Let’s start with if a restaurant has moved several times that should be your first clue to stay away. If all good they would stay put as customers would be flocking to them. This is my second visit. On my first visit down the road we waited forty five minutes for a salad and stromboli in a restaurant with less than 12 customers not 12 tables. 12 people total. My stromboli was so hard I had to use a steak knife to cut through it. Sounded like hitting the table in was so burnt and hard. Second visit was for an open house of a friend down at the current location. Buffet style. Mostaccoili was over cooked and had a ton of cheese trying to cover the fact it was OK tasting. The bread was sliced bread brushed with garlic butter. The sandwich had hard bread. But the salad was okay.

So greasy the toppings slid off crust while sitting in a curved seat. Grease dripping out of corners. Use to be a good place not anymore

My husband and I have loved this place since Chevorlet Ave. Their pizza, though pretty expensive now, is still my husbands absolutely favorite. Our entire family has grown up loving their food! We hope they stay around for years to come. Plus we try to only eat at family owns places, NOT chains.

An old favorite of mine. Been coming here since they were on Chevrolet in Flint when I was a kid! Lasagna, pizza, baked ravioli all amazing. Family owned. I haven’t had Italian as good as here or Italian gardens since we’ve moved. Flint definitely has the best Italian restaurants. CA and TX are horrible when it comes to Italian food. Oh and can’t forget the focaccia bread! It’s addicting!

The REAL kicker is our server put our bill ON the birthday cake. Yes, I’m not joking. Came for a birthday party. There were 20 in our party. The servers discussed how annoyed they were in front of us. I ordered a glass of wine to start. It took over 40 mins for it to arrive… then I asked to order our meal since we had been waiting 40 mins for just a drink, this reply came with a scoff. . Never. Ever. Again.

Here we are with a reservation @ 7pm… Didn’t get seating until, 7:35pm and just finished with salad and a beer. still waiting on Lasagna Dexluxe. finally got to eat it around 8:23pm. This place is 100% unprofessional, sitting in the sports bar area, appetizers bread was hard, and lasty someone in our party credit card seems to have gotten stuck between the wall and the counter, and can’t retrieve it?! Please stay away from the restaurant. by any means. 100% incompetent from Owner to hostess.

Will never go back again! We always visited Ruggero’s on our visits to Flint since the 1980’s & we’re very very disappointed in our visit 9÷11÷15. The temperature was set at 61 degrees (Felt like we were in Alaska). Seated at 6:00 pm & served our cold dinners at 7:15. Butter would not even melt in baked potatoes. Could never find our waitress to even pay our bill. Finally checked out at 8:15. Food was also mediocre.

Just pulled out of the parking lot, and never going back. After a five minute wait for a hostess we were seated in an almost empty restaurant. After waiting five minutes for a server to greet us and take our drink order, five more minutes go by and were informed we were waiting for them to «make» the lemonade. Our drinks arrive and two Cokes are dropped on top of my fiancé and i– we are instantly soaked. Pants and shirts. They move us to another booth, and it goes ok for the rest of our meal-our new server(not the one who spilled the drinks on us) was very nice. We get our bill, and it’s the full amount. I ask for a manager. She says,” oh, I can discount something” after I explain were both sticky and wet still and think we should have at least been offered a complimentary dessert or ten percent or something. She brings the bill back and she’s taken six dollars off– of the cheapest meal, and it wasn’t either of our two lasagna dishes who the drinks were spilled on. The manager acted clueless to our troubles, so I simply overpaid for the horrible service and missing courtesy and left. I’ll never go back. The food was decent but not worth the 14 $ a plate of lasagna and lap full of soda.

My all time favorite restaurant… we have known this family for many, many years. I can remember going to pick up pizza with my dad as a child on Chevrolet, it’s been many years… The food and staff are awesome!

Well, I finally did try the pizza(on May 1, 2015) at long last. It was very good, not a typical«veggie» pizza– I mean, it was loaded with veggies, all fresh with a nice, rich sauce and lots of cheese. It had a good crust, not too greasy or dry. I hate pizza crusts that are dripping in oil and butter or taste so dry and feel like they’ve been tossed around a few times too many! That’s the good, so now for the not so good It’s still a four star establishment in my book based primarily on the food, however, the service was slower than anything I’ve experienced at Ruggero’s before. It took only minutes to get seated, but about 30 minutes to get drinks. Bread and drink refills came at a snail’s pace and we had filled up on bread by the time the pizza arrived at least an hour later. No one was busing tables, either. The dining room looked like the aftermath of a frat party by the time we left. Hopefully, it was a one-time thing. Nonetheless, it’s still a pretty good local Italian eatery, if only based on the food quality and price.

We routinely make trips to the Flint area because our favorite apple orchard, Almar Orchards, is open year round. Ruggero’s came highly recommended by several locals and the Unilocal community as it has been a Flint staple for 40+ years. The bread that comes to the table is great when it is cooked well and awful when it’s not. Since we’re «carbovores,» we experienced both on the same visit. Good olive oil can only hide so many culinary sins. My wife wanted bruschetta. The portion was huge and loaded with fresh tomato, garlic and basil. It’s very filling, and if you’re also nibbling from the bread basket, you probably won’t have room for your entrée. Definitely worth ordering but pace yourself. The kids and I came for pizza but from the looks of it, lasagna seems to be the fan favorite. Virtually, every table had at least one order of lasagna. I’m not like Garfied and don’t regularly crave lasagna but I’ll try it once. Pizza: Our pizza was a thin crust and unfortunately was overcooked. The crust came out more like a hard, dense cracker. Cooked a little less, this would have been a very good pizza and I’m sure it is. The sauce is great and if you like meat, absolutely GETTHEITALIANSAUSAGE on it. Our server was great and polished at the craft. She paid special attention to my kids food allergies, made the rounds without being intrusive and was friendly and personable. Food that day was 3-stars, almost four while the service was an easy 5-stars. She made an otherwise average experience just feel like something better. I know the food here is much better than what we received which is why I can both easily recommend Ruggero’s and will gladly make a return visit and try it again. Don’t wait until Birch Run, get off on Corunna Rd. and eat here.

I love this place & try to get there whenever I’m in Flint. The food is fantastic & service is great as well. This is a family run establishment with reasonable prices & a great atmosphere.

I do not take pleasure in writing negative reviews but this place has few redeeming qualities. Would not normally go here but had a family party. Staff was friendly but food was not good at all. Char grilled chicken Caesar salad — chicken was, dry, chewy and unseasoned. Salad dressing seemed to be anything but housemade. At least the romaine seemed crisp and somewhat fresh. My wife’s side of pasta with pesto was bland and mushy. My son’s pasta with marinara was also subpar-sweet tasting and the aromatics/onions were still crisp. Like they added a few aromatics to a jarred sauce. Would not recommend to anyone that is looking for quality over quantity.

Nothing here has ever stood out to me. The food has always been okay. My husband likes the Stromboli, but I just think it’s alright. Haven’t cared much for anything I’ve had here. Just okay food.

Went with my mom and aunt on 10⁄21. It was our first time to the new location. When we first walked in there was no one else waiting to be seated or anyone coming in behind us. The«hostess» and I am using that herm extremely loosely. She asked us how many and whisked away to the table. My aunt isn’t the fastest. But this woman had one agenda and that was to get the menus to the table. Not us, the customers. The menus were at our table and the hostess was passing on her way back to take-out counter. No «your waitress will be with you» or «thank you for joining us for lunch» nothing. I have never experienced anything like that from a hostess. She had sat two other tables in the same fashion. The woman has no people skills and shouldn’t be «greeting» people. After we ordered we ordered and got our drinks we sat for a while wondering where our bread basket. Turns out you have to pay for your bread if it’s before 4 pm. That was a bummer but it was only $ 1 a basket so it wasn’t bad at all. My mom and aunt both had the lasagna which is what they normally have so no surprises there. I had something I had never. It was their Bolognese which was cut with their Alfredo to make a yummy creamy bolognese, best dish I’ve had there :-) I actually rank it with my second favorite place for Italian! Very good:-) Aside from asocial hostess who we seen as we were leaving, I’m thinking was the owner… she was in the banquet room on a laptop with papers strewn about the table. Aside from her, we had a nice lunch. Had the«hostess/owner been more personable… or hell personable at all I would have given more stars.

Went here on 10÷8÷2014 and ordered a medium pizza. Understood that it takes 20 minutes for a pizza. 1 hour later and 2 questions to our server our pizza came. The only explanation given was that a large take out order came in ahead of ours. Not sure why that would impact my order? When the bill came no apology for the wait or nothing offered for our time spent there. Plus the pizza was just OK. I get better from delivery places.

We came here because of a Groupon… Let’s just say that if their plan by offering a Groupon is to get you hooked so you come back, this was the most successful Groupon I’ve ever bought… We will definitely be coming back despite the fact that it is over an hour drive to get here… They had me at the bread… Best bread I’ve run across in a restaurant including Lucky’s… Then the pizza came and it was just as fantastic… Ton of toppings and crispy crust… Best pizza I’ve had anywhere in Michigan and I’ve had a lot of pizza… We will be back soon… Service was also phenomenal… Lots of leftovers with four people and we only ordered one pizza…

Quite disappointed in our last visit. We received our menus and I noticed that the children’s menu had two different sets of prices. I asked them to honor the lower price, as is the correct thing to do. Server refused, sent the mgr who gave me some story about it being the printer’s mistake and also refused. Later in our meal the server offered me the child’s ice cream for my two kids. I asked about the brand as my daughter has a peanut allergy. She said the name and I said that we would pass on the ice cream and did they have other options? She informed me that it comes with ice cream and that is all. I left upset with the experience, to not honor a printed price and to offer no other options to a child who cannot eat the offered item? Doesn’t seem like a way to keep longterm customers coming back.

Love the«Deluxe» lasagna; made with Italian sausage. I have been returning to Ruggeros for 41 years for this dish. Susan was the waitress for my first visit, and she is still working the floor. Most visits, I will order a pan of unbaked lasagna to take home.

Arguably, the best pizza outside of chicago. The pizza is thin crust. I asked and for this audience, they cook the pizza at 475 degrees and cooks for 12 minutes. It comes out perfectly crisp with the cheese nicely browned.

I’ve been eating pizza here for almost 50 years. Folllowed them from Chevrolet to Linden to Corunna. World class pizza in a not-so-world class city. Thin, crispy and hot it is the standard.
