I look really, really young and I appreciate not getting the immediate «I need to check your ID miss» thing right when I walk in. Can’t blame them if they did suspect me of being underage because I don’t want the authorities to come after them. That one day they won’t check your ID anymore, you realize you look just plain old. Be flattered if they do check. Ha.
Definitely your neighborhood-​friendly, no-​frills liquor store here when you can’t find what you want at the nearby grocery and supercenter on 96^th St. No shady patrons or high school party folks here. Just normal people picking up something to pair with a meal or wind down a weekend with.
I haven’t shopped here for hard liquor, but I’ve bypassed the shelves a few times and they seem to have a good selection at a reasonable price without high markups. They other half of the store has a decent sized vino selection from value and finer wines. I actually picked up the same bottle of Chianti they serve at an Italian restaurant in town since I fell in love with the taste. Had to have my own bottle for those many nights when I’m on a budget dining at home.
I saw that they had some local beers in the cold-​case, so now I know where to stop by convenience to pick up some brewskis on the way home.
