I loved my experience at Stephanie’s Village in October of 2014. My appointment was a walk in and Riley was my stylist. She did a fantastic job on cutting my hair just the way I liked! I’ve had not so great experiences at other salons in my life like many of you, but Stephanie’s Village blew me a way. Riley was very kind and knew what she was doing. My hair can be a bit difficult because of its curliness but that was no problem for her. Update: Recently just went back and of course, I wasn’t disappointed. Riley did great, my hair looks much more lively. She’s the best! I’ll be back again!

Superior service. Great quality. I have gone to A List salons in Princeton, Boston and San Francisco. I can say I get the same or better quality with my color and cut. The service is superior to any of those«A Listers.» Personal attention from the nicest people you could ever know and outstanding prices for the high level of service. Some of these reviewers must have the wrong salon. I have 5 friends who have each changed over to Stephanie’s from high end salons that spend more energy on the furnishings than the clients. They are regular customers and continue to recommend.

Hello, I bought a Groupon for a facial. After calling several times without a response finally I spoke to someone. Wanted to make an appt. for a Saturday facial women said they do not do them on Saturdays! What no facials on Saturday who has ever heard of this, I am sure it is because of the Groupon. I told her Saturday is the only day I could come, she said she would speak to the owner. Stephanie, the owner, called me saying she can not do it on Saturday only Sunday. I told her there were no exclusions on the Groupon and only Saturdays works fo rme. She said that she can’t work 7 days a week, who asked her too?!! Unbelievable so rude, no customer service skills whatsoever! So I emailed Groupon, thinking this was not a big deal they would give me a refund. Well I was wrong, they told me to give it to a friend if the dates did not work for me. I called told the same thing until I was transferred to a supervisor. She really didn’t want to give me a refund, but I told her they would not let me use the Groupon, and there were NO exclusions listed on the Groupon so finally a credit on my account. Very disappointing overall. Never will I use thsi salon again!!! I will also be a bit more hesitant with Groupon. Shame on all of them.

I also had a groupon — the cut, conditioner and partial highlights/color. When I read the comments on this site about groupon customers, I was actually thinking about taking a loss on the groupon. I have had a stylist for many years and did not want to take a chance and have a bad experience and bad hair. I was pleasantly suprised. The stylist Wendy was very nice and made me feel right at home. She listened to and came through with what I was looking for. I will have to check out their prices for the future.

I won’t go into great detail here, because you probably wouldn’t even believe it. So, here it is in a nutshell… The Pros: *Convenient location *Salon itself is attractive, clean, bright, and comfortable *My stylist(Wendy, I believe) was incredibly friendly and nice The Cons: *Incredibly rude owner on the phone even setting up the appointment *The haircut – I mistakenly told the stylist that I trusted her opinion as the expert and to do whatever she thought was best, as long as it didn’t involve bangs and the majority of my hair could still be pulled back into a ponytail just for my workout time(meaning, it didn’t have to be pretty, just long enough to be pulled out of my face). Any guesses on how I left? In addition to it being a flat out hideous cut, yup, you got it… bangs, and short! My friend who saw me immediately following could barely choke out«It’s not *that* bad,» when she saw me. *The Groupon – said it included deep conditioning, but I got none, even when I asked the stylist about it. In all fairness… I did not say anything about my extreme disappointment while I was there. In my defense, however… She’d already hacked off all of my hair… what was left to try to fix?!? And as rude as the owner had already been, it hardly seemed worth the hassle of getting into anything with her(and based on her defensive responses to reviews here on Unilocal,I suspect that I made the right decision!). If you’ve got a thick skin and know exactly what haircut you want to describe to your stylist, you’d probably be just fine here.(That’s why it is getting two stars instead of one.) Being that neither of those things were of myself on the day of my visit, it was a poor fit for me.

I am writing this review on behalf of my mother after she told me what a terrible experience she had at this salon. The staff at Stephanie’s was very rude to her after discovering that she was«a Groupon» as they referred to her. I would recommend that this salon does not offer Groupon deals if they are not welcoming of those who buy them. Pretty confident that this place won’t be in business for long.

I bought a groupon for the $ 39 cut and color. When I arrived at the Salon they greeted me by saying«you’re Late» then told me that Groupon had advertised wrong and they would have to charge an extra $ 10 per ounce to color my hair. I told the girl to just cut it then and she said she couldn’t take the Groupon for that either even though it INCLUDED a cut. She said I would have to pay $ 45 for the cut. They should have at least cut my hair or called me ahead of time to tell me about the mix up. I wouldn’t go back here. ever! They were rude. No wonder why they dont have much business.

I bought a Groupon for $ 19 for a haircut, blow-dry, style and deep-conditioning treatment. The atmosphere was comfortable — the salon is a cute little place. But the haircut is nothing special. I asked for long layers and angles in the front to blend in my grown out bangs; but the angles are pretty much non-existent and the layers are choppy. My stylist Riley was really nice and easy to talk to but she didn’t spend much time on my hair. My hair falls about 5″ below my shoulders and is very thick — usually haircuts for me take 1hr+ but I was in & out of Stephanie’s in 35 minutes. It doesn’t look terrible but I wouldn’t pay the $ 45 they charge for a woman’s haircut. Also, the deep conditioning treatment was just a regular conditioner, so skip that too.
