It’s closed. We went one time and and had the tapas, a sandwich and sangria. The sangria was excellent, having finely diced fresh fruit in it, so it doubled as a cocktail and as dessert. It was a Saturday evening and not busy. The service was friendly. I wonder what was in the business plan? There weren’t many seats, not enough to make any money on dine in. The floor plan was your basic deli with seating. Our meal wasn’t cheap and it wasn’t very satisfying. I would have liked to see this one make a go of it and evolve.

MMMM a Spanish restaurant and in Fishers of all places! A group of us went to El Bodegon the other night and had a delicious experience. There were 5 of us so we had a number of the tapas and split 2 of the entrees. We got the Madras Tapas Platter which includes the Serrano Ham, Manchego Cheese, Spanish Potato Omelette, Chorizo, Chistorra Sausage, Garlic Sauteed Shrimp and Mussels in Vinaigrette. My favorites were the manchego, the spanish potato omelette & the chistorra sausage which was like a greasy slim jim(sounds gross but tastes good!). We liked the shrimp and mussels so much that we decided to get two entrée portions to split. We also tried the paella which was good but a little fishy tasting for my taste. I’m also not a huge paella fan so I’d be curious what a paella fan would think. They offer a variety of spanish & Argentinian wines plus a selection of beer from Spain, Argentina, Venezuela and Colombia. They also have Sangria which was our choice that evening and was very good. All and all, I recommend El Bodegon and encourage others to try it and support our local and independently owned restaurants that feature cuisines not commonly found around here! I will definitely go back as they have a variety of Spanish sandwiches as well as south American specialties like arepas and empanadas that I want to try.
