I’ve coming to this establishment since the early 80s when there wasn’t a food court at the Genesee Valley Mall. It has my favorite recipe for real Flint Coney dogs. I know when they talk about the Flint style dog all eyes point to Angelos, but not to this expatriate. This place is the definitive version. If Angelos invented it, Palace improved upon it. That being said, you still pay excellent prices, food is still fantastic even outside of the Coney(we’re talking good diner food, so manage your expectations). Get a coney with everything, some fries, and wash it down with a vernors. Maybe a baklava for desert. Thank me later.

Unbelievably good, authentic Greek gyro sandwich, perhaps the best I’ve had yet. It’s seems strange to say that about a restaurant located in the food court at the mall, but it’s the truth. They’ve been around for years and are still a family run establishment, making excellent Greek food, not some of the inferior quality crap being touted as Greek food around town. Super nice staff, good good and cheap prices. I swear they haven’t changed their prices all that much in years. There isn’t a bad item on the menu or anything to avoid, it’s all fresh and homemade. PS I love those kitschy old school menu photo boards from the 70’s that are still hanging on the walls. They’re a hoot and definitely add to my love of the place. w

The owners of this«Palace»…run a tight ship. They don’t allow slacking workers. Can’t afford to since business is heavy for them during lunch hours. It is a family owned place that cranks out great diner food at decent prices. They are very friendly and give a lot of high school students their first taste of employment. Seeing, a lot of them return during school break one can only assume they treat their employees like family as well. Great coney’s(Koegels used), wing dings, salads(fresh), good hamburgers and other sandwiches. Give it a whirl.

You know how there’s certain foods which spark fond memories? For some, that rocket popsicle you ate while watching the 4th of July fireworks. Or it might be that first funnel cake, heavily dusted with powdered sugar that you ate at the county fair(and then promptly yakked back up after riding the spinning whirl-a-gig of doom). But whenever you eat one of these memory comfort foods, they never taste as good as you remember. Everybody must experience the Coney Dog at least once — a koegel foot-long hot dog smothered in a zesty meat sauce. Smother that puppy with some mustard, grilled onions, and a touch of relish. Order a side of onion rings and be sure to dip the onion rings in the meat sauce that is surely overflowing from the sides of your hot dog bun. Feel them arteries clogging up. Oh yeeeez. The problem is, I hadn’t had one in a LONG time, and it definitely wasn’t as tasty here as I remember. The skin of the hot dog didn’t snap … it was a bit … rubbery. Kinda like what I’d imagine most 7 – 11 hot dogs must taste like. The onion rings were delicious though, and the meat sauce … mmmmmmmmm. I’m craving me a big ol’ bowl of it right now! The owner is really sweet though, we reminisced about how Flint has changed. But I was very relieved to see him still in business. PS — The menu is very extensive — you can order other Greek food like gyros n’ baklava if that’s more your thing. :)
