Sears Appliance and Hardware Store

I’ve just been dreading leaving this review because I really hate that after several visits I’ve found no way I can give even 3 stars. Other than 2 ladies and one younger male employee, the entire staff is older and embodies this rigid frowning, and totally unhelpful vibe. Even when one of the gentlemen was helping me actually mix the paint, I kept thanking him, feeling as though I was an imposition. It was awful. I actually have to wonder if it is because I’m a woman and I wandered into the «gentlemen’s world»? That’s the generation of staff that I’m describing here and the ONLY reason I’d even consider that. Also, the women, also older, were the ONLY ones that were friendly and helpful, other than the youth. The gentlemen treated him with disdain (it was terrible to watch the «training»); like he was Opie and it was not 2015. I can’t go on. One of the ladies actually apologized for the mistake one of the staff made in selling me the wrong tool. She was very knowledgeable. The ladies are the only redeeming factor here. It was very disappointing; I walked into the small store and saw older staff and hoped for small-​store service (ready to help more Ma and Pa) and knowledge and guidance from a staff that might be experienced (rather than kids straight out of college). I got none of the above. And, I went back several times hoping for a different outcome. Disappointed.

I always have a terrible experience with Sears thus the reason of my one star rating. This is a small branch doesn’t compare to the huge one in Castleton.
The employees in this branch don’t appreciate the customers, some of them don’t know how to help, others are just rude by nature «including the manager».
I had hard time when was trying to pickup an online order in this branch, the order wasn’t ready at the pickup desk despite the what’s called «Your order is ready to pickup email». They had to hunt down the ordered item and couldn’t find it, the problem is with the looks I received as if it is my fault that the order is not ready.
Items sold by Sears are not of an acceptable quality, plus you will find cheaper better quality somewhere else «Amazon, Home Depot, Lowes, Harbor Freight».
I wish you a better experience there.
