It is insulting to the patient when examining rooms are as shabby and in such obvious need of paint as the examination rooms in Dr. Austin’s practice. It shows a lack of care, attention and respect for your patients; it leaves the impression that the care you receive is as careless and unprofessional as the surrounding you put your patients in.

I am still shaking from the rude treatment I received on the phone. I have never written a bad review until this moment. I have been a patient there and I was unsatisfied with the total experience. I felt rushed during visit and I do not feel the Dr. was thorough.(I saw a Dr. Who left the practice). My 19 year old son has been seeing Caroline and the experience has been very stressful for him. He is being treated with the serious drug Accutane and he has been monitored monthly for 5 months. TIMESPENT, SUPPORT and SENSITIVITYTOWARDSTHEPATIENTINTHATMEDICALPRACTICEISNONEXISTENT. Please do not put your TRUST in this dermatology practice. By the way, I wanted to speak directly with Dr. Austin about my experience in his office and I was told that I could NOT!!! I wonder who runs this practice???

It is rare that I leave a negative review, in this case… I am not sure if I will be able to put into words my experience with this office(okay, I will be able to). I was referred by my physician as a rush appointment. I have been getting these weird bumps that keep popping up. It started with one and now there are so many, I cannot count. Each day more pop up. My physician nor my PA had any idea what they were, neither had never seen anything like, hence why the referral to Carolyn Laorno. I go in, I explain to her how on July 8th the first one appeared, and I knew this because I was in the city that night. Each day new ones are appearing. She says, they are hives! Hives, I ask? Really? Now, I have had hives before — they do not pop up more and more each day and not go away. I explain again the past three weeks. I ask her if it good be parasites or something else, she gets defensive. She wants to give me prednisone and Zyrtec, but I cannot take prednisone which she is annoyed at. I ask her again if she is sure and she says — she can biopsy it, but that will painful and leave a scab and be uncomfortable and not recommended. I say, okay — no need to biopsy then. I ask again, are you sure they are hives? She gets annoyed, lets me know she is the professional and tells me she will get me a pamphlet on hives. Her nurse comes in and hands me a pamphlet, I am not aware the good PA is done with me. I go to the lunch room and ask, is she done with me and the nurse says yes, I gave you a pamphlet. LOLOMG — I have never experienced this in my life. The nurse offers to get Carolyn Laorno and I say, not necessary, she is dismissive and impossible to talk to. Uhoh — I should not have said that… Enter Carolyn Laorno(Hallway). You need to leave and find yourself another doctor. Excuse me, I say? I offered to biopsy this and you refused. Um, no I didn’t, you gave me reasons why it didn’t need to be biopsied. JUSTLEAVE she tells me and find someone else. I did you a favor by seeing you! Really people, this woman is on the edge. I am not going to get nasty and say the things I am feeling inside. Is it hives? Possibly, but I am thinking my wonderful physician and PA would know what hives look like. I believe I would know, as I have had hives before. DONOTGOTOTHISPLACE! That is all I have to say. Find a physician who will listen to you and understand that when you enter a doctors office, it is generally for something that is making you feel unwell. Have compassion and humility. The end!

You will get the bum’s rush here. If you come expecting to be treated like a patient seeking medical attention, just know that the folks here are more interested in running a lucrative cosmetic clinic. Ms. Laorno always behaves as though she has a train to catch. Where’s the fire? That said, they provide good services. I just don’t like the assembly line standard of care.
