Eddie Bauer Flagstaff Mall

Would give zero stars if I could. This store just lost a customer. I tried to go there at 7:20 PM on a Tuesday. Pouring rain outside and doors are locked. All the lights on, salesperson hanging jackets near the front of the store. Looked right at me, made eye contact, then turned away from me back to the jackets and would not look back. I looked all over the windows and doors but found no store hours posted anywhere.
Now drenched, went back to my car and called the store. Salesperson answered right away and told me they closed at 7pm. 7:00!!! On a WEEK DAY? She said they used to close at 6pm and have «extended» their hours. Really? I have lived in Flagstaff for 22 years and this store was at the mall until they moved last year. They were open until 9pm on week days for all that time. It’s inconvenient enough that they moved to this location and now they close at 7pm! How do they expect to stay in business?
Their competitor, REI, is 100 yards away. They sell comparable products at comparable prices. AND – like EVERY OTHER RETAIL CHAIN IN EXISTENCE – REI is open until 9pm on week days! Guess who is shopping at REI from now on? Moving your store was a terrible mistake, Eddie Bauer. Reducing your hours was an even worse one. Now a store that has been in Flagstaff for more than 20 years will likely be out of business by the end of next year. Strong work Eddie Bauer.
