A friend recommended I checkout this coffee shop in our neighborhood. The décor is really cool and the staff was really nice. It has a very welcoming and Brooklyn vibe to it. The chocolate chip muffin was delicious. I will definitely be back.

I enjoy the morning croissants and relaxing space to work, talk and sip coffee or tea! The books, games and magazines give it a home-like atmosphere.

We were looking for someplace to have brunch or breakfast and finally got to come in here since none of the other nearby places open until 11. Food was on the expensive side but doable. You really need a larger breakfast selection and you will have more patrons on weekend mornings. Also for vegetarians have the menu set up so you don’t have to buy bacon with your eggs. I would also strongly recommend 3 slices of toast with your french toast. But I loved the atmosphere. I really could envision myself hanging out there for hours.

I love the idea of this place, and the staff is always super nice, but I’m always a little disappointed when I go. I know as a tea drinker I am in the minority, but good tea is definitely gaining popularity… It’s a let down that the name of this place is «KETTLE& thread» and the tea selection consists of Twinnings and Celestial Seasonings! I have better tea at home. The food is ok, but seems on the expensive side for what it is. The Quiche was bland and everything takes a long time. I waited about 20 or 25 min for a their breakfast pizza to go. It was good but that’s way too long. It seems like they are still figuring some stuff out, so I hope things get better. The garden is great and it’s nice that they have crafts and activities.(I also wish they carried better yarn — real wool, not synthetics…). Not giving up on this place yet…

Incredible homie place to eat with the family, it’s like walking into your families home to eat. Highly recommended for all to come. Food is organic, delicious and healthy for you.

Do not enter if hungry! $ 3.50 for a slice of bread with some avocado! $ 7.00 for a tuna sandwich! It’s ok to pay when the atmosphere is friendly… inviting…special…unique, but this place other than being outrageously expensive has nothing to offer. Good luck!

Had the avacado on toast and cappuccino. The service was very sweet like it should be in a coffee shop, kinda changed my mood for the better :). The cappuccino was perfect and avacado on toast was yummy. The ambience is very sweet. Very relaxed atmosphere and casual. They have free wifi as well. Loved this place. Ill be back.

Stumbled on this on Unilocal. It was right, my kind of place. Walked in and friends were here having brunch. Food coffee, and the restroom is labeled«wc» which is greatly gender neutral! Plus a garden! #letmypeoplepee

I’m updated this review from 5 stars as I attended brunch and the service was quite disoriented. The baristas were not very knowledgable and my meal was not delivered complete. When I proceeded to ask about what the plate came with, the barista basically told me that I received less on my plate because that was the last of it… Really? I will wait for brunch to improve before I return. As a coffee shop this place is good.

I am giving this place 4 stars because I would love to see it succeed, but it definitely need to work out some kinks. Clearly the owner put a lot of hard work into this place, and it’s very inviting. It’s a perfect place to hang out alone or with a friend. The backyard is lovely. However, I wish they would standardize on the service and the menu a bit. Every time I go in, it feels like the staff is a little disoriented. Baked goods are excellent. The avocado toast would have been good, but no seasoning on it. just avocado. The coffee is good, but the execution varies and also what’s up with the lids? They are not self serve and they are flimsy and prone to leaking. Hard to justify getting a coffee to go when I risk spilling it.

This place was fine… its really close by which is a plus. i think they should stick to being a coffe shop not a restaurant. They have to many different things going on theres a community posting a library with books and kid games, in the back i think they were selling kids clothes?.. But i definitely saw kids clothes in the back. its just too much its a hodge podge of thing’s going on. I would go back but for coffee, Cookies, scones not for a full meal even though the food was good it just doesn’t seem right to eat a full meal there.

Stopped into Kettle & Thread for the first time today and absolutely LOVED it! The atmosphere was spacious, bright, yet homey and welcoming. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I had the cheddar and scallion scone, while my friend had the egg salad sandwich. Both were exceptional! I’m about to move in around the corner and will most definitely be spending many hours here!

The food here is great! I got the eggs and potatoes/bacon breakfast plate… so delicious! The staff is very friendly, and the space is quite large & the atmosphere is very homelike and relaxed. I definitely recommend this place!(I’m also looking forward to checking out the live music here when I get a chance)

Cheese scallion savory scone was delicious. However, was charged the full price of a small drip hot coffee when I got a refill. Please research prices on coffee refills. It should not cost nearly $ 2. Maybe $ 1, like another area coffee shop I went to today. I’d come back for the pastries, though, and maybe a coffee to go but not to stay.

I love this place soo much! Its so spacious and always inspires my sense of creativity. I love studying in the garden or hanging out with my buddies here. YOu cannot miss the Blue berry ice tea and the Ricecrispes and nutella sandwich. THe home made pastries are just mind blowing.

Craving an afternoon coffee and stumbled in here while checking out the historical section of Prospect Park South. I got a simple iced coffee and my husband got a hot coffee. We both like ours strong and flavorful; both delivered. My iced was rich, flavorful and not at all watered down. My husband’s hot coffee was served in a colorful mug from the shelf of an assortment of mis-matched mugs. Also indulged in an in-house baked cinnamon roll which was warm, not too sweet and a delicious treat! An old 1930’s player piano toward the front of the café caught our eye, as we recently became owners of a similar one. Upon inquiring on who they used to restore and tune it, we become friendly with Elizabeth, the owner. She gave us several contact numbers which we will certainly use, as well as talking to use about the neighborhood. This month-old coffee shop has delicious options, friendly staff, a comfortable atmosphere, and a beautiful outdoor garden in the back. Wishing them good luck and will certainly be back the next time we are in the area.

This place touts being a hobby shop and it is. I easily sat down to knit and spent a relaxing hour here with a freshly toasted buttered baguette and homemade lemonade. It’s also a great place to catch up with a friend. Conversations are easily sparked among the tables and a drawer of board games and books are provided for customers and incite sharing and making friends of strangers. Service needs work. It’s not busy this Saturday afternoon, but the two-person staff was struggling to get the orders out for the three pairs of patrons(me and bf included). However, I will say that despite this, the service does seem to be sincere. I will be returning as the menu gets extensive, especially when I need to hear some old-school jazz or playful piano instrumentals.

If I could give it more stars I would! Seriously, this place is amazing. The atmosphere is cozy, funky and welcoming. The back patio is like a secret garden tucked away in an urban setting. The staff is friendly and make you feel right at home. And the lemonade! It’s all fresh squeezed with fresh lemons. holy refreshing on a warm July day. And do not leave Brooklyn without trying K&T’s cold pressed coffee!!! I will be back.

I can’t say enough good things about Kettle and Thread! They just opened today and it was my first time into the store. Lovely owner and lovely staff! They are new and still building up their stock, but have great cold brew and hot coffee, iced/hot tea, pastries currently. Soon they will have sandwiches, salads, soups, and more. I can’t wait to come here all of the time to read, relax, and be apart of this amazing community!(Bonus: they have an amazing outdoor space with a raised platform/stage, potted flowers, and tables!)
