Genesee County Animal Control

Never take your animal here. If you have to find somewhere to take an animal for any reason please try to call one of the local rescues first. I volunteered here and it is hell for us and the animals.
Sickness is rampant, the bleach smell is so strong you choke, dirty bleach water full of fecal material left in the bowls when they are filled with food and water, cages too small with bars on the bottom that cut up dogs tails and paws, dogs rarely getting out to walk, cats next to never being able to be taken out at all.
Many things about this place are not up to local, state, and federal standardize. The director keeps claiming change is coming but so far none of the updates that are written into the millage that was passed has happened. And they have no plans in place for it to happen. It was written in that changes to the structure had to be made in the first year, and I am waiting to see if any punishment will occur for those that caused this lack of action.
One star, only because I can not go lower.
