My sole purpose of going here was to try out the new Apple pay. I have not eaten at McDonald’s in a long time but I would be lying if I didn’t say that their fries are awesome. I do like their coffee much better than Dunkin Donuts. So, I order a coffee at the drive thru. I drive to the window and the guy says it’s $ 1.07. I say ok awesome I am going to pay with Apple pay. He then says on, $ 2.14. I said are you kidding, they double the price for using apple pay? He responded by saying the Apple pie is not free. I started laughing and said I don’t want an apple pie, I want to use my iPhone to pay. You know that new cool way I am supposed to be able to pay. He then apologized and asked for my phone. I handed him my phone knowing it probably was not going to work. The guy now called the manager over. She knew about Apple pay and said they were waiting to get a new device to make it easier. I had to get out of my car and stick my hand through the drive thru window to complete the transaction. So the bottom line is that Apple pay worked and it was easy. McDonald’s coffee is still one of my favorites. It wouldn’t have been a true McDonald’s experience if the transaction went smoothly.

The younger staff members are just plain rude, the older ones are fine but with all the McDs around, why deal with ignorant rude kids who can’t even get a simple order straight?

Messed up my order putting cheese on something I requested no cheese on. No big deal people make mistakes. Guy on phone was apologetic and told me I could come in at a later date and they’ll replace it. When I did they gave me my new food but treated me like just a regular customer. No additional apologies, no discounts or add’l food for my time or trouble, etc. When this happened in Byram the manager came over to me and apologized and gave me 2 free apple pies. It wasn’t about the food but going the extra mile to acknowledge a mistake was made and they want to make it up in some way. Also fast food has a «Do not ask us to throw away your trash» sign on the windows which is a little dickish IMO. Closes at 11 so you have to go to the Mickey Ds in Roxbury for late night munchies. Food is the same as any McDonalds but customer service is below the standards of what you expect from the usually tight ship run at the Golden Arches.

It’s a McDonalds. It is what it is. The guy who works the drive thru in the mornings is unintelligible. Mumbles horribly. He gets the order right, but for Pete’s sake, he should open his mouth when he talks. Just sayin.
