I loved this place Pork is great and ribs also… Slaw was a little off but when i went back he twecked it and it is great now. Beans r great also. I love my BQ… Only thing i wld love to see is a few choices for BQ sause but theres is great…

Only gave 4 stars because they were out of cheese sticks & the coleslaw was too bland for my personal tastes. That being said, my husband & I noticed they were finally open, so decided to give them a try, & am I glad we did! Dave loved his sweet potato fries & baked beans. As I said before, the coleslaw was a tad bland for me — IMHO, needs more onion. We both LOVED the ribs. They were tender but chewy & perfectly seasoned. Dry-cooked — that is to say, not cooked in sauce. Sauce was«on the side». It was excellent. So savory that I wanted to lick out the plastic container. Dave, the owner, told me it was his Gramma’s recipe. Well, Gramma, you did good. I wish them the best of luck, & I plan to try some of their other items, such as the beef brisket & pulled pork or pulled chicken. They also have the ubiquitous burgers, plus some salads which include not only the standard house salad, but Caesar, Greek, & Michigan Cherry as well. The last has romaine lettuce, dried cherries, walnuts, red onion, feta cheese, & house cherry vinaigrette dressing. Sides include the usual French fries & onion rings as well as fried okra, cheese sticks, baked beans, coleslaw, sweet potato fries & collard greens. I believe that it is take out only. The husband & I are Bootlegging it tonight. The hardest thing will be to decide what to have. But those ribs are calling my name. Maybe I will get the Michigan Cherry salad for lunch tomorrow… decisions, decisions. ADDENDUM: Now that I have actually been in Bootleg’s(husband did the buy & fly the first visit), I have more info. Currently, cash only, although credit/debit card use is in the works. Call before visiting. You can dine in — 4 or 5 booths. Place is clean, staff is friendly. Ribs were even better this time — meaty baby backs. The cornbread you receive with your meal is moist with just a touch of sweetness. Cheese sticks were hot & crunchy. This place is a gem and I truly hope they are around for a long time.
