So I’m to tell you a secret… I don’t like ribs… there I said it. I hate them really, too fatty, too messy, too caveman chomping on a bone like that… Satchmos has made me a believer. I love Satchmos ribs. I want 100 racks of these ribs. These things are phenomenal, fall off the bone, sauce is amazing, I would sell unborn children for these ribs. I love them. I want them again. Eat them, keep this place open.

So. Freaking. Bomb!!! So happy we stumbled upon this place. We ordered the blackened catfish po’ boy, a half pint of jambalaya, and a half pint of gumbo. Everything was sooooo mouth-watering good. And the service is amazing here also! YOUMUSTGOHEREIFYOU’REEVERINFLAGSTAFF.

This place is a must try! 4.5 stars with over 500 reviews for good reason. It’s simple really. DELICIOUS authentic Cajun food and super reasonable prices and superb customer service to go with it. From the second we walked in we were warmly welcomed until we left. Jambalaya, chili, catfish po boy is what ordered. Cornbread, coleslaw, and red rice and beans for sides. Everything was awesome and very well balanced. The restaurant is CLEAN and very charming. Too bad we don’t have a Cajun place like this in the San Francisco Bay Area. I’m owner, chef, and general manager of my own restaurant for ten years in the Bay Area. I have something to learn from these guys.

I’ve heard lots of people say that this is the best BBQ place in Flagstaff, but I was a little disappointed in it. The pulled pork sandwich was good, but nothing special. My wife loves po-boys, and she was pretty underwhelmed by the shrimp po-boy. One strange thing is that you have to stand in line to order food, and then they tell you what table to go sit at. It’s sort of a cross between a fast food place and a sit-down restaurant. Everyone was really nice and the service was pretty quick. But overall I think the food was just average, and the style of dining was a little strange. We’ll probably be back, but I wasn’t overly impressed with the«best BBQ place in town.»

This place is awesome! I love Cajun and creole food, so if you like this type of food, this is the place for you! The staff is super friendly and greeted us when we got inside. The service was fast and we got our food within 10 min after ordering. My fiancé ordered a porter and when the guy tried to get it from the tap, it was almost empty. He ended up giving the beer for free once they replaced the keg. Let me begin with the tater tots– AMAZING! Whatever seasoning they use, it’s the best! The tots were also very crispy. I ordered the fried shrimp po boy and it tasted very much like the ones I ate in New Orleans. The shrimp was also crispy, and the slaw that they put in the sandwich is to die for. Just the right amount of sweetness. My fiancé got the andouille sausage po boy and he loved it! He said it was flavorful and tasty, and wasn’t too salty. Lastly, the potato salad was delicious! Had the perfect flavor and wasn’t too creamy like a lot of potato salads I’ve had. It has a unique flavor to it, but j would definitely recommend it!

My wife and I stopped by Satchmo’s for lunch a couple days ago. We were lucky enough to arrive just before the lunch rush. Their clientele seemed to be a good mix of new customers and regulars. This is always a good sign to me — it says that the word is out that the place is great and it keeps people coming back. We ordered a po’ boy with blackened shrimp and a BBQ chicken sandwich. It took a short while to get our lunch and when it arrived, we were greeted by an extremely kind waiter who explained the makings of the sandwiches to us and described their homemade sauces. The chicken sandwich was flavorful on its own but in another ballpark with the addition of the spicy BBQ sauce. Its bun was warm and toasty, which made it even tastier. Our po’ boy was served with remoulade sauce which it didn’t even need since it was extremely flavorful on its own. I wish it had some more shrimp but that doesn’t take away from its deliciousness. Would highly recommend trying this place out as their food is tasty and service is above and beyond.

Can’t say enough about this place. I constantly look at Unilocal reviews but have only felt compelled to ever wrote two. This is my third. In short, they know their BBQ. I had incredible smoked brisket. It’s the definition of a scratch kitchen. Awesome little outside seating area. The people there were so welcoming and friendly, plus a nice little beer selection. 6 stars!

This place is amazing and delicious. Everything we ordered tasted very good and the service was friendly. We agreed that this place deserves 5 stars on Unilocal. It was so good that we placed an order on the way out to go. This was the first time having Creole food and I am hooked. Will return someday.

Pure deliciousness! We stopped by Satchmo’s on our way from the Grand Canyon to Sedona. We ordered ribs, jambalaya, tater tots, fried catfish, dirty rice and a kids meal. All of the food was super delicious and the ribs were amazing!

I enjoyed dinner at Satchmo’s with my husband and son. All of the employees were exceptionally friendly. There are menus by the door and you order everything at the counter. I had the jambalaya and my son had the grilled cheese. My husband got one of the sandwiches(can’t remember which). I appreciated that there were multiple sizes to select from. My jambalaya was very good. The grilled cheese was standard, but the bread pudding it came with was delicious. This place is also very kid friendly. They have paper table clothes and crayons at every table and the environment is very relaxed.

OMG! This is out of the way in a small strip mall but the food is the best! I had the blackened catfish and it was too good I rolled my eyes after every bite. I wanted to order another one right away. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I didn’t care so much for the side dishes. The smoke beans were good.

I just popped into town to fuel up my belly and car and after a weekend of camping I was craving for some BBQ. I Unilocaled around me and THANKGOODNESS I stopped here. Whether you love Cajun, BBQ, or a fusion there of– check out this gem. Friendly staff greeted me and the food blew me away. I know Poy Boys and hate it when places stiff you on the filling… Eg there’s more bread than filling. You have to go on Sunday(I did) and try their Sunday special of Burnt Ends Po Boy. It’s spectacular. Not only were the burnt ends on point– it was adorned with pickled coleslaw with a dash of jalapeño. Next level is adding hot sauce– you should if you’re a real Po boy fan. I chose sides of tots(crispy to perfection & tossed in cajon seasoning– oh my) and rice & beans. Coupled with a Boulevard Radler Ginger Lemon– I think this was the perfect weekend lunch. No matter if you live in Flagstaff or are just passing through– you must check this place out… coming from a Chicagoan who knows dope food from local establishment. Boom.

LOVE! This place is the real deal! They have authentic BBQ and Cajun dishes that are unreal. A must-visit if you’re in Flagstaff. I had the gumbo and homemade BBQ potato chips. The gumbo was the perfect balance of spicy and tangy. Just perfect. The chips were crunchy and full of flavor. LOVE! My counterpart had a sandwich piled with both smoked chicken and beef. He loved it. I even got to steal some of his smoked beans and cole slaw. Both were delicious and definitely homemade. The staff was ultra friendly and knowledgeable. Nick chatted with us about all the local beers they had to offer, and all the different menu options. We were only in town for a few days, but will definitely be back on our next trip!

Passing through to Buckeye from Nashville. I seen that they had great reviews so I figure to try it. I was surprised it was good. even the cornbread had some spice. But the four stars. No sweet tea. what BBQ place doesn’t have sweet tea. The lady even told me that the owner is grom the south… hummm??? Well they said they kept throwing it away so they stopped. The other reason. had to wait in line for the one bathroom. Over all I would come back. but not driving 1000 miles to lol

Talk about a loving environment of people and food! My friends and I were staying at a hotel nearby and saw this restaurant on Unilocal.Thank goodness we came! At first I wasn’t going to review this place but after the experience at this restaurant, I had to write them a review. Upon entering the restaurant, the vibe was very lively and a staff immediately greeted us and provided us with menus. The restaurant was a bit smaller than I thought it would be, but I kind of liked it. It gave you the whole small town feel and they had great décor on the walls. You order your food at the counter and seat yourself. They serve cajon and bbq food such as jambalaya, ribs, catfish fillet, soups(gumbo and chili), «sammiches», «dirty rice», sides(coleslaw, potato salad, seasoned tots, sweet potato fries, smoked beans), bread putting and drinks(beer and wine). Just listing these dishes out made me hungry all of a sudden. They have a plate special where if you choose a dish that qualifies as a plate special(the house specialties and sammiches), you get to choose two sides for $ 3.75! Do that deal, it’s worth it. So my friend and I shared a Fried Catfish Sammich and Jambalaya and had the tots and cole slaw for the sides. Man oh man were they delicious!!! Everything just meshed so well with the perfect amount of sauce and food together. The texture was on point and ugh, it was amazing. Trust me. My favorite sides was the tots. You gotta get the tots. I’m sure any of the plates are good but if you can’t decide, go for the sammich, ribs or jambalaya. Not only was the food great, but the staff made the experience a whole lot better. They were so friendly and it felt like they were one big family! The way they interacted with one another and with us, made us feel like friends rather than customers. It made me want to work there and be their friends haha I also really liked how they have a long piece of paper as their table cloth and crayons at each table for you to draw. It was fun and made the whole dining experience enjoyable. I felt like a kid again! I would highly recommend this place! Fun people, delicious food! What’s not to love? :)

My boyfriend and I stopped by for dinner after a pretty exhausting day of hiking at the Grand Canyon. BBQ was exactly what we needed. We ordered a full rack of ribs, half a pint of jambalaya, tater tots with all the nacho toppings, and a piece of cornbread. Service was fast and friendly. I enjoyed coloring on the table with the crayons, which is always a nice touch, while waiting for food. The full rack was a LOT of food(and at a great price for $ 20) and had a really flavorful rub on it. I thought it was okay, but my boyfriend didn’t like it very much. The jambalaya was really good and definitely very filling. The tater tots were just okay too, not crazy memorable. The cornbread was actually surprisingly good! I was surprised by how spicy it was. Overall, really nice experience here after a long, long day. We went home and food coma-ed really hard, which is always a good sign.

After looking at the good online reviews, I thought that I’d give Satchmo’s a try. I’m so glad that I did! I enjoyed this delicious barbecue place. I loved the pulled pork sandwich, Jamaican rice, sweet potato fries, and the cornbread that went well with the«not-your-father’s root-beer» drink. The corn bread was homemade in a skillet, and was warm and unique — it was a bit different than the other cornbreads that I’ve had before, but in a good way. There are lots of options for side dishes, and I want to try some more items on the menu. For $ 3.99 you can«upgrade» your dish and choose two sides, which I would highly recommend. Also, there are crayons for drawing on the paper table-mat, for all those crafty! The only thing about Satchmo’s is that I wish there was one in Tucson. I’d be a regular.

Satchmo’s is by far the best BBQ watery in Flag, and a really good joint all around. I came Sunday afternoon with my wife and three kids. I had the pulled pork. My two older kids split a full rack. My little guy had the grilled cheese meal. We all had the tater tots and BBQ beans. The ribs and pork were top notch. Slow cooked and smoked. The beans were also tasty, and were infused with that smokey taste that perfectly complemented the pork and ribs. The kid’s meal came with bread pudding… delish! They also have a bunch of local brews on tap. Satchmo’s would get 5 stars if I wasn’t comparing to my own ribs and pork which I smoke on the weekends. They’re 4.5 star rating is well deserved. Great food, great people, great joint!!!
