Flat Rock Playhouse

Three Musketeers was a wonderful performance in a really nice venue!

My friends and I had a delightful time last night seeing the production Hank Williams: Lost Highway. The staff was beyond polite and helpful, and the theater was absolutely beautiful. The seating was comfortable, and the snacks at intermission were delectable. I was transfixed by the players who did such a great job bringing the story to life. So amazed by the whole experience! Parking was not an issue, they do a great job running the whole thing, we didn’t have any issue getting out at all. Definitely can not wait to see the next play.

Flat Rock Playhouse is kewl. But some things are a little assey.
The productions are kewl. My big likes them and he’s picky. He even took a date there and had a good time. He needs that because he’s recently divorced and very vulnerable, so please keep this theatre in business so he can keep his ego up. Otherwise he’ll be on the couch for days watching UFC.
The only problems are that it’s on a confusing mountain road and when you’re trying to find it in the dark at night before a show it’s hard to see and sometimes the gps doesn’t work so why don’t they have a freakin’ LIGHT on their SIGN?! And when you get there why do the seats have duplicate numbers?! You have to note whether you’re in Row R Seat 15 LEFT or Row R Seat 15 RIGHT. It’s confusing, especially when you’re on a date trying to appear suave, which my big is not very good at because he’s an academic with anxiety disorder and it already was set off by the dark sign and now they get in the wrong seats and then when he tries to go to the bathroom there’s no sign indicating where it is when you’re inside the theatre what is wrong with the signage issues at this place!!!

We went to the Sunday matinée at the Main Street venue. It was reminiscent of a theatre in the round we visited in Buckhead years ago. Comfy seat; comfy surroundings; friendly counter staff; totally hilarious performance of Nunsense! If you’ve been reluctant to try this new site, wait no longer! It may not be the barn/​rustic theatre we’ve come to love on the Flat Rock, but it’s an excellently done performance arena!

We have season tickets and the productions here are always in the very good to excellent range. Today was a real treat as Scott Treadway returned to the stage and did his fans proud.

The State Theater of North Carolina! If this is your thing, then ’nuff said.
