Blue Ridge Tavern and Trading Post

Where to go when waiting for a delayed flight when at the gate in the Asheville airport? Well head over to the center of the terminal, just outside of the security check, and grab a burger and a beer at the Blue Ridge Tavern and trading post.
Where you might say? Well hidden behind the Paradies Shop closest to the window is a restaurant and bar that serves up pretty decent food and pours a great drink. While I’ve been here before– on this trip, Kerry was behind the bar and doing a great job in taking care of all of us disgruntled passengers who were stuck waiting to see if we were going to get to our destination or not (turns out on this trip, «not» was going to be the answer!)
Their menu is varied and I can vouch for the BLT, club sandwich as well as the burger– all very good considering it’s airport food. And if you like Bloody Mary’s, this place has some pretty good ones as well.
Eating in an airport is never going to be my favorite thing– but since I seem to get stuck here on every visit I make, it’s nice to know there’s a place that has some decent food and enough alcohol to make the pain of travel go away!
