This small little music store is great. There is a very friendly staff working there who are happy to help and always greet you with a smile. The selection is small for new instruments and the likes, but the sound you get in there when trying out instruments is awesome. Very crisp tones coming from those wood floors and small rooms.
Their prices are a wee bit on the high side, but I like them enough to keep going back and throwing them a few extra bones for the great service and friendly atmosphere.

I moved from San Francisco where there are excellent guitar shops like Gyphon Stringed Instruments in Palo Alto (of FRETS Magazine fame) and other fantastic shops. This shop reminds me a bit of the Great Shops in the bay area. Over the 30 years of playing, I’ve needed numerous repairs on my instruments. I took 3 guitars and 1 mandolin for ‘pro setups’ (about 100 bucks per setup). Work was done exceptionally well. The shop owner who also does most of the repairs/​setups was very pleasant and informative. Good customer service, great guitar shop, and nice business.
Consider Custom Sounds. It was a great experience for me.

Personalized service by friendly, knowledgable people. They do repairs on many stringed instruments, and also sell instruments & supplies. They also give lessons!
