores in Mendota and was really disappointed so to find Motel 33 just 8 miles away was a Godsend! =) The staff at Motel 33 were very friendly and nice; the value was great and only $ 5 more than Mendota; the room was spacious; the beds were comfortable; the pillows were soft; the room was clean; plenty of space; had a table & chair and was very quiet! All of it was just what we needed after a long drive~ I will definately stay here from now on! The town itself is comforting and laid back… I felt safe =)

Motel 33 is great! Upon late arrival, they were in the office to greet me and set me up in a room. Friendly, conveniently bi-lingual(Spanish) service and the motel itself is clean, comfortable and had all the amenities I needed. Honestly, they were a godsend in Firebaugh. If you’re ever in the area and need a place, take yourself to Motel 33. It’s comparable to off-the-strip places in Las Vegas and they have free internet to boot. A lifesaver in a time-crunch. The prices are super reasonable as well and Shogy’s nextdoor is convenient for food/beverages. Couldn’t have asked for or expected more. The staff here are excellent and really give you the small town friendly service that you hope for.
