Dorminy Medical Center

If you value your life you will not go to this hospital. I’ve had many relatives taken to this hospital either for the ER during medical emergencies or due to hospitalization. I also did nursing clinical studies there years ago. In that time from both personal and academic perspectives I’ve learned never to desire to go there if needing medical care.
Often enough the physicians are second rate in the ER. Also Dorminy tends to have many physicians who practice unnecessary pill pushing on older patients. The only time they had any improvement was when Phoebe Putney Health System started contracting with them. But even Phoebe decided to pull out out of the contract at the last minute.
The problem with Dorminy is that it is too locally managed. It really needs a good house cleaning employee wise and literally in terms of cleanliness.
If you have a choice go to Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, GA or the Irwin County Hospital in Ocilla, GA. Ultimately if you want the best service go to Tifton.
