Wong’s Restaurant is located on the main boulevard of Firebaugh. It can be hard for me to push through the crowds lined up in front of Wong’s on this hustling and bustling street but that’s the only way you’re getting in at this establishment(or you could slip the maitre d’ a crisp Jackson aka a 20 dollar bill for those not presidentially inclined). Food here is as good as it gets for Chinese food outside of China. In fact, I’m pretty sure they import their food directly from China for that tasty Chinese flavor. Their culinary technique is not to be understated. I heard they can make Orange chicken out of Apples. The head chef at Wong’s is a mountain of a lady with hands as tough as boulders. She tenderizes meat with her fist and serves Mongolian fire pot barehanded. Needless to say, this restaurant is not to be trifled with. Pay it the respect it deserves and it will honor you with hot Chinese deliciousness that will NOT give you the runs like other so-called Chinese restaurants. Wong’s, imitated; never duplicated.

Not a lot of variety of places to eat in Firebaugh. My family lives out here so when I visit I always have to stop by at Wong’s to get some delicious Chinese food. The portions are HUGE. The dishes are DELICIOUS and the prices are CHEAP. What else would you want in a restaurant? Free refills for dine in and they have these huge sodas for a dollar Togo. It’s a mom and pop place so there aren’t that many waitresses but the service is still very quick and they’re really nice. I remember they’d give me free soda when I took togo but not too sure if they still do. Oh and the main waitress speaks Spanish! And the cook understands the orders in Spanish, which is funny since it’s a Chinese restaurant. But I guess it’s kind of required for anyplace in firebaugh haha. :) My favorite dishes are the spicy sizzling plates. They have the best shrimp dishes. I LOVESHRIMP and Wongs does it right. They have this spicy shrimp dish that’s basically a billion shrimp in dark gravy. If you don’t have a lot of money and want a yummy lunch or dinner and a huge box of leftovers then this is the place to go. I swear I can never finish a dish cause they give so much food.

If you’re craving fast, tasty, fatty Chinese take-out, this is the place to go. I’ve been a regular for years and i often miss it when I’m away. They offer all the regular options you’d expect for cheap and they also have a couple other things not on their menu such as their teryaki chicken bowls(really tasty and $ 5). The portions are huge! If you’re doing take out you can ask for Sriracha sauce or hot oil and they’re free. They also have a ridiculous soda deal where you can buy a 44oz fountain drink for a dollar. If you sit in, refills are free.
