Loved the ambiance in this place. Very beautiful restaurant. Drink are reasonably priced, as are the meals. I ordered the chicken and broccoli and it was amazing. I’ll definitely return!

Very nice place close to home. I was really surprise to see this restaurant in the area. We went on a wkdn night early dinner. The inside décor is modern. Staff were pleasant and attentive. I think we went on Wed night so it was not loud, and not crowded. I enjoyed the martini I was made. Very tasty. Forgot which one i had but it was good. maybe it was the one with jalapeño one. We shared the appetizer platter. Everything was devoured and I like it all. I am a big prawns fan. Only complaint is that they prawns were on the skinny side. Not sure if that’s just market availability or what. Entrees were both seafood options. I can’t recall the names but one was the salmon and other was shrimp. Yummy. All in all, did not regret coming here for dinner and based on my first visit here I would definitely return and recommend. :)

Great food. Great service. Our waiter was very funny and made lovely suggestions. I will be back. The ambiance was really nice and the food was yummy. Happy hours at 4 – 7. The dry sake was really good.

Great food, everything I order was absolutely tasty. The place is close to my house so I come here often, but the service is a little slow.

The interior is very spacious and modern/dark. I think we paid for the pleasing aesthetics for our eyes instead of the authentic Vietnamese food we had hoped for. The prices here are are what you would expect in Manhattan(even so, I wouldn’t pay $ 15 for a bowl of phõ in Manhattan or anywhere else). If you really want to give Saigon Grill a try, come during the weekdays where they offer you their«Lunch Specials» with carefully selected items that go for about $ 8-$ 13…not really special since the price for a bowl of phõ is around $ 8. :/ The phõ broth was very diluted; tasted almost like water. The steaks, however, were something I enjoyed; all the fatty sections were pre-cut and disposed so I did not have to bite off the fatty pieces like I normally do. What I wished they had in this bowl are tripe and tendon pieces! The shrimp on a stick with banh hoi was an outrageous $ 15! Holy smokes! The presentation was nice… but the plate was not worth $ 15! The taste was mediocre and a tad too oily. A pot of green tea was about $ 3. They have a bar with a bartender here and«happy hour» where drinks are half off during their afternoon times. The waiter and bartender are friendly and attentive!

Very friendly service, quick delivery, & they deliver w/no hassles ALLTHEWAYUPTOFLATBUSH! The curry ga(curry chicken noodle soup) was a bit watery & only has white meat, & the phở had an odd sweetness to it, but it was a cold night ANDTHEYARETHEONLYVIETNAMESERESTAURANTTHATDELIVERSTOFLATBUSH so cheers &5 stars & thank you ! (& the summer rolls were on point, but no peanut sauce on the side — only hoi sin?)

Stopped in for lunch and everything was excellent. Food was delicious. The summer rolls were so fresh. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant outside doesn’t look like much but inside is very clean and modern. Big bonus for the parking lot on the side.

I absolutely adore this place! I’m afraid to share it lol. The service is amazing. The staff is super friendly and attentive. We arrived and was greeted and seated right away. Everything came out in great timing and tasted delicious. The mai tai’s are amazing!!! A must try. Also the flavor of the food was amazing. I loved their curry and the pad Thai! I’ve even ordered delivery and it was just as good. This place is amazing and I will be back!

4.5 stars: I ordered take out here yesterday. It was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed their spring rolls and pork chop. Although the spring rolls were pretty standard fair in terms of taste, they were a bit bigger than normal(yay!). It was quite hard tho in some places. Make sure to eat them while hot as they get rock hard if you try to save them for later.($ 6 – 7). The pork chop over rice was part of the lunch special. I got two pieces for $ 9.50, but there is an option to get 3 pieces as lunch special. This may sound pricey, but actually it was a very responsible price given they were HUGE! I was able to save one piece for lunch the next day! It was extremely tasty and soooo tender. I really enjoyed it, likely best viet pork chop I’ve had. Very filling with rice. I also loved the pickled veggies and cucumbers on the side. I’m very happy with the delivery services as the options in this area are poor. Everything was packed with love(seriously!). Very neat and convienant especially if you lack all types of eating tools.

So this review is based solely on their delivery, as I haven’t had the change to go in yet. I placed an order for their Chicken Summer Rolls, Vietnamese Pad Thai and the Grilled Boneless Chicken. The food was phenomenal for it to be take out. Usually every time I place an order for delivery something is off, and it happens to often that I expect it — but Saigon got everything right and the delivery guy was very nice. I look forward to updated my review when I have the chance to dine in.

You know the saying, «don’t judge a book by its cover?» Yea, this certainly applies to this place. It’s so gorgeous in there giving a lounge feel. There’s a waterfall and the tables are cute. Customer service is great at this location & when you order delivery. The quality of the food is consistent in either instance as well. Seriously, the calamari was so good that I ordered it twice in one setting. The spring rolls are great, the pork chops, the ribs, and their curry dishes are yummy too! My favorite is the Vietnamese pad Thai dish it’s so goodddd! Granted I love Italian food, Chinese food, and sushi but this neighborhood needed this kind of diverse option. Also, Give this place a try for some good food and drinks because the other bars are sketch on avenue N.

This was a snazzy little joint. From the outside… yikes! Looks a bit ragged :0 but the inside is very beautiful. This dim and romantic done right. Its clean, the waterfall wall had a relaxing ambiance. I thought the choice of music was kinda strange and mixed in I guess with the sports bar aspect. Personally for a spots bar its kinda sexy, I couldn’t imaging being a dude and chilling with homies… bit who knows? I could be wrong. There is a tiny lot on the left hand side of the building as well. The portions here are generous and the food tastes fresh too me. For once I did not partake in the alcoholic drinks but had my choice of green tea. I ordered tofu curry with lotus flowers, it was a green ensemble of yummy veggies. Lots of tofu, bamboo and the dreaded baby corn but it was tasty and came with a nice side of fluffy white rice. The bf had broccoli and beef, it looked fresh and he actually ate it all in one sitting which I would assume is a good thing. Overall? A nice place, I might go back but its not really the homey feel I tend to go after when I want Vietnamese food.

Saigon café offers a pleasant all around experience. Our waiter was a bit quirky, yet he made sure our food was brought out promptly and our water glasses were filled. For appetizer, we had spring rolls, summer rolls, fried calamari, and shrimp corndogs. The spring and summer rolls are both solid options if you want more traditional Vietnamese apps. The calamari was fried a bit differently than how calamari is usually fried; the batter was more doughy which made the calamari more subtle. The shrimp corndog was particularly interesting and served on a sugar cane. For my main course, I had the lemon grass chicken. It reminded me of takeout Chinese food. I was a bit disappointed that the restaurant didn’t offer bahn mi or bao sandwiches. I’d recommend this restaurant for tapas style apps and phở.

Saigon Grill is a relatively recent addition to the area, and I’ve been meaning to try it ever since my cousin suggesting we check it out several months ago. We didn’t get to go together, but last night I went with my husband and a friend, and over 12 hours later my stomach still hurt because I made the unfortunate choice of eating the entirety of my gigantically portioned entrée, but it was so good that it was worth it(I didn’t want to have to share if I brought half of it home!) My husband and our friend also both finished their entrees, but they’re boys and tend to handle an equivalent large portion size a lot better than I do(in spite of my best efforts). First things first though: I had seen from pictures on the website that it was pretty, but it was REALLY pretty, a lot more than I had expected. The tables are a glossy blonde wood, the bar is chic, the walls are alternate between rustic exposed red brick and a rosy champagne textured look, and there’s an elegant glass-paneled waterfall that is edged with glowing poles of bamboo. Still, the waitstaff definitely conveyed a casual vibe, but even so I felt like my shorts and pink zombie kitty t-shirt weren’t the best outfit that I could have chosen. I’ll know better next time! So what did we get? An order of Fried Vegetarian Spring Rolls to share first, which I personally was not that wowed by, but the others liked them a lot. As entrees, my husband got the vegetarian Vietnamese Style Pad Thai, our friend the Spicy and Tasty Chicken, and I got the Basil Vegetables. The menu is LONG, and we took a long time to decide on what to get, and every single one of us was so pleased that no one else wanted to share either. So we’ll definitely be going back, but I definitely won’t make the mistake of trying to finish the entrée in one sitting next time. My husband knows better than to invade leftovers without asking me first anyway.

Saigon Grill has a very relaxing mood and elegant décor. It’s a great place for a vegan to eat with omnivores. The menu has several tasty vegetarian options in the appetizers and main dishes. My favorite so far is the Vegetarian Skewers(grilled tofu & vegetables on a stick with sate dipping sauce). The wait staff are pleasant and attentive. I very much appreciated that a waiter noticed I was ordering only veggie things and let me know that something I was going to choose had a tiny amount of fish.

We were biking all the way out to find a random burger truck that’s gotten written up a lot lately, and when the burger truck was nowhere to be found, we stood around pissed off for a while before turning to Unilocal and finding this joint sort of nearby. It turned out to be even better than the burger probably would have been, and the surprise was that we used to live not far from their other original location on University Place near Union Square. Following a law suit that resulted from delivery employees who were being beaten and paid a couple dollars an hour and working 60+ hours a week, that place changed it’s name and stopped delivering for a long time. We always wondered why the food came so quickly and was so hot — they were beating them! And so, with no delivery options, we stopped ordering from them, even though they had the most delicious pork chops and spare ribs in town. Fast forward to now, and us sitting in their brand new location, with the original name(!!), right smack in … THEMIDDLEOFNOWHERE. Seriously, we had to google what neighborhood this was in. Has anyone ever heard of the Flatlands? Why would they open a shop here?! Regardless, it was pretty amazing. The pork chops were so soft, juicy and flavorful and perfect. If it weren’t so far away from where i currently live, I’d go several times a week. Owners: open one in or very near CLINTONHILL, BROOKLYN!!! It would do amazingly well, we have no good Vietnamese here to speak of, and you’d have a built-in audience of hungry hipsters who are sick of the New American bullshit that keeps opening up around here. DOIT!!! :) I beg of you. One criticism: the fried Vietnamese spring rolls were excellent, but they were not served classically with mint and lettuce and such, but as a typical spring roll with dipping sauce. They were good, but I wanted to wrap them up in mint and lettuce as I would at any Vietnamese restaurant. Other than that, the service was good and the food came out incredibly fast. I’ll be back if I can ever find my way back to the Flatlands again.
